OLDER HEADS: who were the KARRINE STEFFANS of the 80s and 90s?

THEY STILL HOES.

madonna
sheila e
rae dawn chong
diana ross
paula abdul
etc.

Were there any notorious groupies/hoes back in the 80s or 90s? What type of scandalous shit did they do?

And not just groupies...who were the models/dimepieces that dudes lusted over? Like for example, Esther Baxter and Bria Myles...who would of been their "equivalent", in the 80s and 90s?

For the 80s the primary people who come to mind are "The Good Girls" of which Shireen Crutchfield was a member (but Joyce Tolbert was hotter). Vanity (of Vanity 6) and Apollonia Kotero also come to mind. There was also the chick who was the lead dancer on Solid Gold, lol.

As for the nineties, there were a number of women, but because there were no black mags like KING out at that time, they had no way of coming into prominence. Tara Davis, Mari Marrow (How to be a Player), Jossie Harris (Flygirl), Traci Bingham (Baywatch), Cindy Herron (En Vogue), Lisa Raye, Angelle Brookes, Amy Hunter, Elan Carter, Wanda Acuna, Tyler Collins, Tracy Hudson, Michelle Williams, and many more...

This was the major jumpoff of the 90's:

Hmm let's see, Curtis Martin, Jason Kidd, Shemar Moore, Jim Jackson. Somebody help me out with any I've missed.

Think about any fine ass woman in the industry who for some reason was never wifed up. She was probably a groupie.

Not very many.

Most Black women still had a sense of CLASS and discretion in those days.

And if they did do any of the shit a Karrine Steffans, etc. did, it was kept behind closed doors.

End of the story right there...

That's a powerful statement, but do you really think black women all of a sudden became indiscrete attention whores at the turn of the century?

The reality is black female sexuality had/has been repressed for hundreds of years and only a fortunate confluence of elements at the new mileneum allowed them to finally start showing off their sexual side in the media. The general rise in internet/computer use, YouTube, Myspace, the appearance of black "lad" magazines, pay websites, hip hop music videos, BET, J Lo... All these things converged to allow black women to start finally showing their asses comfortably in front of the camera.

So it's not that the girls from the prior generation were so chaste or discrete... it's just that they didn't have a venue to be slutty in yet, lol.

Too bad you can't say the same about black men. You know, Wilt Chamberlain bragging about fucking 20,000 women, or Magic bragging about fucking 5 different women (or whomever) in a day.

REally? Those guys are only famous for fuckin' women? Or are they the greatest ever at what they do and happened to put those stories in books written by them that people bought because they were already world-renowned and famous?

You're such an arrogant bitch! Your hatred of Black dudes doesn't even let you think logically half the time.

No, what happened was in the '80s and '90s, there wasn't the money in being a professional Hip-Hop/NBA/NFL groupie that there is now. The money was in being a Rock N Roll groupie which is why Pamela Des Barres and Pam Anderson and Tawny Kitaen and Bobby Brown and Carmen Electra and all them bitches got famous. They were the Superheads, Melyssa Fords, and Buffy The Body's of their day. It was all about Rock

But in the the late '90s, thanks to Cobain, 2pac, and Biggie dying, Hip-Hop led by Puffy and Jay and guys like that became the excessive, decadent, party music that Rock N Roll used to be, so now the famous hoes are Black, whereas back in the '80s, you wouldn't get a reality show, book deal, Mercedes Benz, and shit like that unless you were with a White Rock band or somebody in that statosphere.

It's not "no," this is just a further explanation of what I stated with "the general rise in...hip hop music videos, BET...converged to allow black women to start finally showing their asses comfortably in front of the camera."

I completely agree with what you said, but it's additive, not inapposite, of what I stated. Essentially, there was a market for black women to be sexy in the late 90s to present, so it came into vogue.

Bottom line: black weren't showing off their sexuality in the 80s and 90s, but not out of some puritanical sensibility. There just wasn't a market for it.

There has never been anyone like Karrine Steffans before and I hope there never will be anyone else. This chick has no class.

Don't be shocked when she's found dead.
