Okay, yesterday (Tuesday) the Republican dominated House of Representatives passed legislation it calls Cut, Cap & Balance. And not a peep yet from the resident Tea-Pubs on this board. Hell, that makes me think that maybe this CC&B may not be fuckery, after all.

1. Cut - Discretionary and mandatory spending reductions that would cut the deficit in half next year.
2. Cap - Statutory, enforceable caps to align federal spending with average revenues at 18% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with automatic spending reductions if the caps are breached.
3. Balance - Send to the states a Balanced Budget Amendment (BBA) with strong protections against federal tax increases and a Spending Limitation Amendment (SLA) that aligns spending with average revenues as described above.
Tea-Pubs, do you expect this to pass the Senate ??? -- if not:
(A) Isn't the CC&B just your most recent cover designed to enrage and work-up your conservative base -- while hiding the fact that you haven't come close to solving shit;
(B) Isn't the CC&B a pledge of its supporters and those who voted in favor of it to pledging never, ever compromise and accept anything other than CC&B (as if any side can or should have everything its way) -- which makes its next to impossible for its supporters to actually arrive at a solution; and
(C) Isn't this CC&B just a way to avoid sitting down at the table and trying to work through the problems ???
Which one of these am I in error ? ? ?
