OK... I want to know why Thon Maker would not be a small forward

Because he can't defend the three position :dunno:

That youtube clip has made Thon the most overrated high school player in america

Dude isn't even the top player in his class. I don't think he's even top five in his class.

Those moves are spliced together, you're lucky to get 15 points from him.

I really hate what youtube mixtapes are doing to some of these kids, because it's making them out to be better than they are. Then you have fans and alumni going why aren't you recruiting ______________

Why a small forward??....why not a stretch 4?....or why not get his ass under the basket and rebound.

Learn the SkyHook....everybody wants to shoot 3s:smh:

Whats his wingspan. Kid is skilled as fuck for his age and experience level but his arms look kinda short for his frame.

Maker is definitely top 5 and climbing. He is already considered number one at his position. EVERY major college in America has offered. Not sure what you're talking about. This kid has a skillset that is unbelievable for his size. He just needs to refine those skills and get stronger. Keep in mind this kid grew up playing soccer and has been playing basketball for only a few years. Under the right tutelage, this kid will be a monster.

I think what he's saying though is you look at that ciip and Maker has a different jersey on each highlight. You check out some of his stats....he shoots 54% from 2 pointers and 28% from 3 pointers.....

There's potential there no doubt. But the hype I think is crazy due to them clips. He hasn't proven to be as dominate as his size and skill set are. But he's still young. Not a finished product by any means. But I seen a mock draft already have him as the 1st overall pick in like the 2017 or 18 draft and shit.

he is fluid, but at that height, what is the fucking point shooting threes and taking people off the dribble from the wing. Get his big ass in the paint, rebound, block shots, and shoot over 65% from the paint, and please get a fucking hook shot.

all this stretch shit and you are 7 feet tall:angry::angry::angry:,

He's just doing that now because he can. I saw Chris Bosh and Lamarcus Aldridge both play in High School and they were the same way. That year of college made a big difference.

Thon reminds me of a young Kevin Garnett, in high school.

But will he stay in college LONG ENOUGH to learn enough post moves to play better in the middle?... That's the question.

In high school, KG could do everything Thon does, but he had a mean (fundamental) post up game in addition to the flashy stuff.

He's also pretty damn skinny. If he was built like a Cousins or Favors then yes he should be in the post 95% of the time but he's skinny as fuck right now. He needs to make it part of his arsenal but he's not built to be banging down low all of the time. He's listed at 200 lbs on Rivals which has him ranked 3rd in his class.

No, not every college has offered him :smh:

Have you actually seen him play, in person?

I have, extensively.

And no, I wouldn't rate him top five, I'd say Giles, Tatum, Jr Smith, Lawson and Jackson are easily better in his class.

Rankings aren't based on what they are now, which he isn't top 5...as seen in the 100 camp. It's based on his upside, which he maybe never will reach. He never stands up out playing other than his height.

And that tutelage issue will be hindered by the people around him and his brother.

Funny how Boo Williams got better without him.
