Oil Change - Where do you go? Local garage shop or a chain store?

Yep, they are a little expensive, but they take care of you better, because their service and vehicle reputation is on the line. Sometimes they offer bullshit extra shit though.

I do the express oil for $35 in my Avalanche. I did my own oil for years now it seems like to much of a hassle to just save $5 or $10 plus disposing of the old oil.

Last time I had it done at a Lube joint...I had to talk to a manager.
I was like...Look man...it don't take no damn hour and a half to change no damn oil.
Drop the oil, change the filter, refill so I can get the fuck outta here...

They were holding niccas hostage up in that piece...

30 mins to pull the car in...they pop the hood and go off and do whatever.
30 mins later they looking for something to try and upsale me for.
Then they finally change the oil in the last 10 mins.

Found me a joint where you drive in and they change it while you wait.

My last couple of oil change I did yourmechanic, they come to were you live and do oil changes or other repairs. A lot of mechanics from dealership or small shops work this part time to make money on the side

Am I the only nicca using Groupon? I got my last one on a day they were offering an extra 20% off.. a $100 dollar synthetic oil change for less than $40 if I remember.

Same here. I went to one of those franchise oil spots, and the guy says, "Pop the hood, I need to show you something." That's when I knew fuckery was afoot. Then he goes on about oil blends in today's engines, and a 39.99 oil change would be 76.99. I told him no thanks and drove to the dealer. Told the dealership guy the story, and he laughed his ass off. They do it for 34.99.
We have a company called Precision Tune here in NC. Those bastards harass you whenever you get an oil chance or inspection

FIRESTONE on Peachtree Dunwoody road behind Perimeter Mall.

They charge me like 12.00. I always bring my own oil (Mobil 1 full synthethic) and they do it even though they not supposed to.

I bought a set of 4 tires with the warranty so they always hook me up...and they are in a well to do area so they keep up their reputation well.

Then they got you. Even porsche doesn't charge that much. I've never paid more than $80 for an oil change, when I used to pay for oil changes.

no. one vehicle holds 10-12 qts i want to say 10. the other has to be done at the dealership only

Guess it depends on what you're driving. I have a hooptie so my mechanic does it so he can check out er'thing else.

My wife has the new vehicle so it was the dealer until recently.

Not a fan of the drive thru oil change places BUT if you're short on change and have no where else use them THIS TIME ONLY.

Buy the 5 quart jug of oil, and the filter at Walmart, or wait for one of the frequent sales at Auto Zone (so that you can get the better quality of oil).
Many of the shops that do Oil Changes will only charge around $20, to do an oil change with customer supplied oil and filter.

Messicans round my way is ten .....

No one has touched my car but the dealer I bought it from barring tire purchase and install. Anything under the hood all dealer.

Agree. Often too, the service manager is usually a veteran of the shop and will shoot you a 15% off coupon if asked. Developing a relationship with them helps them not give you too much more than what you need.

i paid that much for oil changes at lube stop and the dealership when i had a navigator and that only took 6 quarts. not sure what dealership you goto for 89.00 oil changes on a 5 series but when i had beemers the avg was 220 for oil, rotation, and fluid top offs, 40 more for nitrogen refill.

This... Once they know that you know your shit they don't fuck with you. I guess they make a note under your profile. Honda does this thing where the computer (A1, B2 etc) tells the techs what to do. Well A1 says change oil, while B1 says oil and filter. I told them to change both. They brought my car back, I took the keys, went straight to the passenger side and looked to check... Nope. Went back to the service desk, in front of another customer and told them loud as fuck "I asked you to change the oil AND filter regardless of what the computer said." In a rush to keep me quite he said he'd do it personally. That was 2 cars ago!!! Not 1 issue since.

Very easy. Go to Nalley BMW website and look at their service special coupon. Y'all make it seem as if life in the U.S. is rocket science.

I'll help you out:

Nearly all dealerships have oil change specials.
Anyway I haven't paid for an oil change since 2010.

Lol ok. You just asked me where they were servicing 5 series for $89 and I showed it to you. Let me know if you have any other questions about this thing called life.
