@playahaitian spoke to my sis.
KCH hasn't been busy since early last year. They have two floors with 34 covid beds each. They have not been full. Probably all year. They have a mix of Covid and pneumonia in there. And it's only people who can't move like walk really hit with it. If the ward got bad they would open up the A building and use that like they did last year. They have closed it since Covid has not been anything like early last year. They got madd govt bread to keep this all going. Anywho...
Anyone who can walk into a hospital means you're ambulatory. Majority of the time they tell you take over the counter meds and send you right back home.
She told me madd stories of stuff like her friends mom died, first had open heart surgery in Feb and then suffered from of a heart attack and passed in the hosp, in April 2020. Because since March - Dec the hosp got more govt funding money for Covid related deaths so they listed everyone "Covid Related" who died.
I don't want to argue with anyone believe what you want but she told me many things about madd funds that were given to perpetuate this that's going on.
Like many workers would come to the line to enter the building, to sign in. You cough, they immediately send you home with pay, paid by the govt to the hosp til you get a test to return. They did this for the majority of last year. Many abused that lil trick playing sick and got paid days off. Everyone was in on it.
I'm only speaking on KCH by the way and know a lot of friends who are EMS. For a long time, over a year has not been the way it was in the beginning. Has just not been busy.
But I think also the public misconception is that when a hosp says it's "full" with Covid, they could have 20-50 beds designated only to that. Not like the '500' other ailments in beds all over the other wards are at capacity. Or whatever the hosp can hold. Just that one Covid area where they have the staff to facilitate that.
So is what it is.
