The UFC Primetime series will return to build up the UFC Welterweight Championship fight between Georges St-Pierre and Dan Hardy.[2] It will be the first time a British fighter has ever fought for a UFC title.

Martin Kampmann was originally set to fight Ben Saunders, but Kampmann was replaced by Jake Ellenberger due to a deep cut suffered in training by Kampmann.[3]

Ricardo Funch was forced to pull out of a fight against Matthew Riddle for an undisclosed reason. UFC newcomer Greg Soto was named as his replacement.[4]

Spike TV will be be broadcasting two live preliminary bouts one hour before the PPV broadcast begins.[5] The bouts confirmed for this portion of the card are Nate Diaz vs. Rory Markham and Ricardo Almeida vs. Matt Brown

This event will be seen in movie theaters throughout the United States via National CineMedia's Fathom event distribution service.[6] Also, it will play at the Cineplex Odeon chain in Canada.[7]

On March 10, 2010 it was announced that the event was officially sold out.[8]

There was also some controversy that the UFC airbrushed Hardy's tattoo which reads "om mani padme hum" for their promotional poster. UFC president Dana White later admitted that this was done so as to not provoke the Chinese goverment.[9]

On March 25, 2010 Thiago Alves was removed from the card due to brain irregularity from a pre-fight CAT scan.[10] After learning of the removal, Ben Saunders, who was scheduled to fight Jake Ellenberger, requested Alves's opponent, Jon Fitch, replace Ellenberger on the card. As a result, Ellenberger will not compete but was promised his "show" and "win" money to make up for the last minute switch. [11]

So this was an experiment in speed and pressure.

I've always seen sports events where the final scenes are edited composites of the ENTIRE event that just transpired little more than 2hrs ago. So I figured to test myself to see how I would do under such a pressured situation.

So this was an experiment in speed and pressure.

I've always seen sports events where the final scenes are edited composites of the ENTIRE event that just transpired little more than 2hrs ago. So I figured to test myself to see how I would do under such a pressured situation.

I cut this off of 4 video sources in 2hrs time before running to the office this morning. It's a promotion for BOTH Act 3 of Armour of Invincibility and UFC 111 for this upcoming weekend.

The co-main event of Mir Vs. Carwin for the Interim strap is a really tough one to call. Going to go with Frank Mir's experience, but I won't be shocked either way.

Yes - should be a good event. Interesting how Alves is out and Saunders is in as his replacement against Fitch. Was hoping to see FITCH-ALVES II (first fight back in 2006).

Yeah ... real toss up between MIR/CARWIN. Both are so skilled ... and Mir = glad to see he's back on track now and fully dedicated/focused after his return years ago didn't go so well when he was out of shape and his heart wasn't into it (coming off that devastating motorcycle accident & substance abuse/depression).

GSP vs. Hardy ... man ... Hardy is a tough dude (been training in martial arts since he was 6 years old). He has a legit chance in that he's smart/on a winning streak/throws HEAVY ... GSP needs to be smart and avoid damage and try to avoid standing with him ... as he won't fare well if he does ... HARDY's stand-up is very strong and he isn't a punkbitch and won't let himself get mentally off-track or shaken by the main event status.

WOW!! You think so.

I don't think GSP should be such a heavy favorite but I got him winning a decision. Hardy won't be an easy out, but GSP should score enough takedowns. I doubt he will be able to keep him down like he did Serra and Hughes. This fight will probably be similar to GSP vs Alves. Alves was strong as hell at first, but eventually got wore out.


I got Carwin by KO or TKO...in the first round of course.

I truly like GSP but Dan will prove to be too strong. Usually GSP bullies his opponents, but I can not see that happening with Dan. I see GSP get knocked out tonight.

Nate's boxing was crisp as fuck....the Diazes are monsters.



I got GSP by 1st round submission...he'll overwhelm Hardy...can't stop the takedown...and it's going to the ground early, IMO.

I got Carwin by 1st round KO...I don't care how much muscle mass Mir put on....you can't bulk up your chin...Mir probly can't take Carwin down and all Carwin has to do get off a jab and it could make Mir's head explode.

And Saunders...maybe the fact that Fitch couldn't have a long training camp focusing on Saunders is good for Ben...wouldn't be surprised if killer b pulls off the upset...and Fitch likes to grapple with his opponents so if Saunders can get a clinch situation and put one of those knees in Fitch's face...it could shake up the division...but I'll be safe and say Fitch via TKO rnd 3.

I was worried he would get hit and dropped but I believe Nate could put on more muscle and fight at 185
he handled dude wayyyyyyyy easier than hardy did but who knows if dude is washed up now or what
nate is looking like nick part 2 and i think he's gonna be better - dude is 24
i think nick's gonna be back in the ufc eventually too

Honestly the guys who are picking Hardy, explain to me why? Before he beat Swick, no one knew who the fuck he was. The man is good but he hasn't beat anyone to make me believe his is the one. He hasn't faced Kos, Finch, or Alves. I see a man that is trying to convince himself that he deserves to be in that cage with GSP and knows deep down that he will have to pull out some eye of the tiger type shit to stop GSP, who has only gotten faster, bigger, and stronger.

And BTW, Nate Diaz will be fighting for the title in a years time. That man is just a beast. Just thinking what Nick Diaz would be like in the UFC.:yes:
