Official NCAA Tournament thread

Yeah that double dribble was tough miss.

Makes you wonder if the refs even recognized what happened at that moment.

They are trained to see that, but I didn't think nothing of it until the replays.

If they swallowed the whistle on purpose, then that's fucked up:lol:

Refs gotta be better, hell the players (Auburn) gotta be better. As soon as that shit happened I was screaming at the screen that's a disc. Just so much bullshit happened in the last 5 seconds

Definitely a double dribble.
Definitely a foul on the 3.
I was surprised he hit all 3 free throws.

Refs were supposed to swallow that whistle on the last shot.
That foul was not "blatant enough" to merit it being called.

Terrible way to win a Final Four game. :hmm:
On some ole ticky-tack bullshit foul getting called... after a "desperate heave" at the rim. :hmm:

Nah man. Let them play it out.
Ball don't lie........... But refs do.

The fix was in. No way did the NCAA want Auburn and Bruce Pearl to have a chance at winning the title with all the corruption allegations following Pearl and his program.

Na man, refs gotta be better than that. That call ends the game

And Auburn have to be better and make crucial free throws.

The finger pointing is equal on all sides, imo.

Auburn missed a free throw.
Miss call by the ref.
Right call by the ref.
Va makes all three throws.

I can't measure which matters more between the miss free throw or the missed call. Both were fails.

Missed call by the refs ends game. Ain't no denying that. He hits the free throw we still going to ot

I can because 1 comes before the other.
If they call the correct double dribble with 1.5 seconds left
there is no play drawn up to get that foul call
VA has to foul and then they get free throws to make or miss.

Disagree. The biggest Fail was the Ref calling a foul on the last second 3-pointer.
That was a bailout call.

Pretty sure there were other 3 pointers that were taken (by BOTH teams) where defenders 'slid underneath' and they just let it go.
So if he wasn't making that 'same call' during the rest of the game..... then he shouldn't START when there is only 1 single second left in the entire game. :smh:

Let them play it out. Don't interfere. (Unless it is a blatant foul) That's what Refs are taught to do.

If you let 50 (similar) fouls slide during the whole game... you don't wait until 'the very last shot' to START calling those fouls. :smh:

I can't because if he hits his free throw everything in that last 5 seconds is different.

I agree with you.

I also agree that it was a foul. I thought it was a blatant foul. Lower body bumps the legs of the shooter mid shot.

However, I also agree that whistles shouldn't determine outcomes like that.

That entire last 5 seconds was pure college fuckery. lol

But you're right @4 Dimensional , he hits the free throw... Auburn plays that last possession entirely different.

That's all I'm suggesting.

I can't measure how one is greater than the other. Both the missed free and missed called shared equal importance to the outcome of the game.

Technically... yes, it was foul.
But it was only incidental contact.... Not Blatant / with intent. (that's why it should not have been called, imo)

And yea I also agree.... the last 5 minutes was just pure college fuckery. Well put. lol.

Virginia is a lucky ass team

If you choke away a ten point lead you don't deserve to win, but Kyle Guy bailed them out.

Dumb foul and the ref should have called the double, but he probably thought the player caused it, because that's what I thought.

If I hit your legs while you’re shooting a 3, you’re probably going to miss.

It wasn’t a “Bailout” call, it was a foul and should’ve been called. Defenders need to learn how to play defense.

Amazing that kid came back out with what happen to his ankle. He's the center of their defense.

College basketball deserves UVA an Texas Tech with the Zion and dook dick eating all year

It's going to be the lowest rated Finals ever

Fuck their Zion Cam

They had to insert coke or heroin in his ankle. I’ve landed on a foot playing basketball and I was out 4-5 months each time.

Whatever they did for him is amazing!

I totally Disagree.

Yes, that absolutely WAS a bailout call. And here's why...

Check the 1:04 mark >> Watch the Virginia defender hit the Auburn shooter's legs as he lands. Ref shoulda blew the whistle & that should've been a 4-point play. Right?

Check the 1:41 mark >> Watch as the Auburn defender hits the Virginia player's arm as he makes a layup. Ref shoulda blew the whistle & that should've been a 3-point play. Right?

Check the 2:25 mark >> The Auburn defender hits the Virginia player's body as he shoots a runner. Ref shoulda blew the whistle & that should've been a 3-point play. Right?

Check the 3:09 mark >> The Auburn defender hits the Virginia player's body as he shoots a putback layup. Ref shoulda blew the whistle & that should've been a 3-point play. Right?

Check the 3:25 mark >> The Virginia defender BARRELS OVER the Auburn player as he sets screen at the top of the key. Literally causing a PILEUP of Auburn bodies. Ref shoulda blew the whistle BEFORE the block happened. Right?

Check the 3:39 mark >> The Virginia defender literally KNOCKS OVER the Auburn player as he takes a layup. Ref shoulda blew the whistle & that should've been a 3-point play. Right?

Check the 3:47 mark >> The Auburn defender literally KNOCKS THE LEGS OUT FROM UNDER the Virginia player as he takes a 3-pointer. Ref shoulda blew the whistle & that should've been 3 fouls shots. Right?

Check the 7:36 mark >> The Virginia player gets fouled SEVERAL TIMES as he takes a layup. Ref shoulda blew the whistle & that should've been a 3-point play. Right?

Check the 8:22 mark >> The Virginia Big Man USES HIS RIGHT HAND ON THE BACK of the Auburn Player AS LEVERAGE TO JUMP EVEN HIGHER & BLOCK HIS LAYUP. Ref shoulda blew the whistle. Right? (Because the foul occurred BEFORE the block happened)

Check the 8:40 mark >> The Virginia player FOULS the Auburn Player as he takes his 3. The announcer even admits it. Ref shoulda blew the whistle. Right? That shoulda been a 4-point play with LESS than 2:00 minutes remaining in the game. Or nah?

The point you are missing is... if you let ALL these other plays go.... And NEVER bother to blow the whistle.... then this is exactly WHY you do NOT call that bullshit... especially with LESS than 1 second left on the clock. :hmm:

If you gonna "let BOTH teams play through fouls"... then "let them play through fouls" >>> all the way until the final buzzer sounds  >>> BE CONSISTENT.

Don't step-in at the very last split-second... to call some utter bullshit. :hmm:

You made valid points, the shooter was still fouled in the act of shooting which makes it a foul.

Yes they missed many calls, it was still a foul that should’ve been called.

The foul wasn’t when the player landed after he shot, he wasn’t fouled before the shot. He was fouled “During” the shot which cause him to miss the shot.

Yes many of the other non-calls you showed were fouls, that doesn’t mean you can’t call an obvious foul because of the previous non-calls.

No, it means the Refs should 'swallow their whistle' when there's LESS than 1 SECOND left in the whole game.... if they have been letting ALL the rest of them (obvious fouls) slide.

Don't wait until the very last second to call any 'obvious fouls'... you've been IGNORING the whole game.
"Better late than never".... ruins the game. (And bails out one of the teams.)
