Official NBA 2017-2018 Thread - Final day of the regular with playoff seating still unknown

4 games in Bruh...
Dude put a LOT of pressure on himself tho. Cat looks like he's about to cry out there sometimes...
Yeah he's gonna need time. He can get to the basket though. He does looked a bit weird at times. He'll be alright with a guy like Simmons running shit out there.

Honestly I think and always believed the sixers got that pick wrong.. he wasn’t worth a lottery pick..

Y’all got mini magic in Simmons where he can theoretically play all 5 positions.. y’all could’ve scooped Tatum or Jackson for the wing
Its hard to say, but yea, with the way Simmons is playing, I could DEFINITELY see Tatum on the wing with him right now. Shit, Tatum might average 20 a game with the dimes Ben lays out there.
Fultz is gonna have to do a lot of damn improving, but I think a lot of his issue is mental right now.

You ain't NEVER lied... Scouting and development staff may be the best in the damn league...

Thing about Murray is, this is the type of player he is going to be.

He has length, speed, and athleticism. He also plays with an edge to his game. Controlled though, at times, but edgy.

He's going to be be pretty good in this SA system while Parker is still out.

He's not confident in his jumper yet. Not a great 3 point shooter, but I can see him having a mid range with the way he plays.

All due respect to Parker but he should stay out. Kid is better than THIS version of Parker could ever be, and the more he plays the more confidence he will gain. Love his temperament too, he's gonna be a solid player for them

Maybe having someone else running the show is the problem.

Fultz doesnt look like he knows how to play off the ball.

Im sure he also didnt expect to come off the bench.

Philly is a bunch a different dudes finding their roles and their place in the NBA. Fultz looks like doesnt know where he fits into all of this.

I agree. I say give it time.

Remember he's 19 so I'm sure that has some to do with it as well. It's tougher mentally for some than others.

This was bullshit and too obvious not to call for the ref to be right there.

Not that it matters, but:

The 2017-18 NBA season saw its first real game-winning buzzer-beater when the Minnesota Timberwolves stunned the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night. The wild game-ending sequence saw Carmelo Anthony knock down a clutch three-pointer to give the Thunder a 113-112 lead with just 4.7 seconds remaining.

Minnesota found themselves without any timeouts left, but a quick inbound and what looked like an illegal screen from Karl-Anthony Towns freed up Andrew Wigging, who proceeded to bank in the long-distance game-winner. It was an exciting moment somewhat overshadowed by controversy.

That sure looks like an illegal screen, doesn’t it? The NBA released their Last Two Minute report from the Timberwolves-Thunder game on Monday afternoon, confirming what everyone thought in real time. It was an illegal screen on Towns.

The NBA Officiating Last Two Minute Report determined the following: “While contact is hard, this is a close play in transition. Multiple angles show Towns (MIN) establishes a screening position in George’s (OKC) path before the contact and he absorbs the contact when it occurs. However, his stance is wide and contact occurs to his leg area, which makes the screen illegal.” That isn’t going to make the Oklahoma City Thunder feel any better, but there you go.

The Last Two Minute Report also revealed that Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau tried signaling for a timeout on the play in question. It’s hard to see on the broadcast footage, but considering the Timberwolves didn’t have any timeouts remaining, this would have resulted in the Thunder regaining possession, essentially sealing the game for Oklahoma City.

“After the made shot, with no timeouts remaining for either team, Coach Thibodeau (MIN) can be seen quickly signaling a timeout behind the back of the slot official and then immediately waving his players up the court. By the time the referee is in a position to notice Thibodeau, he is not signaling a timeout and play moves up the court.”

In fairness to NBA officiating, these kinds of game-ending sequences are filled with chaos. Nobody has any idea what’s going on in real time, and it’s not something you can review after the fact. All that aside, this is another example of the NBA’s Last Two Minute reports doing more harm than good. We all appreciate the transparency, but if you aren’t going to change the result, then what are we doing here?

Was thinking the same thing

Josh Jackson has a real confidence to him like none of y'all niggas can hold me type of confidence
Imagine if the sixers took him #1 to put him with Ben and Embid? Man listen

Simmons already looking like young Oscar Rob out there.. getting double doubles and a triple double through 4 games all organic.. not even stat padding.. kid gonna fuck around and play all 5 positions

If Philly play it smart they winning a chip within the next 7 years

I would have wanted Tatum before Jackson tho. A shooter, scorer with Ben and Embiid spacing the floor would literally make them unguardable

Here is my question though.

If Philly knew they were gonna let Simmons handle the ball, why did they pair him up with another "on ball" player?
Fultz played combo in HS and College. Thing is, if he didnt fuck with his shot he would be ok. The fact that he did has caused a snowball effect

So Anthony Davis is just never going to be healthy? That's what we have to look forward to for his career.

Man you would not believe the amount of times I drove to the damn arena only to see dude in street clothes.

Tyree Evans was the heart and soul of that damn team.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins will be traveling to play the Sacramento Kings for the first time since he was traded by his former team on Thursday.

Cousins sat down for an interview with ESPN that was aired Tuesday and expressed regret about remaining loyal to the Kings organization as long as he did.

"My biggest regret is why didn't I leave when I had the chance," Cousins said. "I had the chance, but I fought it ... I should've left when I had the chance because they told me what would happen."

Cousins said he had an opportunity to leave the Kings after they hired George Karl to be the team's head coach before the 2015-16 season, but he wanted to remain "loyal" to an organization where he spent the first seven years of his career.

Cousins was traded to the Pelicans on the night of the 2017 All-Star Game in exchange for guards Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway and Tyreke Evans along with a 2017 first-round pick.

"I wanted to give it a chance," Cousins said. "My representatives, they told me I shouldn't stay. But, you know, I guess being stubborn or 'loyal' -- I wanted to make things work."

Cousins said the main lesson he learned from his experience in Sacramento was he should've treated his relationship with the organization as "business" and even went as far as calling himself a "fool" for not knowing that earlier.

"All last year I felt that's all it was about," Cousins said. "'(Cousins) got traded and he hates Sacramento,' and I kind of fed into it. But, at the end of the day, it's a business. I kind of blame myself for even putting myself at that point.

"When you come in, you know it's a business. How are you going to be loyal to something that hasn't been loyal to any player that's ever played this game? I was a fool."

The Pelicans' big man downplayed his return to Sacramento and said he doesn't consider it a "revenge game".

"I'm excited to play in front of the fans and see their reaction," Cousins said. "But as far as it just being like a revenge game ... I'm past it. I'm in a good place, I'm happy where I'm at.

"We've got a chance to win, we're playing for something. So, I'm good."

Releasing these bullshit “Last Two Minute” reports is pointless, nothing comes from it and nothing changes.

There’s truly no point other than to make the refs look bad.
