Wow. A lot can be said about Berto but to say he has no POWER is just insane. I know you can't be talking about Andre Berto. Speaking of lower level guys, sometimes it doesn't matter what level guy it is. Styles make fights. Boxing history is loaded with stories of "lower" level guys giving great fighters difficulty.

I don't think Berto has the power to effect elite fighters. Most of his KO's came against lower level fighters, which most prospects get moving through the ranks

Exactly. You couldn't have said it any better. Casual fans, and white media won't realize his greatness until he's gone. People are just too stupid to realize that they're witnessing a man who has mastered his craft. Enjoy it, it doesn't come around too often.

Fair enough. I think it's more accurate, as you said, that he hasn't proven himself. But to say that he has no chance against Mayweather, when Mayweather can't even knock out a lightweight after having every possible advantage, is selling Berto short.

Shane is one of the few opponents that Floyd could face that actually knows how to box. Cotto could only look technical against Marg because he has no technique. It's a shame that people don't even realize that Shane is the champ. He shouldn't have to pull a clubber lane on anybody. People should be interupting his interviews.

Putting it solely in the promoters hands would probably be worse.

They would just match there fighters up against each other and you would have trouble getting fights made between rival promoters (this happens anyways, but without some fighters stepping up a lot of great fights wouldn't get made)

I totally agree letting promoters run the show will only lead to more problems. I think there should be a small committee to handle such a task. It makes no sense having a ranking system if fighters don't have to fight the next man in line.

I see the point you're trying to make, but in the situation they were in it would have been a FIGHT not a boxing match. B-Hop not trying to see Triple H in a real fight, not that it would ever go down like that anyway. If the person you're fighting can literally pick up and and throw you around, you're going to think twice about the confrontation.
