The Boxingtalk crew is split on this super fight

Greg Leon: Timothy Bradley by decision: Unless he gets totally robbed or knocked out, I think Manny Pacquiao's braintrust picked the wrong one. Bradley wins the fight cleanly to stay undefeated

John McCormick: This is a very tough fight to pick, but I have to go with my gut. Book me for Bradley by unanimous decision. I expect Pacquiao to rock Bradley early, but Bradley will gather his head together, rebound, and outwork Pacquiao in a tough, grueling fight down the stretch.

Scott Shaffer: Bradley by decision, although I don't feel confident about it. I see a clash of heads affecting the flow of this fight, with Pacquiao getting cut. Combine this with Bradley's refuse-to-lose mentality, and I like the challenger by narrow decision or perhaps technical decision (if the fight is stopped on cuts).

Doveed Linder: Pacquiao via stoppage. It's a tough call, but something tells me that Bradley is a little too brave. This is the guy who ran 23 miles the week of a fight, just so he can prove something to himself. He's even declared out loud that he wants to feel Pacquiao's punches. Bradley is a great fighter and a great human being, and he might just end up out-working Pacquiao. But if I had to make a pick, I'm going with Pac-Man.

Stephen "Breadman" Edwards: Bradley by decision. Why? See Bread's breakdown of the fight at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=co_i2zSZCRU.

Michael Walters: Pacquiao by unanimous decision. I know the sexy pick is Bradley but, I think Pac will be too fast and powerful for him to handle.

Rob Soucy: Pacquiao is ready to be defeated but is Bradley the fighter that can do it? Pacquiao did not impress me in his close win over Juan Manuel Marquez, and it was the opinion of some that he had come off PEDs. Whether that is true is anyone's guess, but Pacquiao is clearly past his prime while Bradley is in the middle of his. On Saturday night Bradley will struggle to keep Pacquiao off of him. The difference in the fight will be Pacquiao's explosive power and Bradley's lack of it. The only way Bradley will be able to hurt Pacquiao will be with his head. This could be a Felix Trinidad-William Joppy type of fight as Bradley will not easily fold but will be hurt early and often. Manny Pacquiao by brutal knockout.

What a robbery ..... I'm not writing in with enough substance to demand a response .... But we know the deal ... Your fight break down was totally wrong ... Your a Great boxing mind ... I respect u ... I said in my last email PAC would own Bradley .... PAC won 10 rounds easily ... 9 at minimum ... I will keep a mental log ..... I shall see your response to other people .... Do your thing homie .... But your analysis was very off ... Which isn't bad ... We can all b wrong ... GOD SPEED
Bread’s Response: First off let me say that I thought Manny Pacquiao won this fight handily. I publicly apologize to him for disrespecting his greatness. But my breakdown was NOT totally WRONG. Look at the video again. I told you guys that the decision would be controversial in Bradley’s favor. I also said the judges would subconsciously rule in Bradley’s favor because of the Marquez fight. Then if you listened to me close, I told you guys that Manny would NOT be able to “put out” as much as Bradley.

As much as I thought Pacquiao handled Bradley and showed he was the superior fighter. Pacquiao does not have that step on the gas mechanism he once did. In my opinion he has officially slipped. He is still clearly better than Tim Bradley, but his inability to step on the gas, gave those judges a HORRIBLE excuse to rob him. Bradley was breathing hard after four rounds and ready to GO. Pacquiao sort of let him off the hook and allowed Bradley to hustle his way in the championship rounds and that’s exactly where they stole the fight from him. I had a terrible gut feeling that Bradley would win and I couldn’t believe I was picking against Manny. For the record Manny won that dam fight and I am upset but I felt the outcome would be this…..

Bradley is going to win the fight....but the judges are going to give the decision to PacMan. :hmm:

Lol, like that happens all his fights. I think Timmy has a hell of a chance. But I keep think he has done well on a smaller stage. He is entering the ring against a big boy. At the level Manny is at only A level fighters can give him trouble. Timmy is going to outweigh Manny on fight night. But Manny is elite. And the question is really if Timmy is also elite. I don't know. It is a pick'em fight to me.

Bradley leaves himself WIDE open for counters because he wings his punches. I want him to win but he's going to lose if it goes to the cards. He has to knock Pacquiao out to win, but he doesn't have much power.

Bardley 12 KO's in 28 fights c'mon son this dude can't hurt PAC expect if he headbutts with that big ass head he's got and talking about the big ass head that shit is gonna be a big target for PAC's punches

He does leave himself open. No doubt about that. I think he has the mindset to push Manny.

I really think Bradley has a GREAT chance to win this fight. I believe Pacquiao isn't in the shape for this fight as he's been in the past. Plus, his last fight against Marquez showed that PacMan is slipping. Bradley is going to take advantage of this and make himself into a bigger name worldwide.

Manny is almost a 5-1 favorite, which is way too high. Bradley is always in peak conditioning and doesn't fade in later rounds. He's also very strong and is a lot younger. Bradley has defeated southpaws and isn't afraid to uses his headbutt if need be.

Bradley by decision.....if the judges don't cheat him.

Bad style matchup for Bradley IMO...He is aggressive, comes forward all the time, likes to mix it up, but he doesn't have great power. All that plays in to Manny's hands. Bradley might get put to sleep...The flip side is that Manny has not been impressive lately and his skills may be eroding which would make him a big time target for an upset...

That's because he fought Marquez, who has his number.
They can fight 100 times, and he'll look bad 100 times.
Mosley just ran away from him.
If someone attacks Pacquaio like I think Bradley's gonna do, they will get chopped up.
See the Hatton fight as a reference.

my thoughts: unless bradley can actually ko or tko pacquiao (the tko actually more feasible since he would have to inflict a cut(s) with a punch) or manage for manny to get DQ'ed...bradley is not winning this fight on the cards..bradley was no puncher at 140; and he's not going to be one at 147...esp against a man who hasn't been ko'ed in almost 14 years and has beaten down fighters larger than him...there is a high chance it may go to a TD due to bradley's propensity for headbutts...but he's a live dog and he'll def make a fight of it...whether he goes the distance will be the question...undercard is decent..should be a good night of fights..hopefully boxing needs this in 2012

I agree about the Marquez matchup. The first style reference I thought of when thinking about Bradleys style was Rickey Hatton. That is why I think Bradley is tailor made for Manny...add in the fact that Bradley is so brave and hits so soft that I really see him getting floored about round 5 or 6...

Damn fam made one of these also.

I don't have a poll, so I'm delete mine.

The undercard seems cool too.

The three preliminary fights on the pay-per-view portion of the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley card include two world championship fights that could rightly be seen as a proving ground for the four boxers involved.

Cuban defector Guillermo Rigondeaux, a two-time Olympic champion hailed as the greatest amateur in history, is putting an unbeaten record and his World Boxing Council title on the line in a super bantamweight matchup with once-beaten Teon Kennedy of Philadelphia.

The knock on Rigondeaux (9-0, 7 knockouts) is that, after nearly 400 amateur fights in Cuba, he has had trouble transitioning to the pro style. Amateur fights last just three rounds and are scored on punches landed, meaning boxers concentrate on style of technique over punching power. In the pro ranks, title fights go 12 rounds and TV viewers want to see knockouts.

“If he keeps fighting the amateur style, he’s not marketable,” said promoter Bob Arum, who would like to match Rigondeaux against the likes of Abner Mares, Nonito Donaire or Rafael Marquez. “This is not the Olympics where people come and watch because it’s the Olympics. Here we’ve got to sell tickets.”

Kennedy, meanwhile, is ranked just 14th by the World Boxing Assn. despite a 17-1-2 record. And though he has had a loss and a draw in his last two fights, he could go home with a belt if he wins in Las Vegas.

His stablemate Mike Jones could also return to Philadelphia with a world title if he can get by Randall Bailey of Miami (42-7, 36 KOs) in a fight for the vacant International Boxing Federation welterweight crown.

Jones is unbeaten in 26 pro bouts and fighting for a title for the first time.

"I have this chance for a world championship and I'm going to make the most of it," said Jones, who remained composed when Bailey tried to heckle him at Thursday's undercard news conference. "I've wanted a title since I was 15."

For the 37-year-old Bailey, who is trying to show he is still a viable championship contender despite his age, this could be his last shot at a title. He's lost four times in seven previous title fights.

Yep, Jim Lampley picked KO7 Pacquiao on the radio yesterday.

It is all good. As long as cats got a place to talk about the fight is all that matters. I am shocked cats are not geeked about this fight. You got a young cats who has the opportunity to take down a legend. I mean seriously. This fight is more intriguing that PBF vs Cotto. Timmy has a chance. And Manny could get old overnight. I am excited as hell to see how things turn out. If Manny dominates it will be cool. If he gets beat down that will be cool too. This fight can go either way. Bith fighters want it bad.

Bradley has footwork unlike hatton and also has angles...if he fights a disciplined fight he will frustrate pacman and use his aggression against him

I'm going with Bradley by decision.

This is simply because I don't see Pac being on top of his game in this fight.

With the chaos in his camp and his corner, and then seeing him yesterday looking skinny and like he lost muscle.

I think a fighter who's been as high as Manny has in the last 3-4 years probably has trouble getting up for fights like this against an opponent who isn't a big name or a big threat.

I think Manny should win but I'm going to go out on a limb and pick Bradley for the 12 round decision upset.

I agree with everything but one item. Timmy is a threat.

Pac looked weak in that last fight and now that he's supposedly officially off of them roids....Bradley by decision...if the judges play fair:rolleyes:

WTF is lederman on, how the fuck could he give Bailey the 2nd round, Bailey won the first but Jones did a lil more in 2nd round
