I dont even think they need to speed the game up...the problem is that their overall team speed is not sufficient to cope with lazy perimeter defenders... the shit they could do before cant get them by now... they are not playing any differently that before... they just dont have the speed to recover ...ive been pointing this shit out all season....they cant defend on the perimeter... lacking speed is one thing...but when coupling that with lack of effort

Too many angles for these los angels. Kidd always did play the game right, these Mavericks are tasting success.
Eventually the defensive rotations become vuneralble. In a proper game of Defense, switching should never happen. Rotations shouldn't be needed. The Lakers having to rotate to help their beaten teamate starts the Defensive breakdown

i know, and agree with you on their outlook.
my thing with speeding the pace up, it doesn't let dallas get set, and it forces them to use energy to do stuff. it forces them to give effort if they're running up and down the court. plus at this point they need to put on some pressure and get some turnovers and some fast break points, they can't trade baskets with the mavs. and the mavs have proven it doesn't matter what the lakers do, they can get a bucket in the half court when they need it
