had a long talk with my brother who s a big time laker fan/kobe fan.

He finally agree that maybe the lakers time has came and went again.

nothing is wrong with that. they won back to back championships. Also had a little redemption against the team that beat them in 2008.

they had a good run.

First I was thinking maybe some retooling will fix this but honestly who knows if they can.

with the CBA up in the air and Stern hellbent on a hard cap the lakers would likely break their team up any way.

I don't even know if they can trade for Dwight.

I said many times I believe Dwight would be a laker if traded but now looking at the pieces that would be moved.

I'm seriously doubting Orlando who is already in salary cap hell would want to invest in Gasol (especially after this post season) and Bynum who we know is injury prone.

Orlando might do better rebuilding but it depends on what the owners want and how they move forward

As for the Lakers after this series I don't know how they have faith in their core.

this is not losing in the finals or hell even the WCF. This is being dismantle in the second round by the Mavericks.

At least in WCF or Finals you can say okay we just need one thing but now it's like we need big changes.

We won't know what can be done till the CBA is done until then let the circus begins

Yeah it's curtains....once they are sent fishing that team will be dissected with precision and the Zen master is retiring. BUT....no need to hang a head low, Kobe legacy is what it is, and the rings are there. He's just not better than Mike:lol::smh::dance:

Well, before this season Pau Gasol led LA to three straight finals appearances and won two titles while having to deal with Kobe's poor play so...

The Magic wouldn't mind having a guy that good.

Anyway, I think LA has to really pay attention to the bench now, and get a legit scorer off the bench. Kobe isn't good enough anymore for you to have him and a rotation of perimeter players who are average offensively at best.

When Ron Artest is on the court, he doesn't move much, doesn't drive much, and is an iffy shooter. When Lamar Odom is there - he's gotten much better as a penetrator and playmaker, but isn't a consistent threat from the perimeter.

Kobe isn't good enough anymore where he'll draw so much attention where it makes everything so easy for Gasol. You can put a good defender on Kobe and focus on packing the paint. Gasol isn't aggressive enough. Watching the game you see when Gasol gets played physical he settles. He's too patient.

Kobe just isn't the same player anymore, and you have to consider that him not practicing full speed has hurt his game, in addition to the fact that he simply has a lot of mileage.

LA would do good to do what Boston did. Get a player like Ray Allen (easier said than done as he's currently the best at what he does) to help shoulder the load, and spread the share of the offense.

Well, my source told me that it was Khloe and Pau's girlfriend. I trust this persons word, but they could be wrong. This person also found out for me who cranrab was. They could be wrong, all things considerable, it would make SOME sense.
 
ok can we give the mavericks some credit for having a team that mismatches with the lakers squad well. They made a lot of roster moves this year specifically to make this run while the laker's felt they had it in the bag and didn't move anyone.

I mean I am not a laker fan but this isn't anyones fault it just happens in sports you have to change rosters and adapt to the league. This isn't like the Celtics who made moves that appear to have weakened them and cut their window to win short. The Lakers still have assets that team would trade talent for.

They could. But, being down 1-0 and 2-0 is different than being down 3-0.

With the former one won game an you're 1-1 or 2-1. If they win it's only 3-1, and you need another two wins before you can really feel confident.

I don't think LA has the fire needed to win four straight against the Mavs.

If LA wins game 4...you know they win 5 in LA,and the Mavs under pressure in game 6??...is no sure thing.

There's no home court advantage for LA in this series. They just have to play every game now. Because they have to win two in Dallas to win the series.

It has to be about the games now. LA could have been up 2-1, but they're not. They have to win definitively now.

In any case, my associate is kinda sorta in the Lakers organization, but I'm not going to pretend they're sitting in on team meetings. They just happen to have a front row seat to all the shit that goes on in the Lakers organization, and have for over a decade.

To be honest, this makes shit more interesting. I don't want them to lose, but this will tell us more about the Lakers than any series we've ever seen them play.

If they roll over, then we know this dudes are just too fat and satisfied from winning. Three straight Finals appearances and two straight wins will do that to you.

Unfortunately, I do expect Darth Kobe to rear his head at some point tomorrow.
