BTW, when i attend basketball games, i go to watch TEAMS play. apparently some people go to watch individuals.

i ALWAYS say this, but tonight...
not this dallas iteration of the zone. too many dallas players were unfamiliar with their spots in it. you could see the mavericks players pointing each other to spots on the floor. if it's not a reflex action between 2 players as the ball transitions to different spots, you might as well forget it.

i have to agree that tyson chandler and to a lesser extent, brendan haywood have given the team a defensive stability in the paint that they have never enjoyed the past.
if you watch G2 again (especially Q3), you'll see that the dallas mavericks were playing the SAME old stupid brand of dallas mavericks O (bad shots, careless TOs), but the difference is that they got stops on the other end. so whereas the damage in the past from poor possessions were converted into easy buckets, now they have a fighting chance on D to get the ball back.
when you go away from your strength, you've already lost half the battle. going inside to andrew bynum and pau gasol (even if they both go 0 for their first 10 FGAs), is something the fakers MUST do. it gets the mavericks' front line in foul trouble and opens up the rest of the floor.
