took me a 2nd to get the sarcasm in that scene.

And its never mentioned with Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones either.
I have fights about what constitutes a GREAT show...
and one of my main criteria is consistency.
The sopranos took entire seasons off..not furthering the story line no character development nothing.
The Wire NEVER wasted a moment of screen time.
And that goes for Justified.
Never finished an episode and thought what the hell I just watch?
American Horror Story is FAR from a great show but AT LEAST it holds your interest within its own twisted world of sex, violence debauchery and absurdity...
Justified is up there with the best because they make sure every single episode not only tells its own complete story but contributes to a larger over arching story line for the entire season and THEN the entire run of the damn SERIES.
Best, most consistent writing I have ever seen on TV. So many shows start drinking their own Kool-aid and fall off (later seasons of Dexter/True Blood (I still haven't finished season 4). THis is dead on every week. This has some of the best writing on T.V
this thread should have more replies
I know. Wondering about this, too. I only happened upon this show flipping through the channels when Dewey played dead to get out of jail and Raylan ran over the guy....TWICE. When I saw what Boyd did to dude at the end I downloaded and blazed thru 2 seasons in a weekThere hasn't been a huge media push or marketing plan about Justified. Most people I converse with are unaware of the show

Man, Sunday's episode of The Walking Dead was so much fucking pure T trash that I have ever seen on TV. I'd rather watch an hours worth of Trinidad James...on second thought, I'd just rather sleep. This show never wastes my time. I love it
Even though I HAVE cable, I can't stand commercials so I wait til after to watch it. I am fiending for this episode tonight, but it isn't on torrent yet

Boyd homeboy told him whats up, so best believe he got a plan for the crowes and Raylin will let it unfold.![]()
I don't like ranking shows. But this needs to be on rhe list of best show of 2000s. How the main character essentially become a supporting role and rhe show gets better & makes u want to see him more? Incredible. They better address the death of the haitian. I think I know what's coming but they got so many twists.
Cant guarantee for certain, but That may be the catalyst for tension with the crowes, and Boyd will find a way to capitalize. Remember they been in Mexico so whats been going on in the states has not struck them yet, like Ava needing to talk to him.
Cuz, how feel about Ava overall?
I get into internet battles concerning her decisions.

I been down with this show from season 1 and its mainly because of Walton Goggins. He was bad ass on the Shield and he's bad ass on Justified. I hate that next season will be the last one
No. He was Starscream on The Shield. He was a #2 who wanted so badly to be a #1, but he wasn't a #1. The problem with people like him, and we have all met them, is the REAL #1 always ends up having to bail their dumbasses out of shit they got into. An interesting character who always finds himself in the deep end of the pool with no paddle because he thought he saw some gold in there and didn't think shit through.
On this show he is a bonafied #1/ A chess master where everybody else is playing checkers. You may sneak one by him, but it ain't happening often and best believe he got a counter coming your way. One of the most cunning and intelligent criminals I have ever seen.
I love how they smoothly moved the star character in Raylan Givens to a 1B with the story being 1A. I love it. Last week he wasn't in maybe half of the scenes yet the story didn;t falter.
The same thing happened on Deadwood -
Tim Olyphant started as the star but it was Al Swearengen (Ian Mcshane) that owned the show - I think Tim Olyphant is an interesting actor but he is old school leading man in a world of interesting anti-heroes - Raylan may come off as anti- hero-ish but he more John Wayne than Clint Eastwood(man with no name Clint).
@ him getting Wally Pipped on two shows. Never seen Deadwood. Is it worth the watch?

Sad to see the end of them Harris boys.
"Raylin May I be excused from the table"
Im still laughing.
And we still dont know if that asshole can pull off the 21 foot rule!![]()
you ain't never lying. how they are able to fit so much into an hour and still make it interesting is beyond me and my understanding. Excellently written episode. Avon Barksdale watching his brother die and trembling as he battled with whether to go out in a losing blaze of glory or surrender. Beautiful
He was waving that gun around telling the leer story I was like somebody about to get shot!!!![]()
I still need to finish season ONEIt never hit netflix so I'm behind

I tend to watch episodes twice.
I sometimes talk at the damn TV...but never want to miss a line.
the actors they cast are the BEST on TV so much goes on between the lines...facial expressions body movements eyes...
that scene between Ava and Boyd was so brief but pretty much told more story then some SERIES do in in a season.
This is a quick example of their brilliance: for a moment the audience thought that the old man was going to live That Boyd wouldn't kill him. Even though we ALL know if you have watched even 2 episodes he was gonna kill him but they are able to create such complex sympathetic layered characters that you become so INVESTED in them that you constantly go outside logic and hope for the best anyway. And they STILL surprise.
(much like how in every episode we HOPE Raylan goes and sees his daughter)
Ummm this may be the FIRST and only time I disagree with the writers though, the thing with Art? Its getting on my nerves. Well written well acted but because Raylan has so much limited screen time this season I feel like its a waste because we all know what is going to happen.
