holy crap didnt know this thread was still active. dont really use it i've went acer a200 to a asus transformer prime now.its pretty much my son's now and he takes it just about everywhere he goes . i keep it running good and everything. still runs every game we throw at it. and the new games drain the battery more quicker since its underpowered now. its still on 4.0.3 since its stable and the camera works great. might check out this 4.4. would be great to get google now on it
I still have CM9 on mine as well. Oddly, I didn't like the upgrade to CM9 from the previous version.
Yup, followed the instructions to a tee. Took about 45 minutes to an hour from begining to end (I was doing other shit in between) but it booted right up.
Camera still doesn't work though. I thought that would be fixed.
CM11 is cool, but it definitely isn't as snappy on the TouchPad as KitKat is on my Nexus 5.

EDITED to update info from HP regarding the cut-off date. HP has announced that webOS Cloud Services will be continued until March 15, 2015.

webOS Cloud Services to end January March 15, 2015
Cloud services support for webOS devices will be ending on January March 15, 2015. We appreciate our customer's loyalty the webOS platform. But now, more than three (3) years after the last device was sold, only a small fraction of the devices are still connecting. Therefore, the time has come to shut down the services.
All devices running webOS devices will continue to run after the cloud services are terminated. However, they will no longer be able to:
Download new apps or updates. The HP App Catalog will be unavailable after the shutdown
Backup or restore devices from the cloud
Setup new devices
Recover lost passwords
What this means to you:
The HP App Catalog will stop supporting new app purchases on November 1, 2014
Updates may be posted by developers until November 10, 2014 and users can download any available updates until the services shut down
You should make arrangements to backup or transfer your contacts, etc.prior to the service shutdown on January 15, 2015
You will no longer be able to backup, restore, reset or initialize a webOS device as of January 15, 2015

The HP TouchPad was originally released back in 2011 before it was quickly discontinued, but for a tablet that’s about four years old, it seems that it is still going on strong and living a new life as an Android device. We have seen Android ROMs ported over onto the tablet, and last year we saw the the aging tablet still had the chops to run Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Well if you’re after some Lollipop action on your HP TouchPad but aren’t happy with the previous ROM, you might be pleased to learn that the unofficial CM12 ROM has been ported over onto the tablet. CM12 is based on the latest version of Android and will come with all your CyanogenMod features and whatnot.
Now the port isn’t perfect and as noted by the uploader invisiblek, there are some issues. This includes Netflix not working on the tablet, Selinux is in permissive mode, and the camera also busted so if you wanted to take some photos, maybe you’ll want to wait for an updated version of the ROM where all the features are up and running.
In any case if you’d like to check out the unofficial CM12 port for the HP TouchPad, you can do so by heading on over to the XDA Developers forums for the download. As is the case with all unofficial ROMs, be sure to backup your device and follow the instructions lest you end up with a bricked tablet.

HP TouchPad Receives Tasty Lollipop 5.0.2 Via Unofficial CyanogenMod 12 Nightlies
There are two devices that refuse to toe the line when it comes to unofficial software updates; two devices that were released running software other than Android but have had Google’s operating system ported to them and still receive regular updates from a cache of loyal, hardworking software engineers. One is the HTC HD2, originally launched running Windows Mobile and the other is the HP TouchPad, which was launched running Web OS.
The TouchPad was released in 2011 running Web OS 3.0. The hardware is based on a 1.2 GHz, dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor with 1 GB of RAM and a choice of either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage. As for its display, it’s a 9.7-inch 4:3 affair with a 1024 x 768 resolution. It has a 6,300 mAh battery (not so different in capacity to the HTC Nexus 9) but the TouchPad is relatively large and heavy for the size of the screen compared with modern devices. However, the hardware is certainly capable of running Android although the older Snapdragon S3 is not as power efficient or responsive as newer processors, so it is not the fastest nor the most smooth of devices. However, as regular readers will know, Google have put a lot of optimization under the skin of Android 5.0 Lollipop and the latest version, 5.0.2, is reputed to be noticeably better than the original 5.0 release.
Nevertheless, that the TouchPad remains a usable tablet over three years after it was introduced, running a non-standard operating system, highlights one of my favorite things about the Android community: devotion and innovation. It might seem a fools’ errand to install a brand new operating system onto old, unsupported hardware, but this is a fantastic way to recycle products. Rather than bin the TouchPad when Web OS 3.0 was no longer supported, hack the device and install Android Lollipop to give it a whole new lease of life? It’s the TouchPad that I will be writing about today because it’s just received an unofficial port of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Or to be a little more precise, it’s received an unofficial port of CyanogenMod CM12, which itself is an Android-based custom ROM and of course, completely unofficial for the HP TouchPad. El Pirate...if it makes you feel better I took back my iPad 2 today...my brief time w/ the Touchpad has spoiled me as well...the iOS is boring and restrictive...too much so...I just couldn't deal w/ the lack of Flash...after plunking down $500+ for it...of course none of this is new but having the Touchpad just made me hate the fact a lil bit more...in an ideal world I wish I coulda had the Touchpad for $99 and combine that w/ the app library of the iPad...best of both worlds...when the iPad was the only tab on the market I got it cuz I needed something to hold me down when I was traveling...a year later not much progress in the tab game and the whole thing is just overrated...none of the tablets including the iPad has ever given me what I really wanted...still waiting for a Windows-based tablet that operates like a laptop/netbook but in the new tablet form...not them old slabs from before...also I wonder if there's $$$ in a dedicated comic book reader like ereaders...the iPad + Comiczeal is great for reading comics but @ $500 ppl are not gonna spend that just to read comics...I don't have the $$$ or resources to even know where to start but I'd love to see someone come up w/ a dedicated comic book reader...anyway I'm out the tab game until exactly what I want comes out/is released...and yes I had the iPad 2...mods can confirm that yesterday I made a couple of posts using the Dolphin HD browseriPad + Samsung Galaxy + HP Touchpad + iPad 2...and now none
