Mainstream books can never offer creativity.
They are too afraid to shake the status quo.
Recently, one of the comic stores I hit have been giving out free books from his inventory that is not moving. Man, some of these independent comics that came out on the side are great. Going to be getting into 'Sweet Tooth'...
DC has the financial resources, talent and capacity to make some great and thought provoking story lines...They are currently stuck on this 'quick' cash fix that is going to kill their fans in the long run.

They fucked up this entire storyline since issue 2 and Superman: BL...This shit is as bad as Bloodlines. Lots of hype. Cool action figures...no story...lots of colors though.
What sucks is that now when I try to get into a DC fans face about how trash they are...they just gave up now and just be like 'I know...I thought this was going to be hot...it's not...' then I be like 'What no resistance?...' they be like 'Nah...I'm done.'

I sold my 'The Walking Dead' series to a former DC collector recently. This cat was like 'It's OK (Blackest Night) at least they did not use Superboy-Prime in it.' I busted out my Netbook and showed him the 'Blackest Night' issue with Superboy-Prime in it...This dude turn 3 different shades of green on the spot.
As much I'm fascinated with DC's ragnok-style storylines - something about this whole thing doesn't jive;

At the beginning and on the GL DVD, it was stated as affecting the GL books primarily. Then Didio, after the successful Legion of Three Worlds arc, was like WE NEED TO ADD IN SHIT THAT MAKES NO SENSE!.
