@@@Official Cavs thread 2014-2015@@@

I told you....defense is an issue...but this shit is beyond chemistry.....

man the problem is kyrie, period!

now people understand why waiters and him got into it all the time

kyrie goes for self and after getting torched last night he wanted to show he's good

That's what I been saying....

Lebron just bailed Kyrie out, but shit doesn't solve the Kyrie problem...

Help me out. Who was the guy that constantly begged them to trade Kyrie for this very reason (and health concerns)?

Yeah, you did say to trade him. I thought he would change his style of play. He still has time....but he has to be on the clock.

And Waiters sat, now sit Kyrie.....Blatt better not fall for the 'untouchable' Kyrie routine that Scott and Brown did....

Lebron is the coach. so just hope lebron don't fall for it.

Kyrie put up 34 points. The problem is the Cavs don't play defense. They simply don't get stops.

You can't blame Kyrie for stepping up and playing aggressive.

The fuck....this ain't OKC. A Lebron-led team doesn't need that shit from a PG. And 0 fucking assists...I insulted Westbrook that last few days. Irving makes Westbrook look like point guard's point guard.

This offense should be at 106 a night easy. That puts them in a win even giving up 102. You can't get that with a PG having 0 fucking assists.

And I hope Blatt now realizes his problem isn't Waiters. How you sit the supposed ball hog and your PG has 0 assists... :smh:

The Cavs have very poor baseline defense, they keep allowing the guards to get to the baseline (which is actually good) next to close off the base line, which they do, but then they allow a man to cut towards the basket bailing the guy who is trapped in the baseline. They don't anticipate the cut and yet it happens ten times a game.. To their credit they did stop it twice towards the end of the game, but by then it was way too late..
Irving has to understand that every time he beats his man off the dribble he doesn't have to put up a shot. because chances are the man that rotates on him, has to free up his man, so instead of challenging the big man in the paint, he needs to find the open man for the easier bucket, LeBron found Thompson late in the game doing just that..
Plus the team must learn how to defend the pick and roll/pop time after time both players follow the ball freeing up the pick guy, leaving him open for the easy shot..
Lastly Love needs to pump fake a lot more, teams are jumping his shot trying to block it, he could get at least 5 more fouls per game by pump faking...

Not that I'm siding with Kyrie but didn't Chalmers only average about 4 assists a game. The Cavs problem is defense. Blatt may have to go to the trapping style Miami used. During the summer Jalen Rose was saying if Kyrie doesn't work out they should trade him for Bledsoe whose an elite defender at his position. The league is filled with quality replacements at the point.

Chalmers never had the ball in his hands

Chalmers never shot 23 times a game

im not really getting this comparison bro

You must realize that you have a big three. The Heats big 3 of bosh, wade, and Lebron would routinely score 80 points between the 3 of them during a game. So there may not be a high assist total each game.

You blaming Kyrie but ignoring the Cavs true issues and that is on defense. The Cavs really don't get out in transition the way the Heat did. The Cavs defense is terrible.

Whats crazy is that the Cavs was moving the ball around all preseason and even at the beginning of the Knick game, since then it looks like they are pressing, and playing not to fail rather than going out there and playing as a unit supposed to play like.
I will say this, I see slight improvement during the 2nd half where there were some intensity, but they still are making mental laps, here and there.

One red flag, is that Mike Miller one of the best three point shooters of all time, hasn't even gotten a chance to show his skills due to poor ball movement and the Cavs inability to kick the ball out after they collapse the paint.
On the rare occasions when the ball is whipped to the corner three spot, the opportunity for a tray is usually thwarted due to poor passes that breaks the shooter stride.
In order for the Cavs to bring it up a notch, on offense, this has got to be a point of emphasis...

Kevin Love is overrated. He shoots too many 3's. He's unathletic. He's slow footed. He's always going to be a weak link for them on defense especially against athletic big men. Chris Bosh is better on both ends of the court.

0 assists on a team with lebron james and kevin love

ain't no comparison. Chalmers was point guard in ceremony only.
He was out there to guard the other point guard and shoot an open jumper if they saw fit to allow him to shoot one.

There is no comparison other than them both being point guards. What I was saying despite LeBron running the offense Chalmers, Wade, Snow, Williams all averaged around 4 assists a game.

Other than defense and ball movement they have to get some bench production. They have shooters, it's a matter of getting them looks.

White mediocrity = excellence in most fields

a PG going through an entire game with no assists is just fucking crazy to me

It's hilarious to me

and to take the most shots on your team

Dudes get on Kobe and Russ though

I've never seen Russ get no assist
