@@@Official Cavs thread 2014-2015@@@

Why don't you make a thread on the Denver Nuggets, so you the tumble weeds and the crickets could talk about their chances..

I did that all last season bro. Catch up. Nuggets smacking the league up this year famo. We healthy.

Irving back in tonight, Love and Marion sitting.

I just hope they take it easy with Mr. Glass. Only been a week since he sprained it. No need to rush him back.

 Again, looks like Lebron knew his shit when he pursued Love.

And as I said all summer, these folks going to learn about Dion Waiters.

Fuck I don't think Lebron pursuit...Love came out with the Cavs talks first.

Love actually made it easier for Lebron to return.

Coach said Waiters shouldn't be leading the team in shots. That cat jacking up threes at an alarming rate. Still hit over 38 percent of them though.

A lot of those three's that he missed were jacked up and low % when better shots were available..
I think Love should have played last night, only because last night game was worth more than 5 regular preseasons games rolled up in one.. That is because the Mavs play that zone and the way to beat it, is by communication, attacking the weak spot then kicking the ball out.
Having Love there would have given the three a chance to work together and communicate with each other in a situation that forces them to..
Moving back to Waiters, he must understand and learn that his shots is going to be there, if he is patient and that in this offense it better to play smarter not harder..

Seriously Bro you really believe this or is this your new troll schtick..

Famo, unless I say something crazy like the Nuggets are definitely winning the Finals, then no i'm not trolling. While I do believe that we have a chance if we make the playoffs, I know most likely it's not going to happen this year.

The Cavs looked way too deep and keep coming in waves.. The Bulls played very well, and even got a few good bounces on the ball, couple with the fact that the Cavs were often sloppy, but even with all of that and even with LeBron on the bench much of the 4th, they still had no problems winning by almost 10..

Love shot was off tonight... Dude was like 2/10 with 13 boards
Thats what the Cavs players have to do, learn to do more than just score...
This is where I feel Love will be light years above Wiggins, this year..

Kyrie winning the allstar MVP and playing this summer might turnout to be huge.

Allstar game(I got this, I'm next)
Olympic - I'm learning how to lead a team

Now combine that with:
-new coach
-waiters who don't back down but will hold him accountable for fuck up
-Kevin Love
-Lebron the NBA's best coming back to his home team (still in prime years)
-Solid vets on the bench

The Cavs can live with Rose at 30 while Irving gets 28, the problem that poises for Chicago is who are they going to use to keep pace with LeBron..

 It's crazy. Love off...Waiters off...Lebron playing reserved....team still looks great.

Its called taking what the defense gives you, as opposed to trying to force your will... This way the game gets easy and no one has to play too hard... It should also cut down on injuries and fatigue..
I tell you, if Rose tries playing this way every night, he is going to re-brake a bone or two.. At least the way the Cavs played tonight, they should be good playing like this every night..

Seems like Blatt has a nice system in place. Helps that Lebron gets others to buy into it. The bad part for the league is that it is a work in progress and the Cavs already look great.

Man I haven't caught a full game yet

It was a interesting game, that felt like a regular season contest.. The Bulls played very well, showcasing a new offensive style, where they pushed the ball up, moved the ball well spearheaded by dynamic runs led by Rose..
The Cavs were more steady as she goes, and played more of a controlled pace not as spectacular but more consistent..
At first Any led them, followed by LeBron, Irving and even Thompson contributed.. Love had a poor shooting game but rebounded well and managed to find the open player..At times the Cavs played sloppy but at the end they were too much and even when the Bulls made any type of a run, look up at the board two mins later and the Cavs were back up by ten...
You do get the feeling that if the Cavs wanted and played more cleaner, they could have easily have won by over 15.

Whats going to surprise people about this Cavs team is that many look at them and expect to see the Miami Heat 2.0 but insted they are a much different team..
For example they are much more of a gritty blue collar team, yeah the Heat had Haslem and Birdman, both in their primes but they are no where close to the level, skill and energy of Love, Thompson and Andy.
They love crashing the boards actually they where more active that the Bulls, rebounding, the big thing is they play much bigger than their size and have a good nose for the ball..
Another thing, unlike Miami, when LeBron went on the bench, they seem to turn up the hustle and defense.. With the Heat it was always a drop in energy as soon as LeBron took a blow.. In many ways they appeared to be more dependent on James.. Also there are no dead spots for them, they keep scoring non stop, making it almost impossible to catch up to them once they get a big lead on you.
Finally the Cavs big men can post up and are as active in the paint as any team in the NBA, turn your back and try to help out up top and the two big men will eat you alive with layup after layup, and as soon as you put a body on them, then James and Irving will eat you alive..
As soon as they stop making careless turnovers and get better communicating on defense, they will be really really good... The good news is, they seem to get better towards the end of the game making minor adjustments from the start..

LeBron James said of the Cleveland Cavaliers: "We're not a Big Three, we're a team"

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The preseason for the Big Three ended Monday night.

It was all of 32 minutes long -- which is about how much LeBron James played in the Cleveland Cavaliers' 107-98 win over the Chicago Bulls.

When the ball went in the air for the opening tip, James and fellow all-stars Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were on the floor together for the first time against an NBA team this preseason (Maccabi Tel Aviv on Oct. 5 doesn't count).

James, having put up his hand in a sign to Cavaliers coach David Blatt to get him out of the game with 6:29 to go, left to a standing ovation from the 19,049 in sold-out Value City Arena on Ohio State's campus.

James is a Buckeyes fan who has his own locker in the school's men's basketball locker room, stood back from the sideline to wave in acknowledgement. He might as well have been waving good-bye to any more minutes for him, Love, and Irving to play together before the games count on Oct. 30.

James emphatically declared himself out for Cleveland's preseason finale Wednesday in Memphis. The preseason thus ends successfully for James, save for one area: time spent with Love and Irving, who together are supposed to help James make the Cavaliers the East's best team.

"We're not a Big Three, we're a team," James said afterwards. "We're a Big Fifteen."

This was it for the Cavaliers' Big Three because, well, James doesn't want to play in Memphis.

At 29 and entering his 12th pro season, James has made it through these first six practice games healthy and is feeling good about the shape his body and his team is in. Why risk it?

In his last preseason game, James finished with 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. It was the first time he played into the fourth quarter this month. He ends the preseason having averaged 15 points in his five games.

Irving had a team-high 28 points. Love added just nine points but 13 rebounds. Anderson Varejao – not a Big Three member – chipped in 22 points and eight boards. Hence James' declaration that the Cavaliers are more than just three players deep.

"Tonight is a good example of what we can do," James said.

James tried to nip the Big Three talk, recognizing how Varejao, or Dion Waiters, or Shawn Marion feels about his role on the team is just as important as Cleveland's three stars.

But more or less, the issue is that James, Irving, and Love are stars, and stars playing together for the first time need to figure out how their considerable skills mesh in a team setting.

That hasn't happened yet.

An injury to Irving, an injury prevention program for James, and just a night off for Love prevented the three of them from playing together more. It's probably why, on Friday morning before a preseason loss to Dallas, Blatt suggested the three of them would play against the Bulls and in Memphis.

That all changed when James announced Friday night, after the Dallas game, that he planned to sit against the Grizzlies.

"I want my guys coming healthy and happy," Blatt said Monday. "And if LeBron needs to sit another game, he'll sit another game. That's the priority."

Love said Monday night what is obvious – that the cohesion is "going to take a while." He said there were "some offensive juggernauts" on the floor, and that included Derrick Rose, who ran up 30 points and pumped more pace into a game than is common in the preseason.

Blatt, assessing where the Cavaliers stand through six preseason games – five of them won by his team, one to go without his best player -- that he thinks the Cavaliers have "done a pretty decent job putting this together.

"Remember, we're a new team. We're a good team, in terms of the pieces that we have. We're a new group," he said.

The broader picture here is that no matter how many minutes James, Irving, and Love logged together this preseason, they would still need time to mesh during the regular season.

What's that look like? Ask James, whose first year with a previous Big Three in Miami started with a 9-8 record.

The Cavaliers appear on paper to be deeper than that 2010-11 Heat team that struggled at the beginning but reached the Finals. Nine wins and eight losses in 17 games is not something even being whispered around Cleveland.

But there will be some growing pains. Not just for the Big Three, but for the "big fifteen."

"Are we ready for the (season opener), not right now," James said. "We will be. We will be as ready as any team is ready for the first game of the season. At the first game of the season, you're not ready to win the championship then."

I know it's only a sample size of 5/6 games(excluding Kyrie at 3), but the Cavs key players are shooting great from 3 while jacking a lot up.

Love shooting over 4 a game and hitting 45%
Waiters at damn near 5 a game and shooting 41%
Lebron over 3 a game and shooting 50%
Kyrie closing in on 5 per game and shooting 42%

Lebron should have fun with all these 40% outside shooters. Shit, Andy is even getting time to get off his slow mid-range shot.
