Had to be done. 50 years without a championship up here. Lebron is back. Gilbert will be like :money: and people will hate it.

Waiters will shine.

RoadRage may be right about Tristan Thompson.

Irving will miss games.

60 wins minimum......

Love will absolutely feast on the pick and pop with LeBron and Irving, and look for Varejão to also play a big hand in the team success..

Andy and Lebron worked well together in the first incarnation. I actually now see why Lebron wanted Love. He will beast on this team.

Unlike Bosh, I think he could spread the floor and put up way more boards than Bron.

Your 3 spot shouldn't have to crash the boards, you want him on the wing as a outlet on the fast break... With the Heat if LeBron crashed the boards, then they were with out their top fast break guy leading the break, and if he did run the wing on the fast break, then the Heat was with out their best rebounder crashing the boards..
With Tristian, Andy and Love on the Cavs, LeBron is free to do what he does best in the wing attacking the basket on fast breaks, and not worry about rebounding and crashing the boards..

Exactly. Lebron should be third on this team in boards.

More importantly, he should be second in assists.

I agree with this. If LeBron gets his hustle on he should be third in rebounding and second in assist. I'm not going to get my sister out of the house all year. She is the biggest fan I know, and when they have a game you might as well plan on her not showing up. I'm looking forward to see how much he has improved and if he is willing to score 11 points, 9 boards, and 8 assists and they win handily versus 37 points, 9 boards and ate a self and they barely win, or lose

This team can thrive in open and half court. It's the defense that's the problem.

Mark my words their defense is going to surprise a lot of people, defense is hustle, understanding, commitment and communication.. Its a team effort and everyone has to know their role... Every team LeBron was on was a good defensive team, because he is so versatile and dynamic allowing other player to play more aggressive and gamble more.
While poor teams you have to play more perfect because if you gamble and miss there is no one there to sweep up the mistakes..
Just look how poorly they got when he left the Cavs the first time, and how poor the Heat appear to be now..

I mean the defense is the area they have to work on. Offense is fine. Rebounding is fine. Defense is the area of concentration. Once that is done, it's a done deal.

Playing defense in the NBA is more about knowing your players tendencies and communication.. In college you can get a bunch of nonathletic white boys who will choke most teams offense down, not with ability but with knowing their roll and when and how to rotate.. People call Love a bad defender but in reality PF and Centers are really a tandem thats more accurate is you judge them together rather than as individuals... For example Gasol and Bynum as a tandem were lights out, where individually they sucked.. The playoffs just proved how Ibaka Perkins were effective together, and Gasol and Randolph are one of the best defensive tandems but individually not so great..
With Love he was paired with Peković a player who had almost identical defense skills as he, and instead of complementing each other with variety, they sort of overlapped their inability.. On the Cavs Love will be teamed with Andy and Thompson, two players who game is totally opposite from Love.. This way with proper communication Love could stay in his lane playing to his strength while they complement him by playing to theirs, very little overlapping and much more complementing..
With Waiters and Irving, young guards tend to be over aggressive and not understand where the help is, this is where LeBron can help, James will be their field general, calling the picks and reminding them where the help is, this way they wont try to guard the whole floor but rather switching off as soon as they guided thier opponent into where help is waiting..

Lebron is the greatest player of this era. I just wish he went out west to show he could make any team dominate.

I'm more worried about Irving than any other starter. His fragile ass trying to fight through screens is an injury to some body part waiting to happen. Diving on the floor is out for him too.

I'm not worried about Waiters on defense.

If you looked at Irving during the fiba team usa play, you could see he has all the making of a great defender, he has fast hands quick feet and good awareness... Unfortunately these may be good in the playgrounds and pick up games, but in the NBA a good player could use this against you.. What he needs to do is learn how to play system defense instead of being flashy going for every steal and not relying on his teammates to back him up... To him and Waiters defense perhaps their teammates wasn't that reliable in the past making them feel they had to do more than they were capable of..
In the fiba games Irving played very well under the system leading me to believe he will be just fine..
When I was young I used to have the same problem used to go for every steal, and was good cause I had very fast hands and feet, but one day this old school kat schooled me telling me to ignore the ball and only concentrate on my opponent chest, and with that advice I became a beast, likewise Irving needs to stop tying to do too much and focus on his man and have better court awareness as to where the help is coming from and he should be fine.
In short he has the tools to be a great defender, and what he lacks can easily be taught, with me I grasped the concept instantly, so I think Irving can do the same.

You know I normally do these threads but outta my respect I held off...

If healthy I think around mid season they're likely to be in a nice groove

I think they are going to be better quicker only because most of the teams in the east have custom designed their defenses to combat against the Heat, where they would pack the paint and dear them to beat them from the perimeter, many experts expect that to carry on to the Cavs.. But what they fail to understand is that if they do that it would be playing into the Cavs hand, only because, unlike the Heat the Cavs are designed from day one to be a outside shooting first team.. So if teams like the Bulls attempt to defend the Cavs the same way the defended the Heat, expecting the same results, well they need to consider these things first, 1- the Cavs are a better three point shooting team, and 2-Unlike the Heat who where the leagues worst rebounding team, the Cavs stand to be the league best, so instead of gearing up for the Heat 2.0 the Eastern teams need to think 2010 Lakers or Magic showtime Lakers (teams that would have easily dismantled teams like the current Bulls and who ever else is supposed to be competitive in the east.
In other words if you want to math up with this current Cavs team you better have a team that resembles the old Celtics or old Piston squad, and in my opinion there are no teams like that in the NBA, the closest to those old squads would have been the Pacers, but they are way too discombobulated to be taken seriously..

Predictions from the Cavs' fans......

Top 3 scorers for the team with ppg

Top 3 rebounders for the team with rpg

Top 3 assists for the team with apg

Damn those predictions are high

No...I want them in Cavs numbers.

With Miami, Lebron had to lead his team in everything. I just want to see how fans break THIS Cavs team down.

For example.... Rebounds

Love 11
Thompson 10
Lebron 6. something

I understand what Blatt is trying to do, but I warn that his plan to rest LeBron is a big ass mistake..
Going into last season the Heat plan was to rest Wade and the strategy was similar, less games = less wear and tear = being fresh for the playoffs... That was the plan, at least, and yes on paper it does make sense..
But as the result, the Heat played more closer games, as opposed to them blowing everybody out the year before allowing their stars to often sit out most of the 2nd half.. Then Wade absence forced players like LeBron to have to step up and play harder.. Team were able to pack the paint forcing LeBron to be more active and help out with the rebounds, and when the smoke cleared at the end of the season, not only was Wade playing more tired and rusty than ever, the rest of the team also looked worn down..
Even in football I've seen this happen, where teams like the 49ers go into preseason with the strategy of resting their stars with the thought of keeping them fresh and free from injuries, but what happens, every season, is that they appear to be out of playing condition and wind up with the most injuries in the NFL, year after year, and the ones that don't get injured wind up worn down due to the extended minutes they were forced to play, due to the other players being out..
The best way to get players like Love and Irving injured, is to forced them to take up the slack left behind when resting LeBron...

I knew Love and Waiters was good, but watching them in action they are even better than their highlights.

Update bro!!!

25pts 8 for 11 in 21 mins 5-7 from the three, give him a inche and he is going to hit, all net... But his passes especially fast break outlet, are amazing... Those boys are going to be running and gunning on the fast break..

Don't know how you slept on those cats...

I been referring Waiters as a Lance Stevenson type player. Dude questioned the coach and star player(swung on him) for the betterment of the team. Waiters back up his talk, Irving miss time he handled the leader duties.

If anyone questioned Kevin Love skills didn't really pay attention to the Olympics.
As first he looked outta place, but after a sit-down with Coach K , he was straight.
I always felt him and Lebron had get chemistry out there(it's hard to not to have it with Lebron).
Launching a zillion 3's is one thing, but rebounding takes effort, understanding and energy.

Don't worry. Something will go wrong this year.

Fuck around this is the year Rose is healthy.

I knew Love was nice but dude don't miss, and his stroke is butter as silk, don't matter who is in his face.. Plus his outlet full court passing is the best in the league.. Wade and LeBron are good, but dude doses that shit four times a game..

Been saying that Love was a stud. Bitter Dudes talking about CAC this CAC that, Dude is a throwback lunch pail type that will give you number every night. Hollow stats my ass! top 3 PF in the league and this season he a WILL be a problem!
