Official BREAKING BAD Season 4 Discussion Thread 10p SUNDAYS

You are in a thread where people are talking about everything that happened last night...this entire thread is a spoiler.

Did you come in here to just scroll past all the text and not read any of it too? :hmm:

 I'm with you on this. lol. Why the fuck would you come in this thread and then complain about spoilers? I don't come in this thread UNTIL i've watched the show. I specifically don't come in this thread. lol

Am i the only 1 thinking that Gus had a boss? Gus wasn't moving all that product dolo. He had business contacts. Wasn't there a German business he was affiliated with? Germans do crazy meth too.

season ender was epic. it had everything.

comedy, drama, suspense, action and answered some questions.

i died laughing when hector was in the dea office.

for those who listened the podcast. the transformation is complete.

walter: i won.

how did gus survive a full blast like that long enough to walk out with half his face blown off? dude was bad ass even to his death

Damn I didn't even see that coming.

That was crazy

holy fuck!!!

Oh Shit. They caught Gus slipping.

:puke::smh: that shit was wild.

walt actually poisoned the kid:eek:

He got his swagger back. First time the whole season that he didn't look like a maniac trying to pull some shit off.

So Walt did poison him. I knew it!!

he died cuz he fucked up and let his emotions get the best of him. he always wanted to kill old dude himself, and since gus thought that he was speaking to the dea, he felt that there was a time limit to kill him, with his own hands.

He wanted dude to suffer in that nursing home for the rest of his life. It became necessary to kill dude after he went to the DEA. Gus thought it was clear and he wanted the final satisfaction of offing dude himself. Stupid, but he saw no danger cause he saw no cops, no wires and no connection to Walt or anyone else he had beef with.

All I know is that the actor who plays Walt said, in an interview, that he was told by the shows creator even before they shot the pilot that the point of the show was to make his character into Scarface...

The background music for this episode seemed so perfect. When Gus walked up to Tio's room....the buildup...wasn't as tense as the "one minute final scene" but damn if the music while they burned the lab down wasn't appropriate.

I think we're gonna find out who Gus really was in the next season.

Walt still has paper.. he just didnt have enough to "dissapear" his whole family.

The cats online on Reddit and on podcasts are damn good. The photo of "FACE OFF" (Gus missing half his face) was leaked earlier last week with people asking if indeed he got blasted like that. Supposedly someone on-set leaked a screenshot. I linked to it a few days ago, but decided to edit my reply in this ongoing thread here as I didn't want people getting too fucked up in case it was just a plant from the production people trying to fuck with fans =) - shit was wild though - Terminator 2 / 2-Face-style for real - caught us all off-guard. Also, people were pointing out an episode or two back when Walt's in his yard with the gun and spins it 3 times. Twice it points to him, and the 3rd time it points to the PLANT. Also, Cranston was on Letterman's show last Friday night and said the closing shot of the episode was without dialogue, and when it panned in on the object the AUDIENCE would know exactly what had occurred and that they could piece things together. Good shit. We watched it as a group here (Canadian Thanksgiving weekend) and played the final few minutes back for the sheer "OH SHIT!" factor. Casa Tranquila ... - TRANQUIL HOUSE? Hardly!

anybody feel gus didnt have to go out like that?

how many times has walter fucked jessie over majorly now? i wonder if he'll find out about the other shit. Still hasnt found out about his girl.

i disagree. and i'm not saying that walt hasn't done those things.
... but not cold-blooded.
What's more col blooded than a .38 to the face in the Gus' lab? Or getting ran over by a minivan then getting 2 shots to the dome? Gus was a repressed evil sombitch.

The wild thing about this show on the westcoast is that it airs at 7pm for us. Always leaves us like - WTF (considering all the violent shit that has gone on in the series prior to the 8pm finish).

From mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher to a ice cold-blooded murderer. C'mon, how are you going to send your innocent elderly neighbor to your crib to flush out hitmen?!?!? Talk about a canary in a coal mine.

Mr. Walter White has truly broken bad.

Exactly. We were laughing (and on the edges of our seats) like - "Aw hell nah ... that's cold. The neighbor? She better not get blasted once she leaves the residence with the guys coming around the corner from the backyard."

Man, I don't think even the writers on the show could be that black-hearted. But I did expect her to catch a few to the dome as just the writers way of fucking with the audience.

nah he really broke bad, when he was more cncerned with telling skylar that he "won" his lil cat and mouse game with gus as opposed to reassuring her that the family was safe...that and the fact that he has no problems with poisoning kids.

just goes to show you that anyone is capable of anything once you're in the right situation...

Same here, bro. Or taking her inside and keeping her captive for some time and grilling her on Walt's whereabouts, or if she knew anything about where the family was staying at. Any leads kinda-thing. That shit would have been cold if they blasted her though and then just left the neighborhood.

I would like to see another season but I wouldn't be mad if they left it at the last episode.

I was blown away (no pun) by this episode, wow.

But Walt said in an interview that Walt will eventually see his end. He can't survive forever. Expect it.

16 episodes remaining.

8 and 8.

No word on how long the break will be, or if episodes 9 - 16 will be considering the "6th season" portion.

No set date for the premiere, but it will be airing in 2012 ... or 2012/2013 (all depending on how long a break they take between the 8 episodes apiece). Season 3 wrapped in June 2010. Season 4 began in mid-July 2011. Hopefully we don't have to wait that long for the 5th season.

I gotta angle for next season. If Walt doesn't remove that plant and Jessie sees it, Walt is gonna a whole new set of problems. Jessie knows how to produce the product and Mike's the muscle!!! Any thoughts???

The creator of the series has said time and time again that it will all be ONE SEASON.

Interesting scene where Walt was spinning the gun on the patio table; that was the reveal as the third time he spun the gun it pointed at the poisonous flowers in his backyard. So from this point on somewhere, Walt found time to go poison Brock. It was never revealed what happened to the laced cigarette. That shit may still be out in the field.

The unresolved issues for the last 2 seasons are:
The Cartel
Mike is gonna come back eventually
Hank vs Walt (inevitable)
Jesse vs Walt if Jesse finds out Walt is responsible for Brock's condition
Walt's cancer and his family's finances (the original reason he went this route). Walt wanted to provide for his family in case of his death. His cancer seems to have been successfully treated. Will it return? Will he feel the need to still "provide" now that he is seemingly healthy? Will he cook and distribute to make up for the lost money that Skylar gave away.

what evidence is there that Walt poisoned the boy

there isn't. it's speculative based on jesse's explanation on the hospital parking structure roof top COMBINED with the final shot in the backyard.

if that's where the writers want to lead the audience, i'll tolerate it.

Could Gus still be alive? I think the news report wasn't clear about his death. I doubt it but you never know.

He's dead.. Here is a quote from the creator on the subject...

"[laughs] There will hopefully be no ambiguity. I suspect that some people might think that he may show up with steel rivets in the side of his head, looking like the Terminator next season. But I very much doubt that will happen. At the end of the day, the show is about Walter White and his journey from Mr. Chips to Scarface. In that regard, he has to, with every season, get a little further down that path. He really was under the thumb of this character for the entire season – more than a season now. And while I think the audience will miss Gus greatly, I think also there is a satisfaction to be gleaned from Walt persevering and succeeding."

What's more col blooded than a .38 to the face in the Gus' lab?

that wasn't cold blooded. walt was freeing his ally who was being held hostage at gunpoint and forced to cook.

pseudo-cold blooded is the call on gale. it would be full cold-blooded if walt carried out the hit himself. asking someone else to perform a mutually beneficial murder doesn't qualify as cold blooded.
