Official Boxing Thread

I doubt anyone of is truly scared of anyone. It's a money and power game. Bud doesn't realize he isn't worth his asking price (60-40,) and Arum isn't going to negotiate with any PBC fighters.

As far as Bud losing to Porter. I can't see it. Porter doesn't have the skillset. Porter's at his best when he can maul and bully guys, but Bud is just as strong, and has the stiffer/harder punches. I'd say Bud is as strong as anyone at 147. Brook laid the blueprint on how to beat Porter years ago and Thurman followed it up. Move, box, and tie him up.
I hate triangle theories in boxing, but Brook figured out, and neutralized Porter easily in their match. Yet Brook showed he had zero answers once Bud switched to southpaw. It'll probably be an ugly (Porter) type of fight, but I see Porter losing the UD a la the Thurman fight.
Porter is Bud and Spence mandatory, but he said himself he wants Crawford. Bud said Porter isn't a draw so he isn't interested. Shit YOU ain't a draw right now either according to YOUR promoter. But together it's a must see fight. Bud finally gets tested by a real dog I'm with it!!!

This I definitely agree with. Bud isn't drawing numbers for TR, though he's not solely at fault for it.

We'll see what happens late next year when it comes time for Bud to either re-up w/ TR or leave for a different promotion.

His last fight had the top ratings viewership for the 2 years for boxing on ESPN. Before the Covid shit he always had good attendance gates and alot of regular ticket sellouts. TR is full of shit if they saying he not a draw. He not a star but he puts people in the seats.

Terence Crawford knockout of Kell Brook a massive ratings success for ESPN

I thought Lopez vs Lomachenko did more views. I'll have to look it up

Just linked an article, there are multiple listed saying the same

.

Loma vs Lopez peaked at 2.8 mill. I guess there are some issues w/ counting views from the ESPN+ app, but whatever you're right. He did great numbers in his last outing.

When comparing Bud's ppv numbers to Spence's they don't hold up. Spence is definitely the bigger draw.

Compare the people they fought on PPV, no one knew and still knows who Victor Postol was, HBO didnt want to buy the unification fight so they put it on PPV, Amir Khan was washed and a shitty matchup. If you matched Bud with Porter or Garcia on PPV the numbers would be similar. Fact is that Crawford was selling out arenas before Spence was on main events. To me its a 50/50 or 45/55 split. This draw shit is what irritates me about the fight game the past 15 years. They both draws and should be paid accordingly.

I hear you, and I agree. Terrence talking 60-40 his favor is ridiculous, especially with his promoter repeatedly lambasting in public.

Errol has more fight options (albeit) none as good as Bud, but still interesting fights. If the fight doesn't happen while Bud is w/ TR, hopefully he leaves and signs on w/ a promotion that has better competition or willing to work with their competition.

Clean shot.

I'm pulling for Joshua, but, Tyson Fury is gonna be his hardest fight. Fury is a boxer - through & through

Just realized Mark Hunt hasn't had a pro boxing fight in 20 years. He's facing former Rugby player Paul Gallen mid week in Australia.
