Floyd actually LOST weight the day after the weigh-in and had to eat a big meal.

Canelo Alvarez was diagnosed on Monday with a fracture in his right thumb and will not fight again this year, Golden Boy Promotions announced.
Alvarez, the lineal middleweight world champion, moved down to the junior middleweight division and stopped England's Liam Smith in the ninth round to win a 154-pound world title on Saturday night before 51,240 fans at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington, Texas.
Golden Boy spokesman Stefan Friedman said Alvarez visited hand specialist Dr. Pedro Jaime Lomeli in his hometown of Guadalajara, Mexico, and after undergoing X-rays and a CT scan, he was diagnosed with an avulsion fracture of the right thumb.
"Canelo does not need surgery, and the prognosis is excellent," Friedman said. "Canelo's hand will be immobilized for the next six weeks, and he will be unable to fight again in 2016."
Alvarez said after the fight that he hurt his right thumb in the second round, but he still produced three knockdowns, including one with his right hand.
Alvarez (48-1-1, 34 KOs), 26, knocked Smith (23-1-1, 13 KOs) down with a right hand to the side of the head in the seventh round, with a left hook to the body in the eighth round and, finally, with a fight-ending left hook to the body in the ninth round that sent him to the mat in agony, prompting referee Luis Pabon to wave off the fight without a count at 2 minutes, 28 seconds.
Alvarez came to the postfight news conference with his right hand wrapped in a bandage but said he did not think it was broken. He said that when he suffered the injury he relied more on his left hand than he had planned to.

Tyson Fury declared 'medically unfit to fight'

Heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury pulled out of his rematch with former champion Wladimir Klitschko on Friday because Fury is "medically unfit to fight," his promoter said.
The fight had been scheduled for Oct. 29 in Fury's hometown of Manchester, England.
Multiple sources with knowledge of the correspondence between Fury's camp and Klitschko's camp on Friday said it included a letter from Fury's doctor. The letter said Fury had mental health issues and would be "unavailable for the foreseeable future."
Mick Hennessy, Fury's promoter, released a statement Friday afternoon, but he did not divulge Fury's medical issue.
"It is with the deepest regret that we have to announce that the world heavyweight championship rematch between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko will not be going ahead," Hennessy said. "Tyson has, this week, been declared medically unfit to fight. Medical specialists have advised that the condition is too severe to allow him to participate in the rematch and that he will require treatment before going back into the ring.

After being informed of Fury's withdrawal, Klitschko's attorney, John Hornewer, wrote a letter to various sanctioning bodies. In the letter, obtained by ESPN.com, he wrote, "Earlier today, the Klitschko camp was informed by the Fury side that Tyson Fury will not be fit to participate. ... On behalf of Mr. Klitschko and K2 Promotions, LLC, this office respectfully requests that the organizations make the appropriate inquiries of Mr. Fury as per your rules and regulations and that you keep the Klitschko camp informed of your progress and decisions related to this matter.
"Please permit this to confirm that Mr. Klitschko remains ready, willing and able to box and will await word on next steps."
It is the second time the rematch was erased from a planned date. The fight was originally scheduled for July 9, also at Manchester Arena, but Fury pulled out in late June after he said he sprained his ankle during a training run and his doctor told him he needed to lay off it for about six weeks.
When the fight was rescheduled earlier this month, the camps scheduled a news conference for Sept. 5 in London, but it was called off the day before. It was rescheduled for Sept. 12, also in London, and while the promoters and Klitschko, 40, showed up, Fury, 28, skipped it. He said his car broke down.
"Wladimir is totally disappointed that the guy postponed again," Bernd Boente, Klitschko's manager, told ESPN.com. "Wladimir is being held hostage by this guy. He wants to fight, he trains, and now the first fight is almost a year ago. It's up to the governing bodies to make a decision regarding the titles, but that is not in our hands. We hope Wladimir can fight again soon."
Last Nov. 28, at ESPRIT Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany, where Klitschko (64-4, 54 KOs) is a major star, Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) pulled off one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight history. He ended Klitschko's 9½-year title reign by unanimous decision (116-111, 115-112, 115-112) to claim his various sanctioning-organization title belts and the lineal world championship.
Fury was later stripped of one of the belts for failing to fight a mandatory opponent because Klitschko exercised his right to an immediate rematch, as spelled out in their contract in the event he lost.
The latest withdrawal could lead other organizations to strip Fury for inactivity.
Fury tested positive for the banned steroid nandrolone in an earlier fight, even though, for reasons that are unclear, the results did not come to light until June, well after he had beaten Klitschko.
Fury, who denied taking a banned substance, faces a Nov. 4 hearing, and if found guilty, he could be banned. Testing for the rematch was being overseen by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association. According to sources with knowledge of the testing, Fury already has been tested twice, but no results have been disclosed yet.

Jack, who hails from Stockholm, Sweden, but fights out of the Mayweather Boxing Club in Las Vegas, captured the WBC super middleweight strap by pulling the upset on Anthony Dirrell in April of last year.
In his first defense of the title he defeated George Groves in front of 80,000 13,395 people at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in the co-feature to Floyd Mayweather’s swan song against Andre Berto last September.
A majority draw with Lucian Bute then followed but the Canadian tested positive for a banned substance. The results for that fight have yet to be overturned by the DC commission so the blemish remains Jack’s his record.
Jack was the underdog in all three of those fights. It’s role that he has grown to embrace.
“It gives me more motivation to train even harder and to be successful,” Jack said. “I just want to be great. To be honest, I like being the underdog and I want to continue being the underdog for all of my fights and for the rest of my career, if I can. I have no problem with that.”
With just one Premier Boxing Champions card currently on the calendar, and rumors swirling that Haymon’s venture may be struggling financially, it remains to be seen if Jack and DeGale will face off before year’s end. Both fighters are advised by the enigmatic businessman.

As reported by Bleacher Report and other outlets, Anthony Joshua, undefeated Olympian and IBF heavyweight champion, is in negotiations to face the once long-reigning kingpin of the division, Wladimir Klitschko on November 26th. Location and other notable details are not available yet, but this is massive news coming in the wake of unified champion Tyson Fury pulling out of the bout to mental health issues.
Also whether this will be for any or all of Fury’s belts has yet to be determined and should be within the next few days. Sources close to the situation hint that an official announcement will come within the week.
First off, Eddie Hearn, the notorious U.K. promoter, has thrown another cash cow, and his biggest, to another high-level wolf. From Kell Brook and Anthony Crolla to now the even less experienced Anthony Joshua. His reputation, whether fans have realized it yet, is completely on the line. If another golden ticket of his is destroyed by superior competition it may be a deterrent for future prospects signing with Hearn.

World heavyweight champion Tyson Fury could be stripped of his world heavyweight titles after reportedly testing positive for cocaine.
Fury pulled out of his October 29 rematch with Wladimir Klitschko on September 23, after being "medically unfit".
It was the second time that Fury had pulled out of a clash with the former champion, having previously withdrawn from the original July 9 date with an ankle injury.
However, according to ESPN, Fury tested positive for the drug the previous day, September 22.
Fury reportedly failed a Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) conducted test, with cocaine found in a random urine sample taken in Lancaster.
A letter from VADA president Dr. Margaret Goodman, sent to representatives for Fury, Klitschko, the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC) and the United States' Association of Boxing Commissions on Thursday night, confirmed that Fury's 'A' sample had tested positive for the substance benzoylecgonine - the central compound found in cocaine.
The letter, which ESPN claim to have obtained a copy of, declares:
"This letter is to advise you that the 'A' sample urine specimen number 4006253 collected from Tyson Fury on September 22, 2016 in Lancaster, England through his participation in the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) program has been analyzed for anabolic agents, diuretics, beta-2 agonists, stimulants and drugs of abuse.
"The results of the analysis are as follows: Adverse. Urine specimen contains benzoylecgonine."
"Mr. Fury has the right to promptly request analysis of the 'B' sample at his expense."
Sunday Mirror Sport recently revealed that Fury recently refused to undergo a check when visited by inspectors from the UK Anti-Doping Agency.
After the snub the boxer’s representatives contacted the drug testing body to reschedule - but that has not yet happened.
A source said: “Tyson was visited by testers over the last few weeks but just refused. He said, ‘F*** off’, and wouldn’t do it. His camp tried to contact UKAD to get him tested but to date that has not taken place.”
When the Sunday Mirror contacted Fury’s uncle, Peter Fury, he said: “This is all confidential information so I can’t discuss anything relating to UKAD allegations.
“It’s private information and I’m not allowed to divulge anything about the doping allegations at all, period
Those revelations come just months after we revealed the world heavyweight champ was being probed by officials after traces of a banned anabolic steroid were allegedly discovered in a sample taken last year .
Experts are understood to have found unacceptable levels of nandrolone in a sample taken before he won the world title from Klitschko.
Test samples understood to have been taken between February and March last year, ahead of Fury’s first bout with the former champ, sparked the probe by UK Anti-Doping officials.
Fury denied the allegations.

Troubled heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has not trained in months. He's also fighting depression, has suicidal thoughts and a drinking problem, and has, in his own words, "done lots of cocaine. Lots of it."
Fury made the admissions Monday in an interview with Rolling Stone that was posted on its website Tuesday. At the time of the interview, Fury said he had been sober for three days.
"Listen, I've done a lot of things in my life. I've done lots of cocaine. Lots of it," Fury said in the interview. "Why shouldn't I take cocaine? It's my life, isn't it? I can do what I want. Yeah, I have done cocaine. Plenty of people have done cocaine as well. What the f--- has that got to do with anything?
"That ain't a performance-enhancing drug. Am I not allowed to have a life now as well? Do they want to take my personal life off me, too? I've not been in a gym for months. I've not been training. I've been going through depression. I just don't want to live anymore, if you know what I'm saying. I've had total enough of it. They've forced me to the breaking edge. Never mind cocaine. I just didn't care. I don't want to live anymore. So cocaine is a little minor thing compared to not wanting to live anymore."
Eleven months ago, Fury won the heavyweight title by unanimous decision against Wladimir Klitschko in a massive upset, one of the biggest in history. But it has been all downhill since for England's Fury, who pulled out of a July rematch, claiming a sprained ankle, before the rescheduled Oct. 29 date was canceled two weeks ago.
Asked whether he scrapped the July date because of his problems, as opposed to an ankle injury, Fury said he had.
"To be honest, yes," he said. "I've not been in the gym for months. I've been AWOL. I've been out drinking, anything to get me mind off what's been going on to me."
ESPN reported that on Sept. 22, the day before Fury withdrew from the October fight, he submitted to a random urine test conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association, which the fighters contracted with to handle testing. The test was ultimately positive for cocaine.
Now Fury risks being stripped of his two world title belts for the positive test, as well as inactivity that seems certain to go beyond one year. But Fury (25-0, 18 KOs), 28, clearly has bigger issues in his life right now than whether he keeps the belts.
"I'm going through a lot of personal demons, trying to shake them off," Fury told Rolling Stone. "This has got nothing to do with my fighting. What I'm going through right now is my personal life. ... They say I've got a version of bipolar. I'm a manic depressive. I just hope someone kills me before I kill myself."

When Fury attended the Deontay Wilder-Artur Szpilka heavyweight title bout in January at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, he was seen by many, including media members, at an after party in the arena. Fury was drinking heavily.
"I'm in a very bad place at the moment," Fury said. "I don't know whether I'm coming or going. I don't know what's going to happen to me. I don't know if I'm going to see the year out to be honest. I am seeing help, but they can't do nothing for me. What I've got is incurable. I don't want to live. All the money in the world, fame and glory, means nothing if you're not happy. And I ain't happy. I'm very far from it."
In the interview, Fury, who also faces a November hearing for a failed drug test for the steroid nandrolone in a fight before he faced Klitschko, blamed many of his problems on a "witch hunt" since he won the title. He said it's because of his heritage.
"Because of my background, because of who I am and what I do -- there's hatred for Travelers and gypsies around the world," said Fury, an Irish Traveler, which is a group of about 40,000 nomadic, religious people who live throughout Ireland and the United Kingdom and fight among themselves for sport. They have been persecuted for centuries.
Fury said he thought there was some sort of conspiracy to get him out of boxing.
"They've tried to get me chucked out of boxing because they cannot tame me, they cannot hire me, I'm not for sale, no one can turn a key in my back, no one can do nothing to stop me," Fury said. "So now they're saying I took some cocaine and whatever. Listen, if I had some smack, I'd take it. If I had heroin, I'd take that, never mind cocaine, for what they've done to me. It's a travesty what they've done.
"I want to expose them for what they are. The British Boxing Board of Controls is in on it too. They're all in it together. The drug-testing companies are in on it as well."
Fury also complained about the frequency of the drug testing.
"They tested me about six times within a few weeks," he said. "Only recently, three days ago last week, they came to my house at 1:30 in the morning, tested me and came back at 9 a.m. to test me again. What is this? Do you understand the treatment I'm getting off these people? They're driving me mad.
"It is crazy that's what's going on, but listen, I don't really care. They've won. They've got what they wanted. That's it. I'm as fat as pig. I'm 285 pounds, 290 pounds. It is what it is. I've been out. I've been an emotional wreck. I've been on a mission. I've been out trying to handle me life."

Saunders concerned Fury 'won't see 30'
Tyson Fury's friend Billy Joe Saunders fears the heavyweight will be dead by 30 if he "doesn't get the help he needs".

It was announced Wednesday that welterweight titleholders Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia will meet in the first quarter of 2017, and that in preparation, Garcia is set to fight a tune-up on Nov. 12.
The stay-busy bout will headline a PBC on Spike card from Garcia’s hometown of Philadelphia. The opponent: Samuel Vargas, a no-hoper who was knocked out by Errol Spence last year.
It’s disappointing that Garcia is feasting on another unworthy challenger, and this fight won’t be contested for his WBC 147-pound title. Garcia is one of the sport’s best fighters and has proven his status with victories over Lucas Matthysse and Amir Khan.
Since then, the only elite fighter he faced was Lamont Peterson, whom Garcia (32-0, 18 KOs) faced via disputed draw last year.
However, it’s not uncommon for boxers to take tune-ups before big fights, and make no mistake, Thurman-Garcia is a truly great fight the public will be salivating for.
PBC spokesperson Tim Smith told USA TODAY Sports the Thurman-Garcia unification bout is signed for a date in March. The fight could represent the biggest bout on the PBC series to date.

“He wants to be sharp when he gets in the ring with Keith Thurman early next year,” Smith said. “He wants to be at 100%. He wants to be at his physical and mental peak. And trust me, this fight between Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman will be for supremacy of the welterweight division.”
“We’ve seen this year two guys that are going to be fighting soon, they’ve taken an entire 2016 to prepare for their big match later this year.”
Smith didn’t specify, but is clearly referring to the Nov. 19 fight between light heavyweights Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev on HBO pay per view. The marquee fight has been marketed since 2015. Each man has taken what amounts to two tune-up bouts this year to build interest for the marquee bout.
Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) is rated No. 2 by Boxing Junkie at welterweight. His last fight came in June when he outpointed Shawn Porter in a slugfest. It’s unclear if Thurman will take a stay-busy fight as well, but he’s expected to take the rest of 2016 off as he recovers.
Garcia hasn’t fought since a January decision win over Robert Guerrero.
