If you felt something unclench in your heart earlier today, it was the universe telling you Bob Odenkirk is recovering well after his collapse. Reps for Odenkirk told Vulture, “We can confirm Bob is in stable condition after experiencing a heart-related incident.” News broke on July 27 that the actor had fallen ill on the set of Better Call Saul, which is now filming season six. At the time, the cause of the collapse was not known. “He and his family would like to express gratitude for the incredible doctors and nurses looking after him, as well as his cast, crew, and producers who have stayed by his side,” his reps said. “The Odenkirks would also like to thank everyone for the outpouring of well wishes and ask for their privacy at this time as Bob works on his recovery.”
The internet swelled with well wishes for the actor, who has earned four Emmy nominations and four Golden Globe nominations for the role of Saul Goodman on the show. Folks like Anthony Atamanuik, Carter Bays, and Bryan Cranston all expressed love for the writer-performer.

Thanks for the updates, @playahaitian

Glad to hear he's back.

Great prequel series. Speaking of BBad & BCS ...

My dad emailed me that great scene from season 3 of Breaking Bad last week. The one with the twins & Hank in the parking lot in the "One Minute" episode. I replied back & said this was one of my fave scenes from Better Call Saul. The twins and Mike ...

I gotta get caught up, way behind.

It's worth it. Once they find their groove, it's a great series. Very well acted & received by fans & critics alike. Reviews & score for the last season from 2020 -

Triples (of the Defibrillator) Made It Safe for Bob Odenkirk

Bob Odenkirk united the nation in solidarity last summer when he suffered a “small heart attack” while filming an episode of Better Call Saul, confirming in the process that he’s pretty much the human equivalent of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. (Oh, we’re sorry, does he not represent a masterpiece of human creative genius to you?) Odenkirk has since been open and in good spirits about his recovery process, but in a new Howard Stern Show interview on February 28, he revealed that he was a lot closer to meeting the reaper than previously disclosed and credited the quickness of an on-set Better Call Saul crew member for performing CPR that “saved my life.” A defibrillator also had to be used on Odenkirk three times by the show’s health officer because, of course, triples makes it safe and triples is best. “Which is actually a lot, Howard,” he explained. “When the defibrillator doesn’t work once, that’s not good. When it doesn’t work the second time, that is kind of like — forget it. But then they jacked it up a third time, and it got me back to a rhythm.” It worked well for the Barracuda, Roadrunner, and Nova, so why not him?

Wow. That's a scary close call. We have to re-up our First Aid / CPR recertification every 3 years for work.

Always good to see how much the instructors stress the importance of delivering CPR correctly, or using a defib' to really help out in a situation in which you have accessibility to one. Which unfortunately would be just around the workplace, as you wouldn't have one with you in the general public and would have to await the paramedics to assist in that situation.

Just re-watched/skimmed thru season 5. What a great show. Is it better than Breaking Bad? I think in terms of interesting characters and character arcs it's better. In Breaking Bad, everyone except Walter was basically set on there path from the start. In BCS you get to see everyone's evolution.

Questions that need to be answered in the final season
  1. What happens to Kim? I doubt she gets killed, because that would break Jimmy completely, but my guess is somehow she gets disbarred through this nonsense they are planning for Howard Hamlin and that causes her to finally accept that Jimmy is not good for her.
  2. What happens to Nacho. He's not in Breaking Bad. My guess is he's able to get his dad out from under the thumb of the cartel but it costs him his life. He's the Jesse Pinkman of the BCS but in reverse. Unlike Jesse, who was an knucklehead who wanted to be a badass, Nacho is legit street guy who's trying to get out. I think he's heading for tragedy
  3. What happens to Saul as Gene? He's obviously bout to break bad again, but how far does he go?

All the other pieces, we know their resolutions through their place on Breaking Bad. It's just a matter of good execution by the showrunners on the final season.

Agreed. They've done a very good job with it as a prequel.
