when its all said and done we know Jimmy LOVED Chuck and wanted to make him proud
after 3 seasons do we have any indication that Chuck Loves his little bro?
we saw the flashback when he bailed him out and got him the job, but he held that over his head and kept him under his thumb
at every turn Chuck sabotaged Jimmy

i honestly think that under different circumstances with the love and support of his big brother who he looked up to Jimmy might have been a good lawyer that could push the envelope but honest overall

but we'll never know

i think Chuck created a self fulfilling prophecy. He thought Jimmy was still Slipping Jimmy, treated him as such (while ignoring all the growth he made) and pushed him into something completely worse

I can understand or excuse the scams he ran for profit or to save a client, but the ones he ran with Marcos and Kim were for the sheer fuck of it. He even conned the staff at Elementary school to get a shot near their giant flag. Something he easily could have found and got permission to use somewhere else. He might have been allowed more honesty with Chuck's help, but the con game will always be thick in his blood.

People keep asking when Slipping Jimmy becomes Saul Goodman. He doesn't. They're both the same person with a different name. One hustles in a bar and the other hustles in a courtroom.

Y'all might have forgot Jimmy was a full blown con man before Chuck bailed him out with his Legal skills and hooked him up with a job. He did that because he cared about his brother to some degree (even if he was secretly jealous of him). All Chuck wanted was to minimize the damage Jimmy could do. He knew slippin Jimmy with a law degree was Death Star level damage and he so he tried to sabotage Jimmy's legal career.

So why couldn't Jimmy just stick it out and Ernst and Maine (or whatever). He was set for life, but nah he had to get back in the "action". Had to have that hustle lifestyle. That shows you he couldn't have made it at HHM. He would have done the same shady shit whenever something didn't go his way. He takes shortcuts eventually thats just who he is.

Also, to be fair, even though Kim brought that bank business to HHM, she left on her own terms and took the business with her, but HHM isn't obligated to just let the business go. They went after it fair and square and won it back. Keep in mind at that point They paid for Kim's law school, so I can understand them feeling some kind of way about her taking a big client from them.

If you been Team Jimmy for 3 seasons, I don't know how you can wave that flag proudly after last weeks episode. He's Saul Goodman in everything but name at his point.
pain is a difficult thing and I don't know about you - family calling me a chimp with a machine gun would fuck with me

I think every character is grey Jimmy is more likeable than Chuck but not morally superior and vice versa

the only people I find truly moral are Hamlin and Kim - but my gut is that Jimmy and Chuck will destroy both of them

Lydia! oh Lydia!

So Chuck sat there the whole time waiting for Jimmy fucking himself up more in the process so he could "win" :hmm:

damn the kid they got sounded just like or I wonder if they dubbed him

damn kim got fucked up...buring the candle on both ends caught with her

damn Howard read Chuck the riot act...is it the 1st time he has cursed on the show. Howard was willing to cutdacheck. Deuces
Howard a politician through & through. Had his going away party ready to go. Chuck had to be embarassed as all hell and he deserves it.

if looks kill Nacho's dad would've killed Don Hector on site

Kim taking some much deserved Kim time...never thought I would see Blockbuster on tv (especially one of the networks that helped kill it with AMC)

through all that jimmy still went to visit Chuck & try to make some kinda peace & Chuck tries to destroy him for it
Chuck gonna die miserable and alone

damn Jimmy cant fix that old lady's life WOW...her friends are the definition of petty

Chuck has completely lost his shit...tearing down his whole fucking house cause he know he did Jimmy wrong

how different would Gus' life have been if he let Hector die...especially knowing that Hector took him out in the end

damn Jimmy fell on his sword to do the right thing but some would argue he been Saul all along. That a Saul move

no Mike?

but it took Jimmy & Kim losing almost everything to act like a couple again for the first time all season

Gotta finally put the blame where it belongs
Jimmy and Chuck had some shitty ass parents who didn't teach them anything at all
didn't correct Chuck's attitude or behavior towards Jimmy
Let Jimmy get away with everything.
Like those 2 really did a job on not preparing their kids for the world and it's consequences. It's a miracle both of them ended up lawyer's because their parents didn't do them any favors or justice.

Like a clinic in horrible parenting.

Who knows where Mike is.
Gus knows poison when he sees it apparently
Just burned the bridges fully tonight.
Burned his entire house down nobody to blame for it but himself oh and his shitty ass parents

Dude needs to get fitted for a straight jacket
Bingo. But a casket will do.
Naw, all that guilt is making him relapse.
No guilt. Hes certifiable. He was never "cured". The journal he kept was used to show that.
Jimmy has an heart

He told Kim everything also
Like i been saying...
Chuck :smh:

Damn, so Jimmy gets Chuck's money?
People like Chuck dont die without a will...
Would jimmy gets chucks doe?
Doubt he left Jimmy a penny... depends on when he last altered his will though. Even if Jimmy is the heir, im sure his guilt will result in him giving most of it away.

Cant blame parenting on petty insecurities and mental illness of a 50 year old man.. And its clear Jimmy ultimately was raised right by his dad. He has shown compassion and selflessness throughout the series.. Even his worst moment had pure intentions... And he went back on that and cost himself a million in the process solely because his conscience couldnt deal with the result. Despite his resentments toward his dads soft heart, Jimmy obviously inherited it.

I can blame parenting for them even getting to that point. Way before whatever it is that's happening now.
And Jimmy wasn't raised right, inheriting the heart don't mean he was instilled the values even a few weeks ago he looked at his dad as a mark.
Chuck just said what you just said it's funny. Chuck just stopped wanting to deal with it. He said you're going to hurt everyone around - it's a fact, he did. and he said he believes that Jimmy believes he's sorry and his intentions are pure it's just one of those things.
Neither is a good guy and that's OK. Chuck faked it for as long as he could and then went fully off the deep end and killed himself he has nobody to blame for being alone and in that condition but himself.

A parents job is to raise kids to the best of their ability while instilling values and a moral compass. What route in life that child chooses into adulthood is his own prerogative. Blaming their parents based on what we know is garbage... Everything we've been told about Jimmys dad gives the impression that he was a man of principal and moral fortitude. Jimmy viewed that as weakness due in large part to witnessing his dad being taken advantage of by others and witnessing his parents bust their ass working hard only to die broke and broken... As a result, Jimmy- a likable guy- decided to use his charm for conning others. Probably as a defense mechanism to prevent being taken advantage of first (like his dad was). We also see Jimmys motives being largely pure and him being a thoughtful caring brother and loyal friend. Hes more like his dad than he would like to think..

Chuck is a self absorbed, self righteous nutcase that resented his brother from childhood. Nothing we see says he truly was anything but that. And his petty resentments did more to cause Jimmys turn for the worse than his words did in actually predicting them. Its fine to say neither is a good guy, but one is absolutely worse than the other. How you continue to see them both as equally deplorable is beyond me.

Mental illness is real

Kim is kinda ride or die ...with a nice hardbody.

Gus peeped Nacho

Blockbuster? I forget this show is in the 80s sometimes

Howard paid him out of pocket! Checkmate

Them old ladies act like 7th grade girls

Jimmy tries to be good ...just not good at it

The roof is on fire ... goodbye Chuck

with a statement made by Vince Gilligan that Better Call Saul takes place "in 2002, 6 years before Saul meets Walter White."

Breaking Bad takes place in 2008 and the series spans two years. Starting on Walter's 50th birthday.

Jimmy said to Kim what is this Blockbuster 2003.

I was going to say the same thing... plus they had dvds in there.

Not to mention the different cellphones they were using that couldn't make the show in the 80s.

Let me say this...
If this were to drop before Breaking Bad, both would have flopped...
I get the character incite thingy, but to me they are stalling, dragging a story with little to no plot, while paying attention to the character themselves...
I mean, I am sick and tired of seeing them fill dead air time by watching them search and tear through something for ten mins on tv... I understand it was done of dramatic effect, the later to show how mentally ill the brother is, but I knew he was bat shit from the jump, and to me he never did anything that was sane...
And to be honest, how many of you guys didn't know he was going to eventually do some dumb shit like that...
But all that aside, I still watched that slow motion version of concrete setting, for nostalgia reasons, I really love Breaking Bad and watching it always gives you the sense that something good is about to pop off, but sadly the only things half way exciting to happen was the last show, but then again we knew dude was going to eventually take the pill and have the stroke or what ever, and we knew what was going to happen to the brother...
Will I watch it next season, yes... Would I have watched it or Breaking Bad if this were to come out first, Hells no!!!!
