Nice 1st season
Saul with his last hurrah in his old stomping grounds was cool.

The bingo shit was hilarious but we see what got him down there in the first place.

Enjoyed him deciding to stop holding back.. he did it because he cared what his brother thought now he has no fucks to give

Still got Ernie running errands and being the mail boy huh?

Peep how Chuck was talking to him. Wanted to slap chuck in the face

Still cant get over him running a Nigerian scam though

i'm stil watching, but they need to be kicked square in the ass for that dry ass season finale,, the best episode was the one about the dirty cops who killed mikes son,, this shyt could easily get canceled after this season tho

‘Better Call Saul’ Ratings: AMC Drama Wraps Strong First Season With Uptick

AMC’s “Better Call Saul” wrapped a strong first season with ratings gains on Monday as it continues to stand as the year’s top new cable series.

AMC doesn’t tout the ratings performances of its shows until after three days of DVR playback are included, but in same-night numbers, “Better Call Saul” averaged a 1.19 rating/4 share in adults 18-49 and 2.53 million viewers overall — about 1 million total viewers more than “Breaking Bad” drew with its first-season finale in March 2008,

Despite facing the college basketball championship game, “Saul” was up 5% in the demo and 10% in total viewers week-to-week. In the most recent Live+3 ratings available, “Better Call Saul” more than doubled its 18-49 rating and nearly doubled its total-viewer count.

AMC launched “Saul” behind the midseason premiere of “The Walking Dead,” and that paid off with monster numbers as it became cable’s biggest premiere ever in adults 18-49 (3.5 rating).

Powerful? So he tells some story about shitting in a convertible while the kids were in there and the owner ruined his life, yeah powerful makes me want to cry.

Over your head, it explained both, how/why Chuck had to rescue him from going to prison & why he had to leave town, the ep also showed us HIS background & why Chuck shits on him & DIDN'T want him to become a partner.

"Slippin' Jimmy"

If Saul wasn't qualified to practice law he never would have passed the bar. Period. Once you get that permission to practice whatever you make of it is up to you. Graduating a prestigious firm might give you a head start, but it doesn't guarantee a win.

And no, the law is not sacred. It's a collection of do's and don'ts that define acceptable behavior. It changes almost daily depending on who can make the most convincing arguments, win the most votes, etc.

Consider the Volstead Act for instance. Here was a law that banned alcohol across the entire country and even became a constitutional amendment. Then, after millions of deaths, millions of criminalized citizens, millions of dollars wasted on a hopeless effort it got repealed ten years later.

This was a law that was asked for by a powerful fringe group and poorly drafted by a bunch of Chucks. Does that sound sacred to you?

Truth.

How about Dred Scott?!?

Bottom line, there's a reason as to why it's referred to as "practicing" law, because NO ONE is perfect @ it!

Rooting for Jimmy to have a better ending than Walter White.

well we already know its better cause he still alive.

that scene was great

very powerful

"Slippin' Jimmy"

dude just had a catharsis live in front of the world...

a lot going on.

Working for these old people was his salvation in a sense by helping them finding forgiveness for all the wrong he did.

Shit was a slow burn real slow.

I know many didnt like it and I understand but I feel liek they were trying really hard maybe to hard to create a differnet tone from BB.

He ran a fucking Nigerian scam

I don't need you to explain it, it's pretty obvious what happened. Saul deserved everything that happened to him. Cats talking about the scene was powerful like I'm suppose to have sympathy for some hater who shot in someone's car.

Yo Fam there is a big difference between a Harvard grad lawyer and some local college grad. Perhaps after years of experience the no name school lawyer could hold up against a Harvard grad but out the gate he would get trumped.

Not really. Being a good lawyer, whether it's criminal, tax, corp, etc is mostly effort. An encyclopedic knowledge of case law and a strong argument is gonna win out regardless of what school you went to. The trick is finding an attorney who will put forth that kind of an effort even when the case is a dog.

In the real world A Harvard Grad would be politiking and connecting with judges and powerful people.

Have you being paying attention to how saul was always trying to cut deals in bathrooms and shit...
A harvard lawyer will be drinking with the prosecutor at the court members club trading sentences and deals like it was nothing.

connections, that is what makes you a great lawyer

NO there isn't fam, Harvard, Yale, etc., is MUCH MORE about connections, you can have a great mind for law and simply can't afford Harvard.

True, but lawyers also build those SAME connections over time, Jimmy was a correspondence lawyer yet it was him who found that case, though if he was truly as good as his brother he would've recognized the interstate angle of the case.

Sometimes, just like Jimmy did, it just takes ONE case to make your name.

Johnny Cochran didn't go to Harvard, he went to Loyola Marymount.

Londell McMillan (who I went to school with) didn't go to Harvard, he went to Cornell, he is a HUGE entertainment lawyer now, he's the one who got Prince out of his contract with Warner Bros..

Connections are major in any profession

Finally saw the finale yesterday. There's something nagging that I just can't figure out.

Jimmy's deal with HHM gives him 20% of a slam dunk lawsuit which is worth an estimated $68 million. That means he looks to pocket nearly $14 million within the next 2-5 years, even if he never practiced law again.

So why in the heavenly fuck is he getting back into dirty business? Why is he so butt hurt about not having the Kettleman's money? All he has to do is find a legal way to coast by for ten years tops and he's set for life. Why jeopardize that with something that can get you time? Why threaten your credibility as a lawyer and with it your entire case? Did he stumble into a bar see his old partner in crime going absolutely nowhere in the last ten years and think "Gee, that's a great idea"?

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if not Saul Goodman is one of the biggest idiots that ever walked onto a TV set.

Have you been paying attention to the kinds of criminal cases Jimmy pursued? They were crap. A Harvard or any other Ivy lawyer would have fared the same given the same circumstances. Jimmy had a string of guilty, dead to rights, bottom of the barrel clients- they had nothing to offer so they had nothing the prosecutor would have used to give a lesser sentence.

The measure of Jimmy as an attorney was the nursing home case. He saw the over-billing and knew there was a case there for the taking. He was capable and prepared to do all the legwork to bring the case home, the scale of it was just too big for him alone. But he only found the case because he was willing to work with the kind of clients 'big time' lawyers usually ignore.

I think the answers in the question. Jimmy is a small time, short sighted hustler. He doesn't have the patience or confidence to wait for things to develop. He wants his respect, credit and pay day NOW!
