I like the no contract deal, although, wifi at home is just fine!
Yea I just had this convo recently. I was very curious to see how it handles photos. An electronic portfolio!
The street already knows whats up.. at the price point, Apple is going to move units

I'm in Los Angeles.
I kinda understand your point, but this is not a worthy replacement for the true Kindle user. E-ink is low energy allowing 7000 page turns between charges. Granted it is ugly and grayscale but so are most books that we read. iPad and its 3 hour charge is not gonna replace an ereader for serious bookheads. At least I don't think it will.
***running And Searching For Jd Walkers Thread On Developing And Really Taking It Seriously Now!!!!***
Like JD said, wait for the 2nd gen or 3rd gen, instead of being the 1st gen beta testers, while they fix all the bugs. I think all the companies should have all the kinks worked out by 3rd gen. Apple, HP, Archos, HTC, etc.can u write notes by fingertip? i know there is a special stylus that works on iphones and ipod touch screens but im not sure if this screen type is the same
I woulda preferred a scaled down osx to a scaled up iphone os. Wondering how good the processor is. Can't imagine gaming and using 3g will still get you 10 hours of battery life.
If I can save $50 on each textbook purchase and it doesnt do stupid shit like erase all the content if u plug it in to another computer then Id buy one this summer still. I need a good 6 months of other people doing quality control.

iTunes allows you to play DRM songs on up to 4 computers. so there shouldn't be an issue with the books.
how is it a fail? demand will exceed supply most likelyDivine and JD just because cats are pointing out shortcomings does not make them haters.
IPod was revolutionary
IPhone was revolutionary
Ipad is a fail
A fail is a fail.
Yeah, just hardware issues, very few, if any software issues. That's just with any new tech, regardless who makes it. And I'm sure by 2nd & 3rd gen, other features will be added on to make the devices more useful across an even wider range of uses.shouldn't be too many bugs, unless hardware related. Its pretty much the same OS as the iPhone.
I saw this. When I get a handle on the projects I'm working on now I'll cop an iPad and port a couple of my apps to the app store. I'll probably have you kats beta test first.
DRM has already be dropped from iTunes. Even if they try it with e-books, there WILL be a way around it.![]()
This will be bought by a MUCH BIGGER market than just the Kindle users.
If you just want to read books, get a kindle.
But if you want to read books, or have a large-screen GPS when you are driving, or let your kids play video games on-the-go, surf the web, listen to music, watch movies / youtube, or do video-conferencing, or give business presentations, or exhibit your photos as a photographer, etc., etc., etc...
.. without the hassle of carrying around a 'full laptop'...
then this just may appeal to you.![]()
Completely? I haven't bought a song from the store in a long minute, I know they had an option to buy a DRM FREE song for $1.29 a while ago.

Doesn't a net book do most of this and cost about 200 dollars less and come with a 250 gig hd?![]()

i hear you, if you are a reader, you get a Kindle. if you want a laptop lite, you get a netbook. those consumer are not necessarily one and the same. the tablet is the bridge between those consumers as well as the bridge between the capabilities of the iphone and a laptop. the Kindle market and netbook market aren't the greatest because the options available to the consumer weren't that great prior to today.monkeyb,
I won't lie and say I don't hear what you're saying. My point, however, is that Amazon sold Kindle to readers. Kindle caters to readers. iPad is far better at multimedia functions, but if Kindle owners were looking for that they would be reading on netbooks. A disposable razor is better for a shave than a machete is, no matter how bad ass the machete would make you look!
Fuck the IPAD, I would cop and Archos before I get that shit...
YOu ninjas are slaves to apple... They love you
Yes...but they don't run Mac OS.. or have a 140,000 app store attached to it... or the largest music collection in the world attached to it.
I must be getting old, cause without upgradeable storage, camera and a real OS I can't fuck with it.
When they finally release the real one, it should at least have what I can get on a netbook.![]()
You do quite a lot of running and following that faggot nigga around... Homo's recognize homo's... Get off that nigga dick already.
That point right there is really something I think they are banking on, not just Apple, but all of the companies.I think this is a win for Apple for people who were riding the fence on getting an iPhone/iPod Touch and wanted to incorporate a device that works like a netbook.
