He had nerve issues for at least 2 years from his back that gave him lower leg pain and weakness. After surgery it can take up to 12 months for the nerve roots to fully regenerate and get the signals back to the limbs. The longer the nerves were compressed the longer it takes for them to heal. He's still less than a year from the second operation.
He can be a steal for another team next season one he has more time to heal and get the lower leg strength back.
Im almost a year recovery from back surgery and most of my foot and lower leg issues have improved.
I understand being loyal and trying to protect your staff, but part of being a HC is making tough decisions you may not want to make. This shit was destroying the locker room. What made Tomlin think he could just ride this out without making a change? Canada got pictures of him or something?

I'm confused they were 3-13 that year. Unless they were living off the 2012 year when they went 10-6.

Actually it was Art Rooney. He told Mike get rid of this fuckin bum. He let Mike say it was his decision but the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported it was the owner who had enough. I'll believe Gary Dulac cause he has very credible sources. Coaches lie in those pressers all the time
