The topic that has been discussed at every BBQ you've been at this Summer takes another step at becoming reality. The weird part about it though is while we certainly knew it was a possibility I don't think any of us can really visualize it happening. It's one of those things like when McDonalds was rumored to rename Wrigley "McWrigley" back in the Sam Zell days even though we knew it would never happen.

But, this announcement makes it all very real. Credit to the Bears for jumping ahead and getting this out there too. You knew it would be reported elsewhere and I think it was smart to have some transparency on it. There's reasons that we all know people should be for this and the same can be same for reasons we're against it, but I guess for now we just wait and see.

They bet not be playing bruh. I hate going to games at Soldier Fields, only people who I hear are against it is people who actually live in the city. I'm from Rockford and it's a bitch going to and especially leaving games, it takes me hours to get back home. Like @shaddyvillethug said Super all purpose arena that will most like have a retractable roof is a no brainer to me. Final Fours, Super Bowls, Championship fights. Make this happen asap.

Exactly lol. That walk is ridiculous and then the high ass parking you have to pay for. That Arlington property is like 325 acres, they could build a state of the art stadium. Dallas don't play in Dallas, hell New York teams play in New Jersey lol.

Fuck it, do it. That stadium is as Antiquated as Antiquated can be and updating it wish they did several years ago was putting braces on a Hillbillies rotten teeth.

If they can pilfer from all those Stadium designs they can have something going

But I'm done going to games. Expensive seats where I can't tell if I'm watching a black player or a white player, parking is 30 to 50 bucks. You get a much better view from TV and I got a 85" Samsung

Mayor Lightfoot Throws A Haymaker At The Chicago Bears

Truthfully, I wouldn't hate the move. There are only 8 home games a year + the playoffs. That's doable from anywhere in the city if you go to every game. Yeah, I'd HATE that Arlington Park would be no more, as I'm a horse owner (nbd) and love that place, but if it's going to be replaced with anything, replace it with a state of the art entertainment complex that can host Final 4s, the Super Bowl, Wrestlemania, etc. It'd also mean there's a plot of land in the South Loop ripe for the plucking for the White Sox. Can you imagine a brand new stadium for the White Sox where you can hit balls into the lake with the skyline immediately behind CF?

They'd become a destination franchise.

Anyways, Mayor Lightfoot didn't take too kindly to the Bears' announcement:

We want the organization to focus on putting a winning team on the field, beating the Packers finally and being relevant past October.

Wow. I hate the phrase "shots fired" but this was Mayor Lightfoot taking an Uzi and blasting Ted Phillips and the McCaskeys right in the face GTA style…. and it was also a clean shot. I also laughed. Say what you want about Mayor Lightfoot, but that last quote was absolutely hilarious.

Oh and btw… lot of people asking me to ban Justin Fields because he said he's gonna root for both the Sox and Cubs:

And to that I say he gets a pass. He's not from here, he doesn't actually give a shit if either team wins or loses. So… he gets a pass. Just beat the fucking Packers and be our QB for the next 10+ years. Please. Please god please. Fuck Aaron Rodgers

Lightfoot should know how to read the room better, most Bear fans are with this move. Fans sick of that low budget ass stadium where it's hell to get in and out of.

Thing I'm learning about Fields is he is extremely confident. Why Nagy is doubling down on starting Dalton is just dumb to me. Let their be a legitimate competition, Nagy act like he owe Dalton the starting job. What happened is they promised Dalton that job because at the time the Bears were desperate because the Wilson trade didn't happen so they overpaid and promised Dalton the starting job to come here. But they got lucky and got Fields and everything changed so it should be an open competition.

I got an 82 inch 4K Samsung, it's excellent watching NFL games on it. It is better to watch on TV but with that being said the Bears need to build a new state of the art stadium not just for football but for a whole host of other things. That's a whole new level of revenue especially in the Chicago area, it's just a smart business move.

Kansas City Chiefs DE Frank Clark arrested in L.A. on suspicion of having concealed gun in vehicle
Jun 21, 2021
Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was arrested in Los Angeles after police saw a submachine gun in his car, police said Monday.
Clark, 28, was pulled over for a vehicle violation south of downtown Los Angeles at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, LAPD public information officer Tony Im said.
Officers noticed a bag with an Uzi sticking out in plain sight in the car, Im said. Clark was then arrested on suspicion of having a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
He was booked into Los Angeles County jail and released Monday afternoon on $35,000 bond, according to the county sheriff's jail inmate website.
"We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the NFL's personal conduct policy," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said.
Clark's attorney, Alex Spiro, said the gun belonged to Clark's bodyguard.
Clark was also arrested in March, along with another man, when officers said they found two loaded firearms in their vehicle after a traffic stop, The Kansas City Star reported, citing California Highway Patrol records.
A native of Los Angeles, Clark played his first four NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks before being traded to Kansas City in 2019. He was part of the Chiefs' Super Bowl-winning team in the 2019 season and has 49 sacks in 91 career games plus eight sacks in two postseasons with Kansas City. He has twice been named to the Pro Bowl since joining the Chiefs.
Clark was previously arrested in 2014 on suspicion of domestic violence over an incident at an Ohio hotel, leading to his removal from the University of Michigan team. He eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct.

Aaron Rodgers Reportedly Has 1 Way To “Opt Out” Of 2021 Season With Packers

Aaron Rodgers may have found his way out of the Green Bay Packers, but not in the way that he wants and it would just be for the upcoming season.

NFL players will be able to opt-out of playing this season over concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.

Pro Football Talk reported that players can opt-out regardless of whether they had been diagnosed with a high-risk condition or if they opted out last season. So basically, Rodgers could opt out no questions asks and won’t have to play for the Packers.

Rodgers would have until July 2nd to make his decision.

Pro Football Talk noted that Rodgers wouldn’t have to forfeit $11.5 million in signing bonus money and would still get his roster bonus. He would also be fined if he doesn’t show up for Packers camp.

The team knows he wants out, but has remained adamant about not trading him.

“I think sometimes people forget what really makes an organization,” he said. “History is important and legacy of so many people who’ve come before you. But the people – that’s the most important thing. The people make an organization. People make a business and sometimes that gets forgotten. You know culture is built brick by brick. The foundation of it by the people. Not by the organization, not by the building, not by the corporation. It’s built by the people.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to play with a number of amazing, amazing people and got to work for amazing people as well. And it’s those people that build the foundation of those entities and I think sometimes we forget that.”

Rodgers had nothing but kind words to say for Jordan Love.

“Look, with my situation … it’s never been about the draft pick, picking Jordan [Love]. I love Jordan. He’s a great kid. ‘Lotta fun to work together. I love the coaching staff, love my teammates,” he said. “Love the fan base in Green Bay. Incredible 16 years. It’s just kind of about a philosophy. And maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go. It’s about character. It’s about a culture. It’s about doing things the right way. A lot of this was put in motion last year. The wrench was kind of just thrown into it when I won MVP and played the way I played last year. This is kinda just the spill out of all that.

“But look, it is about the people and that’s the most important thing. Green Bay has always been about the people from Curly Lambeau being owner and founder to the ‘60s with Lombardi with Bart Starr and all those incredible names to the ‘90s teams with coach [Mike] Holmgren and Favre and the Minister of Defense [Reggie White] to the run that we’ve been on. It’s about the people.”
