Kansas City Chiefs DE Frank Clark arrested in L.A. on suspicion of having concealed gun in vehicle
Jun 21, 2021
Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark was arrested in Los Angeles after police saw a submachine gun in his car, police said Monday.
Clark, 28, was pulled over for a vehicle violation south of downtown Los Angeles at about 9:20 p.m. Sunday, LAPD public information officer Tony Im said.
Officers noticed a bag with an Uzi sticking out in plain sight in the car, Im said. Clark was then arrested on suspicion of having a concealed firearm in a vehicle.
He was booked into Los Angeles County jail and released Monday afternoon on $35,000 bond, according to the county sheriff's jail inmate website.
"We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the NFL's personal conduct policy," NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said.
Clark's attorney, Alex Spiro, said the gun belonged to Clark's bodyguard.
Clark was also arrested in March, along with another man, when officers said they found two loaded firearms in their vehicle after a traffic stop, The Kansas City Star reported, citing California Highway Patrol records.
A native of Los Angeles, Clark played his first four NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks before being traded to Kansas City in 2019. He was part of the Chiefs' Super Bowl-winning team in the 2019 season and has 49 sacks in 91 career games plus eight sacks in two postseasons with Kansas City. He has twice been named to the Pro Bowl since joining the Chiefs.
Clark was previously arrested in 2014 on suspicion of domestic violence over an incident at an Ohio hotel, leading to his removal from the University of Michigan team. He eventually pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct.
What a dumbass :smh:

NFL says it can't confirm discrimination allegation by Eugene Chung

Jul 1, 2021
The NFL says it cannot confirm Eugene Chung's allegations that a team official made discriminatory comments during his interview for a coaching job.

"After multiple discussions, including with Mr. Chung and his representative, we were unable to confirm the precise statement that was made, or by whom and under what circumstances any such statement was made," the league said in a statement Thursday.

Chung, a 1992 first-round pick by the New England Patriots, played five seasons in the league and served as an assistant coach for a decade.
He told The Boston Globe in May that he was told he was "not the right minority" by an interviewer. Chung, who is Korean American, didn't identify the team and told ESPN in May that he wasn't trying to "call anyone out" by publicly revealing who said it.

The league said that such comments "have no place in the NFL or in any contemporary workplace."

"We intend to use this occasion to reinforce the commitment of the NFL and of every NFL club to ensure appropriate interview processes and develop diverse, inclusive, and respectful workforces on and off the field," the league said. "Mr. Chung has offered to assist us moving forward and we welcome the opportunity to speak with him about how we can better advance employment opportunities throughout the League."

Chung most recently was part of the Philadelphia Eagles' coaching staff from 2016 to 2019. He started 30 games at both guard spots for the Patriots in his first two seasons in the NFL in 1992-93 and played one season with the Jacksonville Jaguars and one with the Indianapolis Colts.

He began his coaching career with the Eagles on Andy Reid's staff in 2010 as an assistant offensive line coach. He followed Reid to Kansas City in 2013, then came back to Philadelphia with Doug Pederson in 2016.

NFL World Reacts To Aaron Rodgers’ Season Decision (msn.com)

Aaron Rodgers reportedly had a chance to opt out of the 2021 NFL regular season and keep most of his contract money. However, it does not look like the Green Bay Packers superstar quarterback seized on that opportunity.

Instead, it sounds like Rodgers plans on playing the 2021 NFL season. Of course, it remains to be seen if that will happen in Green Bay.

Rodgers, 37, reportedly could have opted out of the 2021 season and recouped most of his salary money. The MVP quarterback reportedly had until Friday, July 2 to make that decision. Well, the deadline has come and went, and it looks like Rodgers is still planning on playing this season.

Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated reported on Friday that Rodgers did not opt out of the 2021 regular season.

Aaron Rodgers could have opted out of the 2021 NFL season over fears of COVID-19 as a way to not return to the Green Bay Packers but also not pay through the nose via the fines and the returning of signing bonus.
Rodgers did not jump through that loophole.
According to a source, Rodgers did not opt out by Friday’s deadline.
This, of course, does not guarantee that Rodgers will play for the Packers in 2021. However, it seems unlikely that Rodgers will hold out and cost himself millions of dollars.

Rodgers has been preparing for the 2021 season, even though he hasn’t reported to voluntary OTAs or mandatory minicamp.
Packers fans have rejoiced at the non-opt out, as well.
