}~~~> Official 2024/2025 NBA Thread<~~~{ the playoffs are here!!!

Be mad at yourself Mark. You sold the fucking team.

Did you read the details of that shit?

Cuban sold the team thinking he was going to still be running basketball operations on a handshake agreement, but didn't get it in writing because his ego wouldn't allow him to be thought of as an employee to the new ownership group.

They :itsawrap: those plans so now he's just a minority owner with great seats.

That whole starting lineup would be all stars if Jokic didn’t have so much usage. And that’s not a shot I’m just saying when you have a guy averaging a triple double the guys stats will suffer. Now Superstar? No. But they have a complete team they just gotta get rid of Westbrook.

I think Murray would be if he stayed healthy and started the season in shape

Absolutely the fuck not. The numbers and my gotdamn eyes when Jokic is off the court or misses games proves that wrong. Jokic should average 20+ assists a game if mf’s made their wide open shots he creates for them. One all star should be Jamal Murray. Jokic’s usage doesn’t hurt him. Jamal just ain’t that guy you can consistently rely on especially not in the regular season. You dont get all star nods for hitting a few game winners vs the Lakers. Jokic carries these dudes. It’s bad. I watch the games.

You would also think that if Jokic isn’t in the game that Jamal Murray and/or MPJ would go off but they never do. Not consistently. Consistency makes you an all star/superstar type player. The only person to really step up is Gordon.

Murray is Jimmy Butler Jr when it comes to the regular season. He’s not a regular season guy. Never has been. Y’all only see him during the playoffs and national tv games. Before the Bubble, nobody had Jamal Murray on their radar. Mainly cuz he was NOT playing like that. And even after, before his injury he was ok but not all star level.

He don’t come to play during the regular season. And now he’s always injured.

All them dudes IMO. Aaron Gordon and Porter would have stats on better teams. They complain now but they won a ring with these guys. Round the roster out better with guys that compliment those guys and I get Westbrook is cheap but those type of guys ain’t it.

The Cetics owner did the same thing to still be Governor for 3 years after selling the team. I pay 6B for something I'm running it.

Jalen Pickett had a great game last night. And yes, obviously playing Westbrook in late game key moments didn’t bode well for them. Malone used to piss me off because he would let the young players rot and go with vets(no matter what skill level).

Off track but

I really think Bol Bol’s career in Denver could’ve been different if Malone let him rock. Every time a young player makes ONE mistake, he’d pull them out but someone like Russ be out here with 5 turnovers and he’d keep him in. Don’t get me wrong, I love what Russ has done for us but he’s always been erratic. That energy he plays with has been both good and bad for us. Malone leaned too much into Russ at times.

Booth pissed me off when he defended his roster decisions after winning the Finals by saying, “Repeating isn’t the goal, winning 4 in 5 years, or 3 in 4 years is what we’re looking for”

He wanted to build a roster full of potential and Malone wanted to keep the train rolling. That’s where the disconnect was. I didn’t agree with Booth’s philosophy. If there was a chance to keep key role players, they should’ve done it.

Don’t @me if/when he gets benched during the playoffs for doing stupid shit. Cuz I already know it’s a possibility. Doesn’t change what he meant for the regular season.
Right. it doesnt change what he meant. And what he meant was you motherfuckers were cooked the moment you signed him.

Why?
You could have gotten a lot more for Luka if you were so set on trading him
So all the other moves out the window….mind you Luka couldn’t do shit until Nico traded for Kyrie, PJ, Gafford and drafted Lively.

Hes being scapegoated for a move he may have wanted but up top co-signed and could’ve vetoed.
