Anthony Davis doesn't deserve this.The Mavericks have struggled to start this season despite drafting Cooper Flagg no.1.Kyrie's been out the whole season.Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively are in and out of the lineup.Klay and DLo are struggling. After starting the season 4-11, there's little reason to think the Mavs can turn things around whether AD returns soon or not.Is it time they tank since it's the last time they control their own first-round draft pick until 2029?Should they flip their star vets like AD while he still has value?The reputation of AD has taken a major hit after the Luka trade.To make matters worse, AD is under contract till 2027 and he has a $62 million player option for the 2027-2028 season. Multiple teams are in need of a center.And at this point, the Mavs would be foolish not to carve a path that prioritizes flexibility long term with an 18-year-old star with unlimited potential
