It’s just different, shorter schedule means that games mean more so games are more competitive.

Plus lots of players don’t like each other so it’s more personal, which also leads to better games.

With the NBA most of the time it feels like they’re just going through the motions until the playoffs.

We all still watch though.
1st month of the NBA, christmas day, last month of the nba is for the most part what i watch; ill watch the big games thru out but thats it until playoffs start...

You are what many fans are doing nowadays, and the NBA made it that way. Actually I think it was Lebron :roflmao:

But I feel you, if I'm home I'll usually have the game on whether paying attention to it or not. There's lots of good players that I like to watch so I look forward to a good and fun season.

I think my most fun viewing experience was 2022 when I watched like 40+ Warriors games, kept watching even when Steph got hurt to see how JP could step up, saw them finish as a 6 seed and go on to win the title.

If they lost in the first round I’d have viewed it as a waste of time but paying attention the whole time can provide a much bigger payoff— potentially!

Beginning in the 2025-26 season, “Inside the NBA” will air on ESPN, which announced its long-awaited programming schedule Thursday. Reaction on social media quickly centered around disappointment with a limited schedule in the early months of the season.

Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley and Shaquille O’Neal will make their ESPN debut at 6 p.m. EST on Oct. 22 as part of the network’s season-opening slate. After that, the group will only appear twice more before Christmas. For context, the famed quartet’s show consistently aired weekly on TNT during the NBA season.

However, The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch reported on Sept. 19 that “Inside the NBA” would be taking an early-season “hiatus,” because ESPN’s NBA schedule is backloaded.

Viewers will see the group on a more consistent basis in 2026. From Jan. 24 through the end of the regular season in mid-April, “Inside the NBA” will air 15 times on ESPN, including three straight nights on March 6-8.

“Inside the NBA” pregame shows airing on ESPN will run for one hour, while those aired on ABC will be 30 minutes long. Postgame coverage for ESPN games and “NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC” will begin immediately following the contest. When “Inside” begins appearing on Saturday ABC games in January, a shortened postgame show will run there before continuing on the ESPN app. :smh:

The announcement of postgame coverage may assuage some concerns, most notably from Barkley. In September, the 11-time All-Star expressed doubts about the direction of the show when speaking to The Ringer’s Bill Simmons. He worried that the show wouldn’t have the freedom for longer segments like in the past, which gave the program its unique flavor.

“We’ve been talking behind the scenes,” Barkley said. “Like, after the game, are we going to get any time or are they going to say, ‘You have to go straight to Sportscenter?'”

ESPN president of content Burke Magnus said the product will remain the same despite the seemingly large change.

“(Fans are) going to get the show they love in a way that’s very similar to the way it’s always been,” Magnus told Deitsch. “It’s still produced in Atlanta by the very same people that produced it for Turner. It’s in their building. Other than a logo on the set, it’s going to appear the same, and that’s exactly what we want.”

I wouldn’t even take 12 from this group.

Chamberlain
Russell
LeBron
Jordan
Magic

Jokic
Olajuwon
Durant
Kobe
Steph

Kareem
Draymond

Dead serious about Draymond— If not him, I’d take Rodman or Oakley or Laimbeer to round out the roster ahead of anyone else left. This team has more than enough scorers. If I had to pick from the list, I’d go with KG but prefer Draymond as a superior passer.

Not only is Allen Iverson sober, but the NBA great known as 'The Answer' is also back with his ex-wife, Tawanna.

Speaking to Stephen A. Smith on ESPN's First Take, the ex-Philadelphia 76ers star discussed his widely publicized struggles since officially retiring in 2013. Iverson said his 'lowest point' came when Tawanna left him that same year.

'It was self-inflicted, but when Tawanna divorced me, that's when I knew I hit my lowest point and it was time for some deep, self re-evaluation,' Iverson told Smith. 'You know what I mean? [She is] my number one. Obviously we've been together over, well, 35 years. If you hang in there that long, it takes a lot to want to go.'

The worst part, he told Smith, was seeing 'Iverson vs. Iverson' on the legal documents.

'I had tried everything, nothing was working,' said Iverson, who is promoting his memoir, Misunderstood. 'And when I'm sitting in that courtroom, and I usually watch Sixers. vs. Sixers in the scrimmage or Georgetown vs. Georgetown, and I'm sitting there and them tears hit the page and I saw "Iverson vs. Iverson," I was like oh man, this is the lowest it gets right here.'

High school sweethearts from their days growing up on the Virginia coastline, Iverson and Tawanna married in 2001 and share five children. The two had been off and on since their 2013 divorce, but Iverson said they are firmly together these days.

But I feel you, if I'm home I'll usually have the game on whether paying attention to it or not. There's lots of good players that I like to watch so I look forward to a good and fun season.

I also recommend the NBA's Youtube channel, if you're pressed for time.

Those 10-minute game recaps are a great way to keep up with the league, and especially the teams you might otherwise not keep up with during regular season coverage.

@therealfanscorned — Thoughts on this interview? Did you watch many Butler interviews when he was with the Heat? I recognize the animosity around how things ended but curious how familiar this sounds and what you think of him as a person.
Jimmy always says the right thing
Behind the scenes he's an asshole
There wasn't many people that worked for the Heat that will miss him. I'm talking regular folks that work for the team
