Official 2014 NBA Playoffs thread

He needs to be checked. Since Durant ain't built for it, the checking will have to be done by a coach. Brooks isn't the man.

The right coach get a couple chips out this duo before they go Kobe/Shaq....

that's what im talking about.
HE isn't the reason the thunder are losing.
but it becomes all about HIM and nobody else.

Largebills will not like this post one bit sir. :smh:

I would hope he saw the obvious in this one though. The ball movement when Westbrook was on the bench was crisp. Essentially all five players were touching the ball and getting decent looks.

As soon as he came in the ball stopped moving.

Scott Brooks is at fault for allowing Westbrook to do some of the erratic shit he does. If he could help him see the flow of the game better this series could be something else, but instead it's the Spurs being older brother out there. Have Westbrook focus on hustle plays, defense and rebounds. Move the ball on offense, stop chucking from 3s and after he beats his man, find the cutter or open shooter. But players have to cut and move. Shit, so much potential and such poor leadership.

That's not true.

There was a point where he started pulling and messing up the flow of the offense but he was actually on the court and durant was on the bench and they were moving the ball crisp..

when durant came back in, he started pulling and messing everything they had done up.

It's true man. We'll just have to disagree on this one man.

He dribbled too much and took bad shoots. No pass for KD either. He was as passive as Westbrook was too aggressive. They are balancing each other's negative extremes. Into more negative.

You didn't read my whole statement.

I said that when kd was on the bench and he was on the court the ball was moving and they were actually doing great.

K.D. came into the game and he started to pull up for shot after shot and totally ruined the flow that they had going.

OKC might be done in five

And Chuck is right, neither Westbrook nor KD know how to make their teammates better

They also need to change the way the team is built if they're going to continue doing the one on one shit.

They need to get a couple of shooters

A four/five who can be a consistent middle range shooter

And a couple of Steve Kerr types

Westbrook needs to be handled like Rambo. There needs to be some chain of command to keep that killer instinct in check.

A competent coach would know how to handle Westbrook's intensity since it's clear he is the dominant personality on the team(with Durant being the superior talent).

Run the right plays and put the team in a position where Westbrook doesn't have to go 'rambo' in a game.

If Phil Jackson were still willing to coach, he'd take them to multiple titles(unless Lebron got young help to replace Wade).

u can tell that OKC cant get pass the Spurs without Ibaka.
these boys are playin terrible.......just gettin ate up in the paint

Shit is out of control now so it don't even matter who is fuckin up.

I'd bench everybody not named Durant & Jackson, their giving nothing out there. Westbrook stock is falling so fuckin fast. Game ain't over yet I think they will actually come back but switch it up

I don't mind if he's going to the rim.

I do mind if he's shooting 3 pointers like he has tonight.

Someone has to do something.

I said this after game 1. The thunder don't have many 2 way players. they have players that can do either or.

the 3 starters have 7 points in 2 games this series.

somehow this is westbrook fault.

they play small ball when they have no business doing it.

they insist on playing seffalosa and he brings nothing either way.

i just find it incredibly funny that it always comes back to 1 person.

Folks need to stop disrespecting the Spurs. They were gonna beat OKC with our without Ibaka. OKC is a great regular season team, but come playoffs, you see they have issues. Their shitty O gets exposed when playing the same team over a span of 7 potential games.

The Spurs are fucking machine. Their efficiency is ridiculous. They're the opposite of OKC.

Shit is out of control now so it don't even matter who is fuckin up.

it does because every other real reason they're losing won't be discussed.

literally they are getting beat in every category

but somehow if westbrook would just pass it to seffalosa and perkins they would be beating the spurs.

they miss ibaka completely

and they don't have a coach who can give them instructions or make real logical adjustments to get them out of this.

HOPEFULLY THIS will finally get brooks fired.

The blame goes to the coach Westbrook then Durant. Before Westbrook came back okc was a team and their defense was playing good. Just look at Durant against Miami with and without Westbrook. Without Westbrook he demands the ball and wants to be the leader but with Westbrook he goes down the court hides in the corner and put his hands on his knees. Like I said b4 let kd train with Kobe over the summer so he can get some heart. How you gonna give your team to another player.

True, but my only argument is when the game was within reach. Spurs offensive is so prolific right now, that a grind out type style is about the best option that OKC has against the Spurs. OKC is not valuing their offensive possessions enough and bad shots on offensive leads to Spurs 1st and secondary breaks. A good first quarter and was hanging in the 2nd until the late run.

Maybe OKC can get some good out of the folks they have on the court now. They need something and the coach ain't changing in this series.

This damn sure ain't 2012, so the commentators need to get that out their head ASAP. Minus Ibaka, OKC is fighting for their pride in this series.

They went to small ball when they shouldn't ever go to small ball durant should never be at the 4 he can't do that.

They need to bench seffalosa he doesn't stop anyone and he can't score a single point. what is his purpose?

play lamb, play pj3 WHEN IT MATTERS.

play a big lineup a big athletic lineup that would be way better than a small lineup. all the spurs most athletic players aside from leonard are the small ones.

but brooks is too much of an idiot to notice that.

they made their run/was hanging in there with westbrook jackson butler adams and kd.

there's just nothing they can do if they can't have the 3 people in there to ride out and make a difference. the spurs literally don't have to guard the okc big men... not even around the rim.

and then when they bring in the offensive players
none of them can play defense..

butler can't move
fisher is just decent at this point in his career.

why not give adams the start?

it's ugly for them and it ain't got a lot to do with westbrook.

The problem is that coach refuse to use the other guys on the bench no matter how bad his starters are playing.

both of them finished the night with just 15 points.
if your scoring isnt up.....you gotta facilitate....get your other teammates involved.
im sure the sports analyst is still gonna blame this loss on the absence of Ibaka again.
and sayin shit like...."oh they're young.....still growing" blah blah blah.
let Lebron have 15 points in a playoff game............its gonna be all hell in the sports columns the next day
and all day on the radio and sportscenter the following day

66 1st night
54 tonight

points in the paint.

Spurs do that shit to everyone. Tony Parker gets in the lane on EVERY team, Ibaka or not. Ibaka goes over to contest Parker's drive, cause you know Parker is driving on Westbrook, and he just passes off to Duncan or Splitter or Diaw for a shot in the lane or he's kicking it out to Green or the Italian.

Miami is going to have a hell of a time against the Spurs. Timmy is poised for another ring.

Thunder could have Harden and Ibaka right now and they'd still get murdered. When the Spurs play like this and they getting contributions from not even their best 4 players but they getting shit from dudes like Patty Mills and Danny Green? Series over. Danny Green putting up 20+ a game against them and only takes like 10 shots. Thunder just not ready yet.

Lebron is not playing all that impressive himself. Did you not see his stats in the championship last year?
