But at the same time Basketball has MLS (or lower) status in most of these countries. People play it and enjoy but don't look at a career too seriously or even really know how it is possible. I mean even in the UK I would struggle to name a local team, or tell you what channel it is broadcast on (if it even is anymore). The sport just doesn't have that level of professional attraction.

So yes you absolutely dominate but you should.

Exactly! It's our sport. Why wouldn't we dominate it? We get any tall kid to play seriously by age ten. Other countries don't take basketball as seriously as we do.

^^I think ppl are more impressed that we made it this far than his miss. Now if we were a football powerhouse then he'd be chastised for the miss

How come more has not been said about Chris Wondowski's missed goal?

Shouldn't he be considered the Bill Buckner of the world cup?

Shouldn't USA fans be chasing him home....that would prove we are really soccer fans:lol:

Probably because the U.S. was lucky not to have conceded a handful of goals prior to that. It's not his fault the U.S. lost, but it's sort of his fault they didn't win.

Exactly. But the time will come where he'll be outed for his fuckery, but for now, people are content with how far we went.

World Cup: USMNT game against Belgium was highest-rated soccer match ever on cable

According to Nielsen, the US national team's dramatic Round-of-16 match against Belgium on Thursday was the highest-rated World Cup match ever shown on ESPN or ESPN2. The game earned a 9.8 average rating, better than any previous game in the tournament. It also beat the US-Ghana game from 2010, which had a 9.1 rating on ABC, a broadcast network, and was played on a Saturday afternoon.

Only two games on ABC (the 1994 final and the 1994 game between US and Brazil) outrated Tuesday night's telecast. The coverage peaked between 5:45 and 6 pm ET (the final 15 minutes of regulation), when the game hit a 14.1 rating. ESPN's streaming platform, WatchESPN, peaked at 1.5 million viewers during the game while averaging 3.5 million viewers.

The game averaged 16.5 million viewers on the network, making it the second most viewed game on the network ever behind the USA-Portugal game.

Univision had 5.1 million viewers and 1.8 million unique users on their streaming platform.

Good job Murrrca. :bravo::bravo::bravo:

So who thinks Colombia will pull off the victory tomorrow?

I will be pulling for them hard tomorrow, since they are my adopted team for the tournament. But I think they can do it. Should be a very open match (hoping so) and up front I'm still iffy on Brasil. Hulk's been alright, Fred has shown me nothing really, Willian (would need to be out there more to show his worth).....Neymar can't do it all for them.

Should be an exciting match...can't wait!

Based on how they're playing, I would say Colombia is going to win. But as my peeps say, Brasil es Brasil. Meaning they can beat anyone at anytime with whichever players they have, that is how deep their talent runs.

Its happening already which is why the next generation of footballers in this country is going to be an absolute treat to watch. The kids who are 6-8 years old right now will flourish in 10 years time.

Good things are on the horizon.

I absolutely believe this

I'm rooting for Brazil the rest of the way (mainly because of the Chelsea boys) but I feel like Colombia will beat them

he missed a wide open shot

and green came in and scored the goal of the tourney for the u.s.

this is what i was talking about

green should have been playing the moment altidore went down

none of that shit helped our defense

it was TRASH

might as well try to outscore people

I really think Colombia are going to pull it off. Unless the real Brasil shows up, Colombia are playing the best ball in this tournament so far.

Plus ALL the pressure is on Brasil tomorrow.

Just finished watching ESPN FC, and at the end they said that there could be a move seeing Suarez go to Barca and Alexis move to Liverpool or end up at Arsenal.

YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME ABOUT THIS SHIT
:angry::angry::angry::angry:

I don't want Suarez here. He's a nutcase, always getting into shit, have enough racist ppl in the country, and I can't stand him. Fuck how good a forward he is....I want to keep Alexis and move forward with him, Neymar, and Messi as our guys up front. If this shit happens I will be beyond pissed.

And Pino you already know what's coming................where are the fucking CBs. FOR FUCKS SAKE GIVE ME ONE!

He would be a perfect fit minus his antics.

Barca 4-3-3 formation he could easily fill the second striker position.

he wont fit there and also not in real madrid. too much of the same shit it would be a war

he should stay at liverpool and let them build a team around him

If they giving up Sanchez why he wouldn't be a good fit?

too much of the same what?

If they are using the same 4-3-3 formation like they been using he will fit.

Actually I want him to stay at Liverpool, I like Barca but I am more a Liverpool fan.

sanchez and suarez are 2 totally different players. dont look at the formation that dont say shit. look at the type of players u wanna put together in this case as attack. the reason why they left tevez out cause he was killing messi's game in the national team. if you bring suarez u will basically have 2 tevez's(neymar and suarez). in short they will cancel each other out

I don't get the coach why he keeps playing with varane. He should play with Mangala smh
