**Official 2014 FIFA World Cup Thread**

ah man you know landon donovan is FUMING

like they have to turn the A/C on in the studio otherwise the equipment would burn up in there while he's talking right now.

i don't see how, it's natural ability im talking about.

like the agility that an a.p. has to go with his strength and power.. how would that translate if he had been growing up playing soccer instead of football..

like what about some of the top defensive backs.. how would they fare defending in soccer.. keep in mind they have to have elite footwork to even play db in the nfl.. i just wanna know how it translates on a pure athletic level
i mean the African countries have comparable athletes to our Black athletes and they generally don't do that well in the World Cup. Athleticism isn't the be all end all in the soccer

Could have used Obafemi Martins.

Exactly what I've been saying. Naija in the final 3rd......horrible. The long balls were poor, no one could finish. They are a decent side but I an very suspicious on who will finish for them.

Hell Moses' form was really that good that last few months anyway.

Possession is out the window with the US at the moment. JK needs to fix this stat, cause keeping this up for another 45 isn't gonna work.

Bradley is winning them back, but is lost in transition giving up lazy passes.

And Beasley is super suspect on that wing with Ayew whipping everything in. Wonder if Yedlin gets a go to finish.

No US fan should be content with this score though. We need another one.

see, don't go in that direction.

I'm asking about the athleticism obviously they would have the technical skill if they grew up playing it. It's not asking if that is the end all be all it's about how shook would you be if a.p. is coming at you full speed with westbrook on one side and percy harvin on the other.. as a defender.

^^^

US has got to try and apply some pressure. They can sit back... Not the way Ghana is attacking. That one goal ain't gonna hold up.

Jozi :smh:

Still think Eddie Johnson needed to be on this team. And feel it coming, Beasley is about to get burnt on these through balls/counters soon.

Because they are more interested in personal glory. There is no cohesion, coordination and the coaching is also suspect. Many of these players play for bug clubs in europe, you don't see them making lazy passes or poor crosses, yet when they play for their national teams they forget the fundamentals. The Nigeria game was an abomination and Ghana so far isn't doing too well either.

The way we keep giving the ball away, maybe some long white beards, elves, and reindeer should've come with those red kits.

Beas is ok, some help from Jermaine is vital. Still got Chandler and Yedlin behind em though, so rotation is key.

Man they need a Greg Popovich talking to..... USA need some championship PASSING...... It just looks sloppy to me
