~--~Official 2012 NBA Draft/Offseason Thread~--~

The Thunder have the good sense to appreciate what size can bring to the table.

The Heat continue to be stubborn about it.

:hmm: :hmm:

They drafted a 7ft white boy in the second round

I kinda understand them not taking Perry cause they didn't want to be tied down with a guaranteed contract so they traded their 27th pick to Philly for their 45th

Rollie Fingers posted the white dudes work out vid. He is 10 times better than what the Heat have now at center

Check it out

yea....

Ethan J. Skolnick @EthanJSkolnick

Perry Jones doesn't fit Heat "culture" necessarily, but if he turns out to be a player for OKC, will regret that in June.

somebody asked dude about this comments...

Ethan J. Skolnick @EthanJSkolnick

Lax at times. RT @itsalladare2m3 @EthanJSkolnick in what aspect, Ethan? Can you elaborate? How does he not fit the "culture?"

Josh Hamilton looks to have some good footwork going on there. Good pick up for MIA.

He ain't shit compared to Evan Fournier though. Fournier is a 19 year old French version of Wade.

Just reading up on him (and a few others) he's good in pick and pop situations. As long as he rebounds he'll be fine. I think that cat the Lakers got was a good pick as well. Definitely a project.

I would have taken a chance on PJII.

Yeah Sarce is solid I thought he would be a first rounder for sure

Deron Williams hasn't made a final decision, but multiple sources have said that he's leaning toward re-signing with the Brooklyn Nets.

it's funny how so many experts who months ago said he was heading to dallas are now saying he will resign.

they are using money as the reason.

I'm not saying money isn't the sole reason but here is the deal. He wants to compete but he knows his choices are limited with no competing team having cap space.

Also lets look at this.

When it was rumor that if the Rockets got Dwight Howard they said the rockets would focus on D-will. Dwill releases a statement saying he still would not be interested in signing with the Rockets.

Now as both Woj and Stephen A Smith if you are Dallas you don't even focus on Deron because that just told you everything you need to know.

Houston is in Texas. Would have the player he wanted to team up with in Dallas and Brooklyn. Yet his camp says he has no interest if Houston had Dwight??

something fishy here. So a Texas team has dwight howard and deron isn't interested? Then he wants something else.

wow jordan farmer actually opt out?????:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

that's the money we need to sign Jason Kidd

oh my bad. Jordan opt out is actually smart. Who knows what sessions will do. Jordan can return back to LA with players he is comfortable with

@beatdown I want Jason Kidd to retire as a Net

Wanna know how bad team are avoiding the new CBA tax???

look no further than the Memphis Grizzles.

Alex Kennedy ‏@AlexKennedyNBA

The Memphis Grizzlies will not issue a qualifying offer to O.J. Mayo, which means he'll become an unrestricted free agent.

Zach Lowe ‏@ZachLowe_SI

Mayo, with that large qualifying offer, is a tax casualty in Memphis. Not a surprise. They will need spacing/shooting, badly.

had memphis offer the qualifying issue at worst they could have did a sign and trade with Mayo at least getting something for him but memphis wants nothing. NOTHING!!!

they feel it's better to lose Mayo and get nothing (especially a contract that will match his new one)

Also they are still looking to unload either Randolph or Gay.

Again people want to say I'm crazy for saying Miami will win 2 or 3 more. Under this new CBA teams will try their best to NOT spend money.

Other news

Looks like Jordan is heading back to LA. Jordan who was a fan favorite already has the eyes of Buss looking at him.

Buss is likely to go after Jordan since he will be cheaper than Sessions.

Cuban won't be meeting Deron

One notable absence will be slugger Mark Cuban. And no, with free agency opening at midnight, the Mavs owner won’t be waiting on Deron Williams’ Manhattan doorstep with roses and a box of chocolates counting down to midnight.

Another business deal is taking him away.

“We start shooting Shark Tank,” Cuban said late Thursday night after the Mavs wrapped up the NBA draft by trading out of the No. 17 pick and acquiring three players. “The show’s doing too well.”

Cuban said the show is doing so well that they’re shooting 22 episodes this summer instead of 13 and that he’ll be in Los Angeles for the better of three weeks.

"Trust me, we’ve got the whole plan for free agency. We’ve got the whole plan set up," Cuban said, without divulging details. "We’ve got the first frontal attack, second frontal attack, plan A, B, C, D. I’ll be in L.A. on the phone, same as I was two years ago, same as I’ve always been, but we’ll have people on peoples’ doorsteps."

also deron and j kidd having fun in long island

That's funny.

Damn, Dallas could have fucked up big time and everything backfired. They could become like the Knicks who cleared cap room for Lebron, couldn't get him, and it resulted in them throwing money at players they shouldn't have(Amare).

The Lakers draft

I think Sacre could stick. He has some talent, but he has the shortest arms that it hurts him on D. He's not an inside presence. I would watch Gonzaga puzzled by his big head(pause) and his abnormal arms. Johnson-Odom's arms are probably longer. Johnson-Odom is undersized, but he can score and he works hard on D.

There is some rumors going around (based on what the Knicks GM said) that the reason the knicks took that pick in 48 is because they plan to shed their worthless salaries (Douglas, Balkman, Gadzuric, J Jordan) to try to be able to use the full MLE. If that is the case then what they did was the smart move better to stash a pick overseas for a few years and see if it turns into something like a rubio or Ginobli than to use it on a guy who you know you have no intention of signing.

Also it looks like the league is going to forfeit their appeal of the Lin/Novak bird rights case.

http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/knicks/bird_rights_appeal_could_settle_aoz99OIXd1ZZk6EZ6Vk5OP

That makes a ton of sense since the league was either going to have to stall FA or risk being sued by all the teams involved since it would of given teams without those players an unfair advantage during the FA starting on sunday.

So just found out that Jason Kidd bought a house in NY,,,,, should Dallas fans be worried??? #DerontoDallas #BringDWillHome

He sold his condo in Dallas last month for 1.5 million

I know we are less than 48 hours away but it seems like the pieces are moving

Legion Sports ‏@MySportsLegion

Jameer Nelson will opt out of his player option with Magic and become a free agent. Many teams are noted to be interested in Nelson.

someone doesn't want to get traded. Smart move

Alan Hahn ‏@alanhahn

It appears that Portland will not give the qualifying offer to JJ Hickson meaning that he will be an unrestricted free agent.
