Official 2012 Lakers vs Thunder Playoff Thread

How did he shoot them out the game when the game was tied with less than a minute left

From the four minute mark to a minute left he shot like two times. Yeah, they were bad shots, but how did he shoot them out?

Shooting them out the game is him coming down the court every time and shooting. Kobe shooting wasn't the problem. It was a lot deeper than that.

it wasn't much deeper
hasn't changed

kobe needs to make sure that bynum gets the ball
pau didn't want it in the clutch.. that was the correct play by kobe on that last one where kd got the steal

but otherwise...bynum didn't even touch the ball

Kobe isn't the only player on the team

Blake wasn't passing to Bynum
MWP wasn't passing to Bynum
Pau wasn't passing to Bynum

All of them were touching the ball also.

Hell Mike Brown could have said pass to Bynum.

Shit, Bynum might have been tired. Perkins got a rebound over him. :dunno:

That dude is becoming unstoppable. If he adds 15-20 pounds of muscle and a post game, no one will be able to guard him.

nobody can guard him now he doesn't need more muscle he goes to the rim and dunks on people now

and when kobe got on him he backed him up and shot over him

the only thing he needs to do is be more aggressive
he only took 18 shots
and he grabbed 13 boards

you're misunderstanding me
im not blaming kobe for not passing bynum the ball solely

i am saying he as the leader needed to make sure he got it. because everyone else can't even create the space to get their own shot or draw the defense...none of them.

i think mike was saying get it to bynum
they just didn't do it.

bynum couldn't have been tired, he wasn't getting the ball lol.

Naw, he has no post game, and with his long arms and height he needs that.

Like they were saying he has to catch the ball 25 feet out.

Think if he could do like Kobe was doing Harden and his footwork and strength was better.

that's the offense that they run, we saw him go down to the block and shoot over kobe tonight...its possible but their offense really isn't set which is on the coach.

they need to run more pick and roll more screens more drives and dishes and they need to run more pass and screen away to get people open. they're so speedy if you set back screens for durant harden ibaka westbrook you couldn't guard it
and if you helped someone would be wide open

I fell asleep at half time and just woke up.

I didn't trust the Thunder to pull it out but then again numbers don't lie.

Since Kobe been in the league he is 1-7 in playoff series where the Lakers lose the first two games.

As I said on the first page. I don't trust a jump shooting team but then again I know how the Lakers can get at times.

The Thunder are the better but still the Lakers strength should put give them the advantage. Pau will be the casualty.

As I said before I think when we watch Spurs and Thunder team we will be saying "why didn't the Lakers do that"

Yea cats keep talking about he needs to gain weight lol. Durant is gonna be straight lol. He's one of the best players in the league. Gaining weight won't change that. He doesn't really have many weaknesses. Maybe his post game but weight has nothing to do with that. Even with 15 pounds he's still going to be like 180 lol.

As far as shots go 18 is a lot. He's not really a volume shooter like Westbrook. He's going to turn 18 shots into 30+.

if scott brooks ever tells them to go to the rim everything at the rim and no pull up jumpers

nobody will beat the thunder. they're finally playing good defense now too

I can see Gasol and mabye Steve Blake being gone during the offseason

Charles and Shaq already talking about the Spurs/Thunder

no respect

No respect but its reality at this point. You gotta be dissapointed on how both teams have played. Maybe not the Clippers because they are what we thought they were but the Lakers have been underwhelming.

i wanna see 50

Naw you gotta keep them honest. That's how they lost to the Mavs last year. Westbrook attacked the paint all game long and Chandler wasn't having it. Thunder are built for that one on one isolation shit all game. Its going to be tough to beat the Spurs like that because they are built to defend that but that's how the Thunder got here. Might as well live and die by it.

the spurs don't have chandler. and as crazy as it sounds the thunder are better this year than last

its not pau fault
they weren't getting the ball 2nd half they just cleaned up the mess.

no it's not but they were trying to deal him easrlier in the season but Stern blocked the CP3 deal, and the whole tradeline thing so with a full off-season I just feel that Jim is going to deal his ass

peace

Who then?
Spit it out
GetItOffYaChestKidAdmitIt

If you're saying Gasol like how Shaq was saying "Just DUNK it, ThrowItDOWNGBigMan!":hmm:
Like Chuck said, he aint that type of Center

Kats keep sleeping on the WILL of SkinnyBones Durant, Westbrook, Serg He'llBLOCKya & the momentum when we're clicking on all cylinders.

peace

Bynum after the game

"Terrible loss. I didn't get the ball. I wasn't part of the game in the third and fourth quarter."

Translation

Bynum is going to speak to his daddy about why he didn't get the ball. His father will tell him to be patient. Soon they will have no choice but to get him the ball

Man, speaking of Chandler, did you hear what he said about the Mavs?
Our team is fucked. :smh:

Bynum saying they need to slow the game down and get him the ball. Also that certain players are getting too caught up with hero ball.

Not saying he is wrong or right just find it interesting. Last year we never would see Bynum say things like this but then again this is the first season he has the owner behind him

Spurs don't have a Chandler but at the same time they don't need one. Their team is full of good individual defenders. Young and athletic. Them cats putting up 100+ points and limiting teams to under 90. Thunder haven't seen that yet. Its going to be interesting to watch. The key matchup is Tony P vs Westbrook. Durant is going to get his. Spurs are deep as hell. They can go 9 or 10 any night.

And I agree the Thunder are better. But I think its because they are playing their game. Last year I remember thinking they were going to give it to the Mavs and they just couldn't hit shots or even get layups.

Thunder Playoff Thread

I don't understand why we didn't try Sessions out there while Westbrook was tearing us up...he possibly could have made Westbrook work more.

Durant...damn

That turnover by Pau was big

the fakers tried at least 3 different defenders on russell westbrook tonight. did you just watch highlights or something?

oh, the TO by pau gasol was big.

right. because taking the ball out of andrew bynum and pau gasol's hands in the 2nd half wasn't the main factor. puking up stupid shot after stupid shot wasn't what got the thunder back in the game.

pau gasol's TO was big.

don't forget derek fisher couldn't guard russell westbrook either.

Charles and Shaq already talking about the Spurs/Thunder

no respect

yeah, that IS fuked up.

but i will say this: nothing for the lakeshow to hold its head down about. they were leading the whole way until the end. sheit, they were up by what? 13 with 9 minutes left to play in the 4th qtr? those dudes just got tired then started to move away from what got them up in the first place, which was inside out b-ball.

supposedly magic even said it, that the lakers are the only team to find a winning formula, then move AWAY from it once it starts working :smh:

gl next year yawl

Thunder Playoff Thread

Kobe ain't Kobe no more... :smh:

tobe's the same player he always has been.

a STUPID one with NO basketball IQ.

LBO wrote that the fakers have to play a PERFECT game. NOT true.

the fakers just have to play to their strength, which is size in the post. put the ball in the black hole and you get 7 games with the nuggets and 3-1 with an actual contender.

Re: Thunder Playoff Thread

tobe kept it close.

and the black dumba sealed the W in Q4. tobe is definitely the greatest poseur in the NBA.

missing 8 out of 10 in Q4 (and 10 out of the last 13 FGA) from the best closer in the game to bring the Thunder back.

I thought that this series would be a sweep solely because of the chucker at SG but the 41-42 FT shooting helped the lakers squeak out a win in Game 3.

Oddly enough, the same reasons I thought the lakers would get swept are some of the same reasons I thought that the Clippers would be competitive in their series against the Spurs.

:smh:
