The trapping in the 3rd quarter works.
Sixers got a fresh asswhipping on their minds - hopefully we can beast them out of revenge mode.

Heat vs Sixers preview

There aren't many adjectives remaining to describe the Miami Heat's franchise-best winning streak that has helped them grab the NBA's best record and a commanding lead atop the Eastern Conference.

The Philadelphia 76ers haven't had much good come from a regular-season meeting with the Heat in quite some time.

Miami hits the road Wednesday night looking to become just the fourth team in NBA history to win 20 consecutive games in a single season by earning a 14th straight regular-season victory over Philadelphia.

The Heat (48-14) have overtaken San Antonio for the league's best record and are up on New York and Indiana by 9 1/2 games in the East thanks to their run over the last five-plus weeks.

They beat Atlanta 98-81 on Tuesday to extend the streak to 19 games, during which they've won by an average of 11.5 points.

Dwyane Wade scored a game-high 23 points while LeBron James added 15, seven rebounds and seven assists for Miami, which in the opener of its five-game trip can join the Los Angeles Lakers (33 in 1971-72), Houston (22 in 2007-08) and Milwaukee (20 in 1970-71) as the only teams to win 20 straight in the same season.

"Let's be honest, guys,'' James said. "This is an unbelievable streak that we're on. We're playing great basketball. We're winning in different phases of the game, we're playing different styles. We've won every game - on the road, at home, double-overtime games, end-of-regulation games - whatever the case may be.''

Miami has beaten the 76ers twice during its winning streak and has won 13 straight regular-season meetings by an average of 12.5 points. James recorded a triple-double and Wade finished with a game-high 33 points in a 114-90 road win Feb. 23.

James then had 25 points and 10 rebounds while Wade added 22 points in Friday's 102-93 victory, helping overcome 25 points from Thaddeus Young.

Philadelphia (24-39) has dropped 12 of 14 and is 8 1/2 games back of Milwaukee for the East's final playoff spot, but Spencer Hawes scored a season-high 24 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and added seven assists in Monday's 106-97 home win over Brooklyn.

The Sixers held off a fourth-quarter rally to snap a five-game losing streak.

"That's been our deal all year - we get going but lose our focus when we let them back in it,'' Hawes said. "We were able to sustain and that was the best 48-minute game we played in a while.''

Jrue Holiday, who has 30 points and 19 assists in this season's two meetings against the Heat, added 15 points and 11 assists Monday. He's averaging an NBA-worst 3.9 turnovers per game, but he committed only one while six players scored in double figures.

"It really does make life a lot easier (when players are hitting shots)," said Holiday, who has 54 assists in his last five games.

The Sixers shot 52.6 percent against Brooklyn - their third-best mark of the season.

"The quality of our shots have been better," coach Doug Collins said. "I attribute that to moving the ball and trying to play a bit quicker rather than running the clock and dribbling so much."

Miami has won 17 of the last 18 meetings, including its five-game victory in the first round of the 2011 playoffs.

27 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block. Another day at the office for King. 20 wins in a row? Are you serious? It's like that train Denzel was on, UNSTOPPABLE!

9.5 games ahead of our nearest competitor in the East. 2-3 games ahead of the leaders in the West.

That's pretty crazy, the Knicks and Pacers are flip flopping for second place 10 games behind the Heat with worse records than the top 5 in the West.

Heat-Bucks Preview

Lesser teams have caused the Miami Heat some trouble lately during their astounding winning streak. The Milwaukee Bucks are clearly inferior, but they've given the Heat all they could handle over the past two years.

The Heat look to break a tie with the Bucks for the third-longest win streak in NBA history as they head to the Bradley Center seeking a 21st consecutive victory Friday night.

"I mean, that's a fourth of the season that we've won in a row," LeBron James said. "We should all be blessed to be in this position, be honored to part of such a great team."

His team's next contest could be a first-round playoff preview, considering Miami has built a 9 1/2-game lead atop the Eastern Conference while Milwaukee has an eight-game cushion for the No. 8 seed. Some might think a sweep would be a strong possibility if that series happens; after all, while the league-best Heat have not lost in their last 20 games, the Bucks are 8-12 in theirs and would fall to .500 with a loss Friday.

However, Miami (49-14) has lost four of the teams' six meetings since April 2011, and one of its wins came at home in overtime - 113-106 on Nov. 21. The Bucks (32-31) evened the season series with a 104-85 home victory Dec. 29.

Teams well below them in the standings have continued to give the Heat problems even though their win streak is now just the fourth ever to reach 20 in a single season. That's the same streak the 1970-71 Bucks had, and the only teams with longer ones were the 1971-72 Lakers (33) and the 2007-08 Houston Rockets (22).

"Throughout this whole streak and throughout this season, we've just been resilient. We've been able to win all types of games," James said after scoring 27 points in a 98-94 victory at Philadelphia on Wednesday.

Miami blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter of that game, five days after trailing early in the fourth against the last-place 76ers.

That 102-93 win came a night after the Heat needed James' late layup to beat Orlando, which owns the league's second-worst record. Miami also struggled to win home games against two of NBA's worst teams to close February, going two overtimes to defeat Sacramento after trailing in the final minutes against Cleveland.

"We don't panic no matter what's going on in the game. When you have a streak like this, you have to have some luck," said James, 11 for 30 from the field over the past two games after shooting at least 50 percent in 19 of 20.

Dwyane Wade, though, has found his groove in the latter half of the win streak. He's scored at least 20 points in a season-high 11 consecutive games, shooting 59.1 percent.

"Win 20 games in a row, it's awesome," Wade said. "You can't get around it. We're going to try to go for the next one."

That one comes against a Milwaukee team coming off back-to-back losses following a 6-1 stretch.

Brandon Jennings has totaled 12 points on 4-of-15 shooting in those defeats, but he's keyed the Bucks' success versus Miami with 22.0 points per meeting in the past five. He's averaging a league-best 11.6 assists in March.

Monta Ellis has gotten hot, averaging 26.8 points and 7.4 assists over the last nine games. However, he's totaled 23 points on 10-of-34 shooting in the season series with Miami.

His 26 points couldn't prevent the Bucks from falling 106-93 at Washington on Wednesday to drop 2 1/2 games behind seventh place in the East.

"We haven't secured anything," said J.J. Redick, who scored 16 points. "To me, I'm not going to be happy if we end up with the eight seed."

Milwaukee is giving up a league-worst 109.4 points per game this month, compared to 90.0 by Miami as defense has keyed the streak continuing.

The Heat are scoring an East-leading 103.3 per game this season but have surpassed that mark only once in eight March games.

28 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists for Inkosi. Wade with another 20 point game, Bosh beasted for 28 points. Heat keep rollin'.

Crazy thing is players like Mike Miller and James jones likely to come off the books next year, which should allow to add another decent role player to fill out the team...

JJ reddick would be a good pick up to replace miller

Don't think the money would work, I've always thought the demand( league wide)for JJ's services were low...

Was thinking about maybe a Mike Dunleavy and a post player combo would be nice...
