Official 2011 NFL Draft Thread......

yeah i was wondering the same thing
him and LSU-Terrence Toliver, WR
both of them are big physical 6ft-5in WRs:yes:

i think what hurt Deandre was his health issue with his legs
he broke his leg in 2008 and a leg strain that kept him
out of 7 games last season.

it would been nice to see my beloved BEARS drafted a unknown talented WR, like when they luck up on Johnny Knox.

they might get ask in someones training camp, of course it
there is a training camp this season:smh:

thx. didnt know Brown missed time last season. But dude is huge and fast. I swear if any of you guys watched him play when healthy he was a top prospect right there with Julio and AJ

Constanzo played on left, so you know what you're getting. NE took him...chances are he's legit. I wanted a NT as well, we still don't have a block eater. Wade doesn't prefer one, but all successful 34s have one.

Nnamdi said he wanted GB or NYJ. Don't know his particular relationship w/ Rob, but most cats that have played for him consider him too emotional & a panicer. Just dont see him running to play for him, but money talks. With no cap the raiders might bring him back. Huff wants too much for a player to have never made a pro bowl, but he wants DAL bad so he may take less to come here. He's ok, but nothing to overpay for.

Interesting. Where did you hear/read that about players' feelings on Ryan? Also, I haven't heard about Huff wanting to come to Dallas. That's great if possible. Anything is an upgrade over Ball.

Also, I think the Pats got Solder from Colorado, instead of Constanzo.

I'd like to see Brent get some PT on our squad and move Ratliff to DE. Ratliff and possibly Spears at DE isn't bad.

I'd give Brent 1st team reps at NT and give more PT to Bowen, Lee, Butler, McCann and McCray. I think those are some quality players that need to push the starters or even start.

Well i have seen him play since i watch USC games for some unknown reason seeing as though im a Longhorns fan, and i can tell you that he is good at one crucial thing and that's second level blocking. With Free and Smith you have 2 tackles who can get to the second level and that's real important when it comes to the running game. Since i've had a chance to cool down from yesterdays debacle i can honestly say that any safety drafted yesterday will be cut or be a backup, because that had to be one of the worst safety classes in the history of the draft.

It looks more and more like the cowboys are going after Michael Huff and will pick up a spare safety in the last day of the draft.

Its almost a MUST they have to sign Huff now. I hate this wait and see shit with this laber negotiations still going on because you don't know what the fuck will happen. But I can say though there wasn't a safety out there that I really felt we missed out on. Like last season, aside from the elite safeties like Eric Berry and ol' boy from the Seahawks I thought we had a legit chance at Nate Allen and the jury is out if we missed out on him but he had a solid rookie campaign. This year I don't feel that way.

The cowboys might have found a gem here

Looks like he has a little Patrick Crayton here. He's a late pick so i'll hold off on optimism but could be a future slot guy right here if he makes the team and stay's on course.

yeah word is dude can play

cowboys are gonna have to cut barber and roy to make room for the money they are going to have to spend in free agency cuz they didnt address FS or DL

Cutting Roy will cost 13 million against the cap which I don't see the Cowboys taking. Maybe next season or the year after but not this year. I think both Choice and Barber are gone but if Barber didn't have that contract he'd still be here. I just think this team is ready to move on from Choice. Personally, I don't see how anyone could see that offensive line last season and expect any of our backs to produce but its whatever. I'd focus more on getting more depth on that O-Line than any other position aside from safety.

I would cut or trade:

Barber (hurts)
Roy Williams
Manny Johnson
Hurd
Campo
Ogletree
Davis
Igor
Alan Ball
Sensabaugh
Hatcher
Leon Williams

I would have maybe taken that Jacksonville deal so we could get the extra picks. Pick at 16 and get Constanzo, that BC OLineman.
Maybe go for Brandon Harris, that Miami boy, and Carter. Still get Murray and use the extra pick to get that fat DT from Hampton, Kenrick Ellis. I wanted Ellis over Murray because we need a big DT to let our linebackers work and so Ratliff can move to DE.

I don't feel the draft was that bad because apparently its been said that the Boys are going hard after Asomugha and possibly Huff or Elam.

Cowboys like Josh Brent who were drafted last year in the supplemental draft as our nose tackle to free up Ratliff from playing there every down. That's a lot of players to cut. Personally i'd keep Alan Ball here as a corner, keep Roy as a #3, Hurd and DEFINTELY Sensabaugh because I think him and Huff would be a solid combo out there. Sensabaugh had a solid season last year despite having shit for a free safety.

And Asomugha is fine and dandy but Huff better be here first. Our corners aren't as bad as they were last season. That free safety is going to be terrible this year, next year and the year after.

This defense has been successful with Ratliff as our NT. It has been dominant. I think what works in Ratliff's favor is that he's faster than any guard or center you put on him.

And last I read I don't think the Raiders can bring him back can they? I remember it vaguely and i'm probably wrong but I thought because of that shit they pulled with his contract he virtually can't re-sign? Not to mention the head coach said the young corners need to step up because Nmandi is not coming back. Said that shit like last week. That being said, I don't think we pay the 80 million it will take to get him.

In regards to Huff, you're gonna have to overpay to get him. That's why you need to address these needs in the draft because in free agency you have to overpay. That's just how it is for starters. There's no such thing as a bargain in free agency. That said, i'm willing to overpay if it means we get a legit free safety.

The most discouraging thing to me this offseason is the fact there's no talk of Marcus Spears. They're not even looking to re-sign him. Personally I don't get it. I don't think you would have to overpay to keep him. Shit maybe Wade gets him in Houston but this team has only Igor under contract as a defensive end and Bowen and Hatcher can't hold Spears jock strap. And yea the Pats drafted Solder. I forgot who picked up Consanzo but I remember the Pats getting Solder. And I believe Sean Lee is already penciled in as starter barring injury.

And the whole Huff shit is weird to me. Cowboys fans talk about him as if he is already a Cowboy and like I said earlier, be careful banking on some handshake deals. Its a business and money talks. Jerry better get ready to overpay.

And I think why everyone points to Huff going to the Cowboys is that Huff has been practicing and training with most Cowboys. Martellus Bennett said that on Ben and Skin one day. He's even been training in Cowboys gear. I think that's why everyone talks about him as if he's already playing for us. I'm for the move I just have to be a bit cautious about expecting signings because in Dallas as a Mavs and Cowboys fan? It never goes the way you want it to.

Bad thing about the lockout is that teams can't sign the undrafted free agents yet

Here is a list of some of the top undrafted players

http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0900...est-available-undrafted-players?module=HP_cp2

Cowboys are usually pretty good at finding undrafted gems so I know they are locked in to get them as soon as they can

I wouldnt mind that DT from Notre Dame

He is the type of squatty and strong player you need at NT

Edit: wow Noel Devine didnt get drafted? Man its crazy how you go from the next big thing to that, I remember when Deion had him out in Prosper living with him when he was in high school. Main problem is I dont think he has grown since then.

Its been good w/ Ratliff @ the NT, but he's not the 34 NT we need to free up those LBs(which needs improving). I'd prefer him use his athleticism on the outside & let a big hog molly eat blocks & stuff the run. Jay can get after the QB as well as most elite DEs in the game.

You don't have to overpay to get Huff. He's a name on the market, but not the best player...two years ago he was on the bench. Still hadn't sniffed all pro or a pro bowl. He turned down the raiders offer & is regretting every moment of that shit. OA set the rates for free agent safeties, Jerry not outpaying Danny for a lesser talent. ESPECIALLY with a balance left on the stadium...he's not breaking the bank just yet.

Yeah im still pissed about the nate allen thing because he looked solid last year. I've seen Rahhim Moore play and he tends play soft at the wrong times.

If you can find a slot receiver in late rounds thats a good thing, because any expert will tell you that temas are built in the late rounds.

So they said on the radio today the reason we didnt draft Rahim Moore is that we didnt like his visit

Not his film or anything jus the visit and the way he conducted himself

You see the Cowboys goes through phases where we act like we care about character

Ususally after some shit happens(Dez Brynat in this case)

We had Nick Fairley off our board before the draft even began due to that shit

They also shitted on the team today for drafting an injured player in the 2nd round when there is a lockout and the training staff dont have access to him and he will start the season on the PUP list

I hate the pick

they were talking about the pick Dallas "wasted" on Bruce Carter saying he might not even play this season, but injured players will have access to the training staff but being that he hasn't signed yet you have a point there.

these guys cant sign until the lockout is really over

he wont have access to the staff until the lockout is over

thats the whole point

what if this lingers until july? :smh:

If it lingers till July it's going to be a long season not only for the Cowboys but for lots of teams. The more vetran-laced teams have been having some organized pratices but the most serious thing is that teams can't sign undrafted rookies and as most know Tony Romo and Miles Austin both went undrafted so u can find a diamond in the rough.

exactly

the cowboys are pretty good at finding undrafted players so this hurts us

The more I think about the draft, if the Cowboys drafting 3 offensive linemen, a running back, and a fullback means they intend to run the rock this year then I feel a lot better about what we did.

history has shown Garrett talks that shit, but its not true. They took a FB because that twin didn't work out, his missed block led to Romo's injury. They took a RB because we can't keep 3 backs with those salaries on the roster, gotta gid rid of & replace 1. They took linement because our line fell the fuck off. If we were going OL, I preferred Pouncey because he's more versatile & our needs were interior. Kosier was barely healthy & Davis is back to ARI level. Plus he could backup Gurode.

With Romo coming back, I just don't see JG committing to the run...he's the typical "guru" that falls in love with the pass faaarrr to fucking often.

They said he's already working out. Cats aint just sitting around on his ass. They also said he partially tore his ACL, not a full tear.

I don't mind the pick but for a cat like that to use his speed we need a fat fucker there in the middle.

ACU stay with some fast ass niggas man

They are D-2 but the NFL keeps a close eye on them

I feel ya....Shit like this will end up costing Mac Brown his gig...been a lil too arrogant...with losing out on cats like this, them ill ass cats that play at Oregon, Houston and LSU dude should have like 3 crystal footballs. WTF

so far

johnny knox and pierre garcon
