****official 2009 Draft Thread****

The Spurs got one of the best players in the draft with no first round picks. Man what the fuck is going on? I swear its like the Mavericks just ain't doing shit. Just sitting on their ass because "they like their team". So fucking dellusional. Sitting back letting teams get Vince Carter, Shaq and Jefferson. They think people just want their bum ass expiring contracts.

Its not "like" they aint doing shit...they just aint doing shit point blank period

Whenever they do decide to make a move they will be sure to get raped with no ky in the process

3 of the players who we were rumored to have been targeting are gone...I don't even know who is still out there on the fucking block

And about the expiring contracts, a lot of teams want expiring contracts Mavs are just bullshitting around

Look at the deals made they were salary dumps or players getting dealt in the last years of their deals

Mavs just aint shit...thats it

I see you're still ignoring the rest of what I posted. He's a 1 yr rental that will contribute more than Q Rich did. You don't need him for offense anyways. He averaged more blocks than anyone on the current Knicks roster & has had seasons where he averaged 2 or just under 2 blocks per game. If you're gonna post his stats then at least post all of his stats.

Just answer this...
- Is Darko.... or is Darko NOT... considered a 'Bust'?

2003 was one of the deepest 'talent pools' the NBA has ever seen, in recent years.

He got selected AHEAD of Carmello Anthony, Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, Josh Howard, Boris Diaw, Kendrick Perkins, Chris Kaman, Mo Williams, Leandro Barbosa, Kirk Hinrich, Sasha Pavlovic, Willie Green, James Jones... just to name a few.

And after 6 years... his numbers are pathetic, compared to several #2 draft picks throughout the history of the NBA. (Shheeeeeiiitt.... He only blocks 1 MORE shot and makes 2 MORE baskets per game... than the BOTH OF US... and we ain't even in the NBA.)

Besides, how many 7-FOOTERS get acquired with the 'sales pitch'...

'We don't need him for points"?

orly?

HE'S 7 FEET TALL. IN A BIG MAN'S GAME. SCORING IS EXACTLY WHAT HE NEEDS TO DO when
90% of the rest of the players are SHORTER THAN HIM.

Listen, when your squad has been one of the worst in the league... YEAR AFTER YEAR...

EVERY PLAYER NEEDS TO PUT UP 'A DECENT AMOUNT' OF POINTS.
NOT JUST 2 BUCKETS. ANYBODY COULD DO THAT.

Especially since the Knicks don't have that luxury of of having ANY real All-Stars, or that one 'go-to' guy in crunchtime. :smh:

It's a team effort with them. Everyone needs to contribute buckets.

You can't have a a 7-FOOTER play 15 or 20 minutes a night... on a squad that struggles for offense...
HOPING his only contribution will be to block 1, maybe 2 shots ALONE.

He needs to SCORE. Blocking shots is a 'bonus'.

That's like putting 'point guards' on the court.. HOPING their biggest contribution will be 1, maybe 2 steals a night... instead of getting ASSISTS & knocking down 'open' jumpers. (Steals are a bonus.)

The Knicks don't have a Kobe, or a Jordan, or a Lebron, or anybody CLOSE.

So putting guys on the floor who won't drop some points, is settling for MORE mediocrity... when the team is highly-mediocre enough.

Anyways...

I give you this much...

You would make a GREAT used-car salesman. (No offense. Just jokes, bruh)
Because you really pinpoint the 'Benefits' of a deal...
while glossing over the 'obvious flaws'.

But then again... that's why they invented CarFax. :D j/k

Yeah he's considered a bust but keep in mind he was never given any real play time with any of the teams he was placed on. He got his most minutes while with Memphis & they weren't even starter minutes. While with the Pistons, Larry Brown didn't wanna play him as he's not a big fan of playing rookies, with the Magic, he was Dwight Howard's backup & Memphis is just fucked up all around. So it's not easy to put up solid numbers when you rarely get any burn.

As for his block shots, even if he gives one per game it'll still be more than any Knick has given since Ewing & Camby left. And when I said we don't need him for offense, I'm not expecting for him to be totally inept on that end. The offense will still run through the perimeter players & I'm sure he'll still be able to provide more offense than Jarred Jefferies bum ass.

Yeah the Knicks don't have a Kobe or Lebron or Jordon but that's what 2010 is about as far as the brass is concerned. This coming season is about building a core to coincide with a Star player to make the Knicks relevant again. They have promising pieces in place already & despite what some will say could've been a good playoff team if they had a star player on their roster.

In less than a full season, Donnie Walsh has managed to get rid of almost every horrible acquisition & contract that was brought in by Isiah & Scott Layden. So while you see the Darko signing as a horrible move, I see it as another step towards checkmate in the league's game of chess.

C'mon, Larry Brown knows what's up.

You think if Brown drafted a Dwight Howard or a LeBron James, or a #2 PICK... he would have them sitting on the bench.. JUST because they are Rookies?

It's not the 'lack of minutes', or the coach. :smh:

In the NBA...

IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH 'GAME'...
SOMEBODY. ELSE. GOT. TO. SIT. ON. THE. BENCH.

Darko stays on the bench, from city-to-city... because he DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH GAME... to take minutes away from other players.

Simple as that.

Darko (5.5 PPG) vs. Jefferies (5.3 PPG) :smh:

[**breaks out calculator - lol. **]

Those two are NOT even separated by 1 FREE THROW (points-wise).

The Knicks be losing by like at least 10-15 points most nights...

But I guess, that whole 0.2 PPG (fraction of a point :smh:) differential... 'seals the deal' for you, huh?
Because Darko can possibly give the Knicks 1.. just 1... extra block.... to go with it.
Mean while Jefferies gets 0.4 extra rebounds + 1 extra assist MORE than Darko.

[**puts calculator down - lol. **]

Agreed. They have gotten some bad contracts off the books...
But while waiting for the 2010 'free-agent' sweepstakes...

The Knicks will release or trade-away whatever talent they have left in the meantime.
(While they continue to sign the "Darko Milicics" of the league.)

This is their habit & their achilles-heel. :hmm:

- If they are lucky, they MIGHT get Nash or Bosh in 2010. (but not Kobe or LeBron :smh:)
- Who will be surrounded by Darko, Gallinari and 2 other mediocre (yet-to-be-named) players.. most likely from Eastern Europe.
- As they struggle to achieve a .500 record.... don't bother mentioning the word 'playoffs'.

Oh, btw, what is 'checkmate'? Are u talking about 'bankruptcy'?
When the disappointed fans cross the bridge to BK to watch LeBron (or Kobe)... Is that checkmate?

Is that the 'end-game'?

Donnie Walsh said that he bout to workout a deal with the Timberwolves so they can get Rubio ass in Ny early...if that shit happens, I'll have more than one reason now to go to MSG to watch the Knicks play instead of only going when the Kings come to town.
