I don't think you understood the point. It might have been over your head. If Oden is healthy and you get half of his possible production, the Heat have plugged a massive hole. People heads are exploding. The reality of the matter is that if they work him slowly into the rotation and his knees hold up, he's the perfect piece IF ONLY for the Pacers. The player that gave them the most problems during their last playoff run was Roy Hibbert. Oden is big enough and strong enough to keep Hibbert out of the paint enough so that Hibbert doesn't again have his best professional series ever again. Also, Oden blocks shot and rebounds..which is another area where Miami struggles. If he even gives them half the possible production, he'll help them get back to the Finals. Will take a lot of pressure of Lebron too (on the defensive end...especially on the glass). Riley is smart enough to take his time with Oden and limit his minutes. They're a few organization that are smart enough to handle this situation and Miami is one of them. The Suns have an excellent training staff but he wasn't going there. I think San Antonio would have taken care of him as well. The upside for both parties makes sense in Miami though.
