Obama did all he could to help Rev Wright. With the initial scandal, he denounced what Wright said, but he never denounced Wright himself, even after they tried to press him hard to do it. He defending Wright and tried to paint Wright in a positive light. He defending Wright hard.

Wright condemned himself, yesterday. His attitude was off key too.
You dont go in front of the media and taunt them. Especially when you know they are already out for you. You speak to your points and keep in moving. He was supposed to come out and show the world that he was a better guy that how they painted him. Take the high road, dont taunt them. Come on, who cant understand that???

Wright did what he had to do and Obama did what he had to do, this shit ain't civil war and the conspiracy is NOT Wright trying to take down Obama, it's the MEDIA playing the race card against Obama.

I can understood what Wright did. He thought that defending himself was the right thing to do, but you have to know your adversary, and it is obvious that he thinks doesn't know the extent of which he has been used.

Some years ago when I was in college, I saw Haki Madhbuti(sp?), he stated that the Black church was ill equipped to deal with the white power elite(racism).

I believe every man has a right to defend himself, and the attacks on Wright weren't warranted, but you have to be smart about the way you do things because it seems they are always steps ahead in the fight.

Also, Wright is a politician. Why do you think he joined the church. It wasn't for conversion. If you want to do anything in the Black community then you have to almost always go through the churches.

I have mad respect for Rev. Wright, Minister Farrakhan, Al Sharpton et. al. I just "met" Obama in the last couple of years...before that I knew nothing about him. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to err on the side of those leaders who have put in work for the past 30+ years...

That's why I say the shit was anger, dude was simply angry and did what most normal people do when they are angry, he lashed out. Half the shit that Obama responds to calmly would have most of us screaming "Fuck you". Politicians are cultivated and developed into what they are. They take shit with a smile due to drilling and practice. Preachers are emotional people, their emotion is what sells them. I don't think Wright was strategizing, just reacting to attacks. Dog, if I was Wright, I would have been literally STEAMING for the past few months.

When you go to court as a dependent, you are trained and retrained on how to answer questions calmly. Those who have NOT been trained tend to go off and incriminate themselves (even when innocent) because the questions can get offensive and annoying. Same applies here. You give a dude like Sharpton (a long time NATIONAL figure) the same set of questions and he would have given the EXACT SAME ANSWERS and KILLED that crowd because he is trained in the art of Q&A.

My thing is that the cats acting like this has divided the black community and this has sparked some kind of civil war or that Wright is some sort of racial turncoat and needs to be shot are off base. The man reacted the way any man would (it's just that MOST men will never face the kind of attacks he did over the past couple of months). It's Obama's JOB to take abuse, he chose that job for himself, it's not Wright's.

Once again, this is not about Wright or Obama, it's about the MEDIA RACE BAITING. None of us would even know who Wright was outside of Chicago or Obama's book had the race baiting not happened. Hell, I guess you could say Obama citing Wright in his book STARTED the witch hunt in the first place.

What livelihood was Wright giving up? Isn't his church building him a million dollar home in Chicago? Isn't he getting book deals & speaking engagements out of all of this? He still had support from the black community in Chicago. If anything all this hoopla was making him a national black voice & wealthier. Look - he's not selling out, he's distancing himself from the MOST RECENT SPEECHES OF Rev. Wright... Did you listen to the National Press Club meeting - Wright was saying some stuff white people are not ready to hear!!! I was like OMG - he did not just say that, did he?

Look right now - the two are the same - Wright has latched himself on to Obama and Obama needs to get himself away from Wright because they don't stand for the same thing.

Obama is about Hope and Change but Wright is still angry at America.

two out of the three leaders you mentioned understand tact and that anything they say could possibly be used against Obama which is why if they say anything.. its not much and is worded very carefully so it cant be used as a distraction to stand in the way of a black man winning the presidency.
We all have the common sense(or at least i would hope so) to know the media will try anything they can do put stumbling blocks in front of Obama.. This is something that Wright doesnt seem to get judging from his actions these past few days

What did Wright do??? He accused Obama of political posturing. And boggled him down to just a politician.

He forced Obama's hand. Obama's actions are justified. That is not disloyalty.

All he had to do, was show people he was not divisive, anti-american or a racist. Just talk about you, and facts that prove to the contrary. Keep your explanation factual, short and to the point. I feel you on this....politics is a dirty game and ultimately one will have to take positions that are contrary to their conscious. That is a hard thing for many people to do and therefore there aren't many people who can be successful at politics.

I hear you too on the honor and loyalty thing, but sometimes it's about winning. Pure and simple. DOING WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN.

If we intend to participate in their games, then we gotta make winning as important as anything else....cause these muhfuckas play for keeps when it comes to WINNING.

Until you see Obama polling at 40% or below, he's still in the game. Don't give up on him yet. At this point, polling suggests that the people are smarter than the media. As long as Obama is not polling at 20-30 points below Clinton in any polls, that means it's not over by a long shot. But I totally feel your frustration. I'm beginning to get political fatigue myself. But Obama is still very much in this thing.
