Wasn't his scary ass already elected too btwwhats the perspective...whats new now that you didn't know then? You knew the president wasn't going to downtrod the institution of law enforcement....you know that Obama did send the DOJ to investigate all those controversial killings including Brown and Garner etc.
You know a president who acts within the law and wants a second term isn't going to get on a microphone and say we gotta kill these pig honky motherfuckers or anything even in the realm of that...
so whats this NEW perspective you guys are supposed to be discussing??
Wasn't his scary ass already elected too btw

Clearly, it becomes difficult to debate ideas with another whose ideas seem to radically oppose one's beliefs without succumbing to the temptation of ad hominem attacks and labeling the other. Certainly, I've been guilty of both of those and am interested now in finding ways to keep things on a productive conversational track. I'm wondering if it might be better to introduce one's statements with things like, "In my view..." or "As I see it...". This, as opposed to making absolute statements. Just thinking of strategies of how to keep things civil. Feel free to chuck all of that in the garbage bin as the ravings of an idealist. My two cents.Pseudo-right wing sites
I don't subscribe to either political party. This is where you lack critical thinking. You assume I'm right wing because I dare to criticize your "team"
It's so lazy

In any case, @mangobob79 has been pretty solidly pro-Black as I've seen time and time again. @Supersav I haven't yet seen enough of your posts to get a read on you yet. But both of you have said things that made sense, as has fellow OG @geechiedan. Even members like @xfactor or @Soul On Ice who've posted a lot of viewpoints that I disagree with, have at times been on point, in my opinion. I suppose that's how it is with a place like BGOL and with all of us being individuals with different perspectives, having different level of exposure to various information and having our own unique experiences. The idea of taking the time out to reason things out back and forth is for me feeling more compelling and productive than shitting on people.
To the topics of your quotes, I believe sources are important or in other words WHO the messenger is, where they got their info, etc.
I do subscribe to a political party, the Democrats. As a registered Democrat, I don't see that as meaning I have to 100% toe the party line or cheerlead. It also doesn't mean that I agree 100% with everything they push. Both parties have been guilty of being racist and dismissive of Black folks and our needs, just as they've both been complicit in other international areas of racism and imperialism (think the continued financial and military support of the State of Israel, support for the assassination of Gaddafi, etc). Yet at the same time there is one group that has an unbroken history of racism, imperialism, economic elitism, science denial, sexism, xenophobia and blind patriotism to a far greater extent than the other, Republicans. At least one group has nuance and has within it strong factions that care about people and preach policy that benefits economically disadvantaged, universal healthcare, etc. That side can be more easily pushed to practice what they preach. Picking a side should not be about blind loyalty to that side but should be able to see when one's own side is fucking up or has fucked up and to be honest and constructively critical about it.
I think some would feel the opposite. You need to post more
But thanks, bro. We shall see.Our fatal flaw was thinking he didn't understand the true nature of most cacs because of his family/upbringing.

Unlike yourself I am not a registered democrat. However I do feel they practice a form of politics that I find more aligned with my own principles. Of the individuals you tagged, do a quick search and see which one consistently start threads and makes post that dump on your party, all while agreeing that water is wet. He does this with no venom for the other side of the isle. That's the agent.... Excellent post but the bold is NOT what happens much of the time. This is why I keep asking for alternatives. I agree that the democrats, to use the term that youngins say today, have a problematic history. I agree that they seem to dismiss or play off issues that directly affect African Americans while it looks like others are getting something more. But I also know that not many on this board support or agree with conservative republicans..at least not openly. So if we're NOT supporting republicans and are being told to NOT support democrats then where does that political/social energy go??? Because its going SOMEWHERE! I've said this before... If there was a viable 3rd alternative I'm sure many of us would try it and vote X but we live in a two party system and the reality is we HAVE TO deal with that. This isn't cheerleading for the democrats its dealing with the reality of situation. Was Obama as assertive as we wanted him to be...no he wasn't. Is biden the best choice for president...no he isn't. But what are the alternatives since no one wanted a 2nd term of trump?Clearly, it becomes difficult to debate ideas with another whose ideas seem to radically oppose one's beliefs without succumbing to the temptation of ad hominem attacks and labeling the other. no I asked you to point out where gays have something you don't...you never did because you can't.Ironic because you skipped over the data I posted and what I said to paint your own narrative about me saying gays have different rights then black people lmao
I never said they did lolno I asked you to point out where gays have something you don't...you never did because you can't.
the right to marriage is something youve always had...they didn't..
the right to have a serve in the military without hiding who or what you are is something youve always had. They didn't
and so on and so forth...
the impression youre giving is that gays got something and blacks don't get anything when the reality is gays have gotten something everyone else has always had. Thats NOT getting something else or more.
In fact the argument for reparations is much the same...reparations is only designed to bring the injured party up to normal or back to normal...its NOT more than anyone else. Yet the argument cacs will make is the SAME ONE YOUR MAKING....blacks are getting something more than I'm getting.
When that's just not true.
you're not saying much of anything actuallyI never said they did lol
I'm not saying anything you wanna hear and that's fine. Im not falling all over myself over any politician because he's black and he makes you wet while selling changeyou're not saying much of anything actually
I never said they did lol

would tell u that "MORE" denotes an amount set above a mark , so if both parties get the same thing and additional "thing" was given to only one party, the amount given to the other in excess of what both got is what one party got and the other didnt get ,hence it becomes MORE! becos its the MORE in excess of what both got

the plan is to flood the zone with the garbage until this bgol becomes a black stormfront ! i dont mind a good intellectual discussion but once u constantly start off with a manufactured disingenuous position time and again u have to begin to check their foundationI hear you, family. I'm in complete alignment with your first two sentences. Well said.
I'm well aware of the one who does that. He's not the only one either. I don't at this point get personally offended by that, although I believe in being balanced with one's critique and accurate with one's facts. I figure that if there are people here to intelligently counter bullshit, which there are, the bullshit can't win and has no choice but to defer to the truth.
when ur "criticism" is mirror of what alot of undercover right wingers use as an excuse to pass off manufactured fake outrage as curious criticism(foxnews ,fakes ,undercover ass rightwinger do that ) , u will get exposed !, its intellectually dishonest and we see thru it ! it lacks nuance ,logic , independent thought & critical analysis , so ur feeble attempts at petty insults to masquerade ur inability to discuss intellectually shows time & againPseudo-right wing sites

I agree. It's sad that there are some gullible enough to fall for it, but I think there are more people with sense who knock the agents of bullshit back down to size.the plan is to flood the zone with the garbage until this bgol becomes a black stormfront ! i dont mind a good intellectual discussion but once u constantly start off with a manufactured disingenuous position time and again u have to begin to check their foundation
yes we been handling them on these bgol streets! big thanx to all the decent bruhs on bgol it was becoming a cesspool !I agree. It's sad that there are some gullible enough to fall for it, but I think there are more people with sense who knock the agents of bullshit back down to size.
You can not be this dense. I'll chalk it up to a lack of comprehension through text.@geechiedan asked the question i asked 3 different ways from tomorrow and u still deflected and LIED
he asked "no I asked you to point out where gays have something you don't...you never did because you can't.
u just lied again!!!
u said they got "MORE" ,! MORE is what u claimed they got that we never did!!
using logic , "independent thought & critical analysis"would tell u that "MORE" denotes an amount set above a mark , so if both parties get the same thing and additional "thing" was given to only one party, the amount given to the other in excess of what both got is what one party got and the other didnt get ,hence it becomes MORE! becos its the MORE in excess of what both got

dense !? dense ?You can not be this dense. I'll chalk it up to a lack of comprehension through text.
During Obama's term in office the LGBTQ community had more legislation and targeted directly for there group than black people did.
This is a fact

u said "dense" and cant see how dense ur argument about "MORE" is ?

I remember on his election...folks celebrating like black jesus had finally come back for them..Quickly curbed my enthusiasm.

Been telling folks for years none of these presidents Dems or Reps are looking out for 99% best interest!! As long as they keep the Bread & Circus Illusion on track and the folks distracted, they are doing what they were put in office to do!!!
