I don't expect Obama himself to speak on any of that type shit unless he so chooses, but I damn sure don't think Reverend Wright should be thrown up under a bus. I spoke out against Tavis's routine concerning Obama, but Tavis presents himself as a far more public and political figure and had his own political agenda, but I also said Tavis had a right to defend himself just like Reverend Wright does. Tavis didn't sit by quietly and let the media or anybody else define him (he may have done a piss poor job defining himself, but he still had the right to do so) and Reverend Wright shouldn't have to sit back and let the media lynch him and not defend himself. This idea that Wright should sit back and just let this shit happen to him and his church members is bullshit. Obama can't defend them, so all he can do is sit back and watch them get trashed and pile on (if he wants to get elected). Some things are expected, he can't roll out to the podium with his fist raised at every public appearance, but at the same time a line has to be drawn on just how far Obama (or the black community) is willing to go to get him in the white house.

Wright has helped sooo many people over the last 40 years and they're essentially telling Obama that he has to throw the Civil Rights tradition that MLK, who Michael Eric Dyson brilliantly pointed out, was accused of the same things Jeremiah Wright is being accused of now. People told him to shut up and he was making it hard for the Democrats to win too.

Sean Bell is a miscarriage of justice, but as president you are the chief law enforcement officer of this country. You can't second guess a jury that studied the case for a while and came to a decision, just because you don't like it.

Oh no i completely agree with you on wright, i was just pointing out in general, that everybody seems to have different levels of what they view as selling out. As far as the Sean bell case goes, the officers that were on trial, waived there 6th amendment rights, so the trial went before a judge and there was no jury involved. And even though i don't think Obama sold out, I personally thought he should have at the very least acknowledged that the verdict was very unfortunate givin the circumstances of the shooting, but thats just my opinion.
