Obama: Low Turnout By Black Voters Would Be ‘A Personal Insult’

Tariq had an interesting viewpoint regarding Trump becoming president - - he said we need to stop being the Crispus Attucks of the races and stop martyring ourselves - its always been messed up for black people regardless of whether a democrat or republican is in office - if Trump gets in office, for the first time in the history of this country, things may potentially become messed up for these other groups/ races - this includes Mexicans (the wall), middle easterners (Muslims)and Asians (trade). Let white supremacy shake things up for them since these groups worship the white man so much. These groups need us to vote for Hillary so we will be the only ones who will continue to be adversely affected.
I agree but I am not willing to throw the baby (us) with the bath water (them).
I'm not willing to let Trump nominate hundreds of judges from the Supreme Court on down to the lower Federal courts.

Nah I corrected things that weren't on him...and still would.

Things that should be state or local for example that people put on him...

My problem with Obama is specific to Obama.

He never used his position to dictate the pace at lower levels(which we ween happen with the clinton crime push in the 90s). Bush got shit off through state of the union speeches, not Obama. But his black supporters never demanded that he dictate the pace. Folks too busy just being happy Obama was where he was. :smh: Folks not voting on the lower levels, and throwing away votes at the higher levels.

Shiiiiiiiiiiit, its motherfuckers who'd rather slit their wrist than believe that shit ...

...and I don't know what else they need to know after eight years of a black president that we got out and voted for like our lives depended on the shit.

Shit, I actually voted, and anybody who knows me know how unlikely it is to get me to vote for a president.
Here's what I don't get. A lot folks claim to only vote locally but what the federal government to function as the local government. That's just weird to me because it seems the local government has been getting a pass these 8 years.
Meanwhile the Republicans have taken over local government.

Come on now. He is president of all of America, and Maine is 'old fashioned' America, Chicago isn't. :hmm:

I remember 2008. Folks said he had to kick that post-racial shit to get into office. It then quickly went to he has to play the game for the second term. The real shit was to come in the second term. Now we are months away from the end and pleas are still being copped for him. We aren't that far away from people pushing Michelle for president in the future on some bill/hillary part 2 shit.

That was what this was all about. Obama was softening them up for Michelle to come in and handle things.

He had to "play the game" because not enough people came out to elect a more favorable congress.

The crime bill involved cash for the local government. Which a republican congress was all for. Clinton didn't dictate shit. The local government dictatedoes the pace of federal government.

Black people should vote for Hillary...vote for her and then do what we didn't do enough of with Obama...make some demands...Black folk complained that Bernie ignored us and didn't mention us....well I hope shout outs weren't all we wanted and I hope that we put some real demands on this chick

It can work both ways. States legalize marijuana, but feds still sick the dogs on them. Happened under both Bush and Obama(even though Obama eventually eased up).

So lets not act like feds can't and won't bully local government. At the same time, people have to fight locally. It's a complicated game, and that's why the masses lose. The government has a lot of smart people up top. Meanwhile, any person with a heartbeat can vote.

Have you ever heard the term "all politics is local"
That because ever starts at the local level. The good thing about the HOR is that it is both a federal and local position (elected by districts). Oh and they control the federal purse strings.
So you can try to bully the states but what are you going to do? Take a way their funding?
You think the HOR and the senate will just let you do that to their districts/states? It's not as easy as you're trying to make it seem.

I'm not trying to make it seem easy. I'm just saying things can work both ways. A president can use a State of the Union to manipulate a lot of thought. Shit happened with the Iraq war and steroids in baseball. I remember Ashcroft and Bush raiding hospices in cali over marijuana. Feds still have the pressure.

The game isn't easy at all, but people shouldn't underestimate how much pull the feds have. They also shouldn't underestimate what they can do locally. But don't be surprised when local politics are undermined by the feds.

You don't make demands after you give almost 100% support.

You make demands before you give the support and then you hold them to their promises.

She already has the vote with no demands so why should she or any candidate worry about what you want when they already have what they want ?

You see how much Hillary and the DNC changed their stances on shit when they are fighting for the support and vote of the Sanders supporters ? They said what they wanted and the candidate changed positions and platform. Now it is up to those progressives to stay in her ass to make sure she fights for those things she promised.

And it is also up to those progressives to find draft and elect like minded candidates to help her do them or replace her in 4 years

We have seen posts regarding Obama that basically said, cmon man, he didn't run on that so why expect him to do it now ?
