I like him, he's articulate and rational (I.e. seems far less reactive than Clinton). Hillary is too much of a politician's politician - she seems stodgy at times yet knows when to put on the tears whereas Obama's demeanor shows some semblance of honesty.
Although I think there are far worse candidates out there, I don't trust Hillary Clinton.
Also, if you close your eyes he sounds somewhat like a more subdued version of Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock).

This was a great strategic message to those right wingers who already prefer Obama to the Republican candidates. When Obama makes it to the general election, that comment will be gold.
Caveat: Lets hope the Black Militia "understands" that this was strategic and not discredit him since he spoke of the devil Regan. But I have a feeling after that Bob Johnson ordeal, the voting black public is getting smarter by the day.

This is important because black folks saw right through Bob Johnson's transparent attempt to vilify Obama. Let's start giving our people some credit.
This is Bullshit, Reagan was fucking terrible, the only reason Obama is saying this is because hes running against Clinton and i can understand that. If a Dumb republican looks at this and falls for it then so be it, but that kinda talk could alienate some Dem Voters, its a Win/lose IMO.

What he's saying is true. Reagan did represent and do what he said in a way that Clinton & Nixon did not. That's not to say that the effects of Reagan's presidency wasn't fucked up or Reagan himself. Barack isn't praising Reagan so much as he's stating a matter of historical context and perspective. No real expression of 'love' here at all... just objective thinking. There's nothing wrong with that, fam.
Not only that, if you look at the response of the people in the background of Bob "Bojangle" Johnson's speech, they were really uncomfortable and did not cosign that shit.
You're missing the point. Reagan won the presidency by a landslide. Why? Because he charted a new course for the country.
The dude is saying, "Mufuckas, I am like Reagan dammit. I am charting a new course so y'all better get on board this train." He has been using the psychology of association throughout his campaign ( with references to JFK, MLK, Abraham Lincoln and now Reagan). This is POLITICS, a fight for votes and he is playing the game.

Like i said its not a smart strategy imo .If your supposed to be running as a progressive candidate, the last thing you wanna do is compare yourself to the likes of Reagan, yea you might attract some republicans but you risk alienating Dems and progressives who are of the opinion that Reagan changed the Country for the worst.
