Did you really just say nothing is wrong with antioch? Lmbaooo have you been there? Its richmond east. Half the population are hood rats from hunters point, richmond and oakland looking for cheap houses. Not to mention its mad far in the boonies and can take two hours to get there. Its also next to pittsburg which is a ghetto of its own. Nice try lmbao. Oh yeah brentwood borders it and has neo nazis and mexican trash gangbanger living in harmony. Antioch sucks.

There's no confusion, just lies on the part of the "Malibu Oaklanders". I have friends who've been following this thread call me up about the duck tales being told about Oakland.
Tourists from across the globe never EVER mention Oakland as an attraction. Why? Because Oakland is a SHITHOLE. J Boogie backed me up, and I don't know him personally and neither do I know this blogger http://chauvis.com/ but he's echoing the same sentiments. He even has links to other blogs saying the same thing.
You saw the Oscar Grant riots I posted.
Check out the Homicide rates:

Oakland will always be that little red headed bastard step child to SF. Someone in this thread tried to call Oakland "National League Champs", that's bullshit because there are surrounding East Bay communities more worthy of that title than Oakland.
But don't take my word for it. Hop on BART and check out "Malibu Oakland" for yourself. Be around 14th and Broadway in Oakland after 7-8pm and tell us it doesn't look like a scene from I Am Legend.
Now niggas whining about how HOUSES are expensive in SF. San Francisco is a REAL city, not some spread out suburb with a downtown area, so of course most of the residents are renters, however, and read closely, if you believe that you have to actually live on property to own it, SF is not the place for you.
kayanation, you said you are coming out here to test the waters in the tech industry and to pedal you idea to investors, a word of caution, there are some very very clever and smart mofos in SF and Silicon valley, if you come here thinking INSIDE THE BOX like a typical Oaklander, you will get owned by your peers
it isn't
you come out here and judge for yourself
pick your own place
if you need a guide pm me
go everywhere and don't limit yourself
the bay as a whole is wonderful
oakland and sf are wonderful
the surrounding areas aren't bad too
i dont mention the far off places cause of commute.
but come out here and judge for yourself
you can clearly see that some have an agenda to shit on the next and others are trying to help.
basically...I don't get the venom against Oakland's negative points, all the while pretending SF is perfect and minimizing all of the craziness that happens there--including crime against tourists.1st
oakland is not a tourist attraction
and nobody here said it was
oakland is not a tourist attraction, why? because it isn't. its a city where people come to live not visit like sf.
you're just spewing so much bullshit its insane but that's fine.
the only person who said anything about "malibu" is you
you CLEARLY have some issues with oakland and it has nothing to do with the place
someone must have done something to you and now you have a grudge forever which is fine.
the last statement is total disrespect.
i am born and raised in oakland
and i take offense to it.
there is no typical oaklander, so cut that bullshit out
and who is telling ducktales? only you
nobody called you up about shit lol
kaya
you come out here
and visit the areas you wanna visit and make your own informed decision
don't listen to walker he'll have you in a hood and say this is the entire city
then take you to the whitest tourist part of sf and say this is sf
when both statements wouldn't be accurate.
its hilarious though, he really hates oakland lol. i have no hate for sf.

its clearly a hangup and a reflectio.
I don't give a shit about whether or not you like SF. I don't care if you are offended. Asswipes always talk about SF being "fag capital". Of course that's bullshit and I refute it but it is an unfortunate outdated stigma attached to the city so I roll with the punches. But unlike them, I actually lived in Oakland, so I can make the claims I am making. I don't like Oakland. There are far superior east bay cities to Oakland. Oakland is what it is. It's not affluent, it's not on the cutting edge of anything, it's not progressive, it's basically the Cleveland of the west coast. BTW that Oscar Grant riot I posted took place in East Oakland, the very same place you were upselling earlier. I can't remember any riots ever taking place in Hunters Point.
SF being out of the price range of most is a good thing, it filters out all the dregs and "bad neighborhoods" are kept in check. Other than TL and HP, there are really no bad spots in SF, and TL isn't even a hood, it's more like a few square blocks full of riff raff.
My issue with Oaklanders is that you clowns have the nerve to say it's better than SF. That's literally the same as me saying New Jersey is better than New York. While I'm not a big fan of New York, even I couldn't flagrantly tell such a lie with a straight face. Let me make such a claim and every single New Yorker in this forum would come down on my like 10 tons of bricks, AND RIGHTFULLY SO.
There is no hangup. Just don't compare it to SF and you won't hear a peep out of me.
its clearly a hangup and a reflection of what other homie said about how sf has a chip on its shoulder when it comes to oakland.
they care all too much about what we do, when we could care less about anything they do.
both places have highs and lows
but attacking the city and the people in it and trying to make it cut and dry like smart people live in sf and only dumb "niggas" live in oakland is just retarded and i'd expect more from people.
To be honest... I like the 'Town...
Whenever I go to San Fran to visit my pops... I make sure to go to the 'Town...
For some reason... It reminds me of Jamaica, Queens... Maybe because of the black people out there...
San Fran has flavor... but it seems crowded to me... Like they tried to fit a lot of shit in a little space...
BUT overall... The 'Town is cool in my book...![]()
5. Oakland, Calif.
New restaurants and bars beckon amid the grit.
Tensions have cooled since violence erupted at the recent Occupy Oakland protests, but the city’s revitalized night-life scene has continued to smolder.
The historic Fox Theater reopened in 2009 and quickly cemented its status as one of the Bay Area’s top music venues, drawing acts like Wilco and the Decemberists. Meanwhile, the city’s ever more sophisticated restaurants are now being joined by upscale cocktail bars, turning once-gritty Oakland into an increasingly appealing place to be after dark. James Syhabout, the chef who earned Oakland its first (and only) Michelin star two years ago at Commis, followed up in May with the instant-hit Hawker Fare, a casual spot serving Asian street food. Big-name San Francisco chefs are now joining him. Daniel Patterson (of two-Michelin-star Coi) opened the restaurant Plum in late 2010 and an adjacent cocktail bar later, and another restaurant, called Haven, in the recently renovated Jack London Square last month. Its going to be a sad day.
Warriors already leaving the town to SF
A's more & more likely to move south > Every team in the MLB has a new park except Oakland & the legendary parks in Boston(Fenway)Chicago(Wrigley) & LA (Dodger stadium).
Raiders being courted again by LA big time on the low. When that lease is up watch out. They will try to piggyback into the 49ers park or move back to LA.
The A's & Raiders are the only teams in their respective sports to share a stadium. Lowering the value of the teams.
Raiders the only team to still play part of the season on a baseball diamond.
I'm in SF couple years now, made the move based on the reviews in this thread.
I'm a techie so SF is heaven for me. Unfortunately no other city on the planet can deliver what i currently get here in terms of networks and connects.
It suits what I am working on right now.
I'm also connected with some city folks and SF is going to continue to come up big time under Mayor Ed Lee
Real transparency and a push towards using technology to enhance the city.
e.g. Google is going to put wifi in 31 parks
The city is engaging tech companies to really be engaged in making SF a standout.
What does that mean to everyone else who is not in tech or a tech related industry?
Hard times.
Unfortunately that includes a lot of us.
I'm doing my part to connect black people like me to the resources they need that exist here.
oakland?
Cool chill vibe, different energy but I haven't had much time to really explore like i want.
SF is too convenient for me, walk a couple blocks and get everything you need.
I have a car and don't even drive most days

San Fran is a great city ,a world city. Oakland is just dropping the ball, its my home. Still miss it sometimes, but not those cold ass gray weather days.
I like Oakland it's changed a ton since I been here. My 1600 sq ft condo I paid 500k for would cost me 4 million 6 miles away in sf. I have been robbed in sf twice at gun point. Not in Oakland. That bridge don't mean shit living in downtown Oakland is like living in Harlem in comparison to midtown. Big fuck in deal. If I want to go hang out in frisco I drive 10 mins. I do everything else in Oakland. It's perfect for me right now.
San Francisco of course.
I live in the Oakland and worked in both cities for years. Frisco of course is a tourist attraction and has been propped up that way. Here's the real deal: Oakland is the source of great music of multiple genres, style, lingo, mack game, originality, and black empowerment. A lot of people from various profession came and got the game from Oakland and branched out. Oakland is not fake and doesn't tolerate fake people. The town is crime ridden no doubt but there's parts of the city that people don't go to like HP, and Sunnydale. Far as cleanliness: the City has the Tenderloin area and you have a better chance of seeing someone taking a shit in the street in that area than anywhere in the Town. The Tenderloin stinks, is heavily drug infested, and is filled with crack hoes and knocks. If you take a survey of which city is respected more it be would Oakland winning that poll. Oakland can be too much for some and they can't handle it then, it that case the Town ain't for you.
