On the real side, up here, we weren't trying to work. Back then minimum wage was like $5. And who gets a career at 18? Cats from King Kennedy(projects) to Garfield Heights(suburbs) were on it. You know the game. Cats rolling to the school house with thousands in their pockets. And I'm talking from the projects schools to the burbs. What job competes with that?
My thing is some cats only seen one side. They came from the gutter. They really didn't see the cats who had two parents working, putting them in the nicest shit, and these cats still doing drive bys. How a mentality transcends poverty. Shit is real. I seen how these stores went from zero robberies in 40 years to one a month and then bullet-resistant glass. Meanwhile, some cats only grew up around bullet-resistant glass.
Looking back, it was crazy because the pigs and everyone else was in denial. They couldn't picture why cats with all the opportunities in the world were kicking up dust. Called the folks in the 'burbs' wannabees until the bodies/cases started piling up. And it didn't take long until DTW cats knew to watch their asses in the burbs.
Man, it's crazy we are in an era where cats banging on twitter, the gram, and facebook -- while in the burbs.
You must be 100 or grew up around 100% cacs in prepville. When were cats throwing hands like that? I'm an old man in my 40s and sure as shit wasn't anytime in my childhood.
