A 24-year-old woman once accused of killing her roommate was fatally struck by a train after she jumped onto the tracks at a Manhattan subway station to relieve herself last month, according to law enforcement sources and disturbing new footage.

The straphanger, identified by sources as Meanna Torigoe, walked down a ladder onto the train bed in front of a red sign warning commuters to stay off the tracks at the Union Square station around 10:20 p.m. on June 16, video obtained by The Post shows.

Torigoe disappeared down the tunnel, but about 15 seconds later she was seen rushing back toward the platform before a northbound L train plowed into her just as she grabbed onto the ladder.

The train violently dragged her down the platform as other straphangers quickly jumped back.

Torigoe was pronounced dead by first responders minutes later, police said.

Police said at the time no criminality was suspected.

She wandered onto the tracks because she needed to urinate, sources told The Post Wednesday.

While there are restrooms at the station, they close at 7 p.m.

The incident took place at the Union Square station.

Back in March 2022, Torigoe, then 20, and her boyfriend were arrested and initially accused of beating and stabbing their Bronx roommate to death during an argument over noise.

Torigoe and her then-beau John Delgado were both charged with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, police said at the time.

It’s unclear what the resolution of Torigoe’s case was, but she was on probation tied to a criminal possession of a weapon charge at the time of her death, police said.

The murder charge against Delgado was later dismissed by a grand jury and the panel couldn’t reach a decision on the manslaughter rap, a Bronx District Attorney’s Office spokesperson told Norwood News at the time.

The Bronx DA’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

A young Bronx couple’s bad habits had gotten on their roommate’s nerves for years — before they were accused of stabbing him to death during a spat over being noisy, family of the victim said Sunday.
Meana Torigoe, 20, and John Delgado, 21, allegedly knifed Jonathan Hutcherson inside the apartment they all shared on Perry Ave. near E. 204th St. in Norwood about 3 a.m. Friday.
“Jonathan did not deserve that. He was not in any way a violent person. He just wasn’t,” said Antonio Gillespie, who is not related by blood but considered himself an uncle to Hutcherson. “He wasn’t a combative person — he wasn’t that person.”
Hutcherson, 29, initially grew up in Virginia but moved to Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, as a teenager with Gillespie and Gillespie’s late mother, who raised Hutcherson and whom he considered his grandmother.
But four years ago Hutcherson finally moved out of the family home into an apartment in the Bronx — with his eventual alleged killers as his new roommates.

On Friday, the couple were arguing in their room when Hutcherson stormed in, telling them to keep it down, police sources said. An argument erupted and Hutcherson retreated to his room to blast loud music, the sources said.
The conflict turned physical and the couple blasted Hutcherson in the eyes with pepper spray, beat him with brass knuckles and knifed him in the neck and chest, according to a criminal complaint. Hutcherson died at the bloody scene and the couple was taken into custody.
“I cannot understand how they felt the need to mace him, beat him with brass knuckles and then stab him to death. For that I have no sympathy for them,” Gillespie said.
“They destroyed three families, their families and mine, over a stupid decision. … Your intention was to kill him and can’t nobody tell me it wasn’t.”
Delgado and Torigoe were arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court Saturday. Both are charged with murder, manslaughter and weapon possession and were ordered held without bail.
Torigoe’s family expressed astonishment at the charges.
“She’s a pretty mellow kid,” Torigoe’s aunt, Megumi Moon, told the Daily News Sunday. “She’s always understanding and she listens to both sides of the story — so a big fight doesn’t make sense to me.”
Torigoe comes from a family of performers and describes herself as an actor/singer/dancer in an online profile. In a 2016 Facebook video, she sings a song from “Wicked” while being coached by Broadway Kids Audition.
Torigoe “grew up on Broadway, basically,” Moon said. “She did a lot of auditions and she did some commercials. She’s a good kid. She’s a well-rounded kid.”

Delgado’s family was also in disbelief at the murder charges.
“I don’t think my son did something like that,” Delgado’s father Orestes Delgado told The News. “I don’t think he stabbed him. I think the girl did.”
Orestes Delgado said his son called out of the blue after the stabbing.
“He hasn’t called me in a year. … He said something happened with the girlfriend, but he didn’t want to tell me over the phone,” Orestes Delgado said in Spanish. “Everything else I know I saw on the news.”
Orestes Delgado said his son suffered from depression and other mental health issues, and was taking medication and going to therapy since he was young.
Torigoe’s mother died in 2019 from a heart attack in her sleep, her aunt said. Torigoe then took over the apartment they had shared, inviting her boyfriend to move in and gaining Hutcherson as a roommate.

The young couple quickly got on Hutcherson’s nerves, Gillespie said. The experience made Hutcherson realize why Gillespie had sometimes found him difficult to live with in Brooklyn years ago.
“They was young annoying kids to him,” Gillespie said of the accused killers. “During COVID we were talking about his living situation and he was like, ‘Yeah, Unc, man, I know what you’re talking about, living with two young people, I got to apologize to you. I get it Unc, because they don’t clean up.'”
“When he needed stuff growing up, I was the uncle,” Gillespie added. “He was a kid. He started working with Starbucks, he worked with GNC and the last steady job he had was with Yelp.”
When the Yelp job ended at the start of the COVID pandemic, Hutcherson started making plans to attend New York City College of Technology to earn his bachelor’s degree, Gillespie said.
“Jonathan was a gentle giant. He was about 6-foot-3, very quiet, to himself and loved technology and video games,” Gillespie said. “He grew up as an only child, so he was a loner. … He was just a calm cool giant.”
“I just couldn’t understand it,” Tammy Hutcherson, the victim’s stepmother, said of learning of the slaying. “He’s always been a great young man. … It’s just horrific.”

I would like to extend my condolences and deepest sympathy to the first responders and MTA employees who had to clean up this mess and to the commuters who were delayed.

As a 27 year veteran subway trackworker, I am trained to look for cutouts in the walls called niches before entering the tracks. In the event a train is approaching, we are to enter these niches that have enough clearance so that the train can pass without incident. The public doesn't know about this and should always remain off the tracks.

The headline says "jumping on tracks to relieve herself". I thought it meant she did it to relieve herself of the guilt of the murder. I gave her too much credit.

This being New York City, the family of the deceased will probably sue the MTA and the city for closing the public toilets at 7;00 PM. Her lawyers (liars) will argue that "this is an inhumane, barbaric, outrage unworthy of what is the greatest, most enlightened metropolis in the world that is the envy of all civilized people." They would probably win a gigantic settlement.

I did not find the video to be disturbing. I am going to get professional help. But I need to warn the potential help that what they learn about me may be very disturbing.
