$3,700 for a one bedroom apt in SF... that's crazy.

Rent control is just ONE thing, NYC has rent control too. Same shit happens here.
That's only good for people LIVING in the building at the time.
What about allowing Low income people to afford to live in new buildings?
ANY new residential building, including Expensive High Rises in Manhattan HAVE
to allocate a certain amount of apartments for low income people.

Yup SF is a lot like NYC shits out of control . SF used to have a 25% Black population. It’s down to 6%. The city is full of young Tech Cacs and Asians . You won’t see families there either. Nobody has kids.

I guess it's really a matter of what's convenient for you. If you live in Manhattan and make $65K+ or $800 as a couple it might be worth it. No car needed. Walk to work. Between car payments, parking, gas and insurance knock off $1K per month.

I’m saying like I live in Alabama, I think the federal minimum wage is like $7 or something a hour and that’s what some jobs pay but you can find a one bedroom for like $400. In cities where people are saying a simple one bedroom can be over $1000 do they still have jobs where the pay is like $7 a hour?
